What if I have created 7 logo versions. I want the client to view these 7 versions as one file (maybe one PDF file with 1 logo per page). Each logo version is on its own layer in Illustrator right now. How do I convert each logo/layer to a multi-page PDF file? Since this is just for viewing, I don’t have to submit EPS files yet to the client.

how to get the page count of a multi page PDF file? I know you can then open each page using the PDFFileOptions (pagetoopen). But I need to know up front how many pages there are to loop thru to open each page and process each page.

View 2 Replies View RelatedTrying to set up a datamerge file to create multi page spread documents with fields on different pages. Attempting to set it up so it's as automated as possible as there are up to 20 different merge documents needing to merge with up to 100 different csv records from the same file each week . The merge documents have different and repeated merge fields on most pages.
I've set it up so that the document has facing pages, and most pages have images spread across the whole of the spread. the pages preview fine, they are created ok when using 'Create Merged Document' although the page numbers continue from one document to another (another problem). but when I come to export to pdf, then the merge only shows the image on the left spread but on both left and right spread single pages, and the page numbers don't show the correct page numbers eg it will go p1 p2 p1 p2 etc all the way through the document instead of p1 p2 p3 - p20 etc. I don't want to have to merge first then pdf but can't understand why the images and page numbers are not showing correctly.
This was very easy to do in earlier versions of Illustrator, but now it seems like the only option is to make a separate artboard for each page tile!

I've got 32 TIF files, each the page of a comic book. i want to crete a 32 page PDF file. Turning one tiff into one PDF in Photoshop is easy. But two or more into a single pdf document... I don't see how.

Ahhh, and it isn't working now. Now I can't open the file. I've tried Paint.NET, MS Paint, GIMP, MS Picture Manager, Windows Picture Viewer, and Windows Media Center. Maybe other programs.

After I view and then close a file in Illustrator CS6 I can delete the file, but not its containing folder, which stays locked, even after closing Illustrator. Restarting and closing Illustrator again usually enables me to delete the folder — but not always. Sometimes I have to close everything and log out and back in to be able to delete the folder. (BTW, Acrobat and Photoshop also share this problem.)
When you have, as I do, hundreds of files to go through, this becomes a real hassle.

Several times a week I need to take a PDF (single-page doc), then convertto a page-sized PNG with quality good enough to read the text (and atransparent border), and then convert to a SWF. I have a PNG-to-SWFutility, but when I used it on the PNG saved after I opened my PDF andexported from GIMP, the end result was not good enough. A co-worker saidGIMP couldn't make a PNG (w/transparency) with enough quality. He said we'dhave to use some other software. (I have a PostScript program that generates artwork for signs that are to be laser etched at the TechShop. The laser interface uses Illustrator and a special Print driver. I notice that opening a page from a PDF file positions the contents slightly differently than placing that page, when I do it manually, so I figured I'd create the multilayered Illustrator file by opening one page (which works) then placing all the pages in their own layers, then deleting the first page. It is made from a font and some lines etc and then merged and vectorized. Opening the Label I make all text outlined (Type>Create Outline) but I just can't get the Logo vectorized. I have understood I need to see "a blue line and dots" following the shape of the Logo in order to know that it has been outlined.
