Photoshop :: Text Or Lines Following Folds And Curves
Mar 20, 2006If I write something on a t-shirt how do you get the text to look like it is really on the t-shirt, following all the folds in the shirt, not just text on the shirt.

View 3 Replieshow do I make straight lines? Horizontal Lines? Vertical Lines? Curvs? I read many tutorials and i am afraid that I am doing it the wrong way, my way is to drag a guide to where i want the line to be at and trace the guide with the brush tool...
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a rather weird problem. I am using .dxf files as digital overlays on a new optical comparator we recently purchased. The problem is, the cad files we used to create our old mylar overlays is both 3d and comprised of text/curves/dimensions. I figured out the flattening and turning the text into lines and curves, but I cannot find a method to change the dimension graphics (profile boxes, length dimensions, and angle dimensions) into lines and curves.
When I import them into the comparator program only the lines and curves can be displayed on the comparator. Is there any way to flatten and make all of the dimension graphics lines and curves?
sometimes Photoshop (Intuos 4, AMD Phenom2 X6 1100T@3.333GHz) draws a hard line at full pressure instead of a soft, dynamic curve. It simply connects the starting and ending point. Painting ia 20000x14000@16GB Ram with PS using 12GB, painting size 6GB.
I also experienced when going back history states with ctrl-alt-z the tool automatically switches to zoom, and sometimes history just jumps back to the latest state.
Is it possible to warp a Smart Objects using corners and straight lines in stead of curves? I try to make a map icon in which you can easily replace the image on the map. I know how to do this warp with paths by adding anchors, but it won't work with a Smart Object (or a simple image for that matter)
It should look like the right image:
If I try to do it by splitting the image and transform them like on the left image, the transition between the 'panels' isn't correct.
Any suggestions on how to restore this photo? I am having problems with getting rid of the folds and wrinkles. The original picture was printed on linen and then framed. The hardest part is in the little boy's (I know he looks like I girl.) shirt. I am having trouble with the vertical stripes.

How to get the line and curve's start point and end point for me to use in dimensioning either linear or baseline?
This comes from the game "Thief 2". How they did with that "creased" technique? I mean, the fabric over the booth has some realistic folds, especially at the bottom; how they manage to make that? Did they scan a fabric sample or there's a trick with Photoshop to make those folds credible like that?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI was wondering if photoshop or a plugin got a function, which can create a "plane" looking like pants and then fill it with the texture/pattern I want?
Something similar to vanishing point. Though in this case I got pants. So a square ain't useful.
Take a look at the pictures. I cut out the pants, make a plane looking thing, which shows the depths and folds in its area. After that I apply the texture/pattern. Is this possible with photoshop?
I hope you catch my meaning. If not I will try to describe myself better.
Digital scrapbooking is my passion. I saw the attached image and would love to be able to replicate it. I have some paisley brushes that give a lovely effect, but I have no idea how to make the "fabric" look like satin with lots of folds.

We have a surface and we have the lines...it's just that the linwork is all at 0 elevation.

I am using C3D 2011 but could not find that option when creating sample lines in a station range.
A client sent me their logo where the name is straight across. They would now like to wrap it around the circle in their logo... They do not know the name of the font, what the font couldn't id it, not much response on their forum...
Is there a way to fit text to path, where the text has already been converted to curves?
I am having trouble presenting segmented lines with a dashed line type in AutoCadMap 3D 2011. When the segments are small (as in curves) the dashes float together and the lines appear to be continous. This is not the case in for example TopoCad and ArcGIS.
Is there some kind of system setting in AutoCad where you can chose drawing technique? So that the dashed line segment starts with the blank part instead of the dashed?
Looking for a nice script that can search a complex design with lots of linework and find all coinciding duplicates and select them all and delete them but leave (1) good copy.
Basically when I use Outline Pathfinder in Adobe Illustrator, then bring back into corel, sometimes get a lot of redundant objects. I already set the settings in Adobe Illustrator to minimize that as much as possible.
I would like to create a number wheel with the numbers at 90deg to the circle but I cannot find any way to achieve this and it seems like something that should be doable within the text to curves feature.
Here is an example of what i would like to achieve.
I'm making vectors for my Spreadshirt page, and when I try to upload them SS is telling me that I must convert all the text to curves. How do I convert the text, and what do I do when there is no text in the image?
View 5 Replies View RelatedHow to do a miter fold yet? If you don't know what that is, picture this:
Take a strip of material say 4"x48"x1/2", chamfer the 2 short ends @ 45 deg, cut 3 45deg v-grooves at equal spacing & leave .030" material at the bottom of the groove. Now fold the machined part into a rectangle.
I don't need to put text on a curve but need to convert the text of my picture to curves by the company that is going to re-produce it. The require this so that the text won't get distorted if they don't have the same fonts that I am using.
Can I convert whole words or do I have to do a letter at a time? Can I get all the text on one layer and then convert the text on that layer to curves?
I'm very new to Photoshop, and I was wondering if you can convert text to curves, so I can lose those pixelated edges when I enlarge the text for print. On my JASC photoshop program, I can simply select "Convert text to curves" from a pull-down menu. I remembered that I had Photoshop 5 on my old computer, and I like using it better, but I can't find this option. Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I just don't see it anywhere.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am preparing a batch of images for test submission, for a stock photo library.Recently a person working for one of the visual effects studios in London happened to tell me that these strict agencies use some set of layers that can separate tonality and color values to check for banding, dirtiness, noise and all those technical flaws that the human eye can't notice on a monitor. He said they perhaps have an action for it so that they can review faster.
He said that it is known as 'Craze Curves' or 'Visibility Curves' technique. He further added that all the studios use it before giving the final files to clients so that there is no issue in printing afterwards. It is sort of a quality control check and has been used by digital and advertising agencies all over the world.
But now his email seems to have changed and I can't get in touch with him to know how to use the technique.
I've taken over the spot as art person, and to put it nicely I don't know what I'm doing. I'm not sure if I did it or another person who has been on the program. but now when I am accepting files PDF CDR from other people I am no longer recieving the option to import as text or curves. It is automatically importing them as curves. Which is all fine and dandy for fonts I do not have but it leaves me unable to edit the text as needed without having to redo all the text for the fonts I do have.
Where can I find the option to make that option re-pop up when I am importing stuff?
When converting text to curves, it seems to move the text a fraction to the left. How to avoid this?
