Embedding substitutes fonts with OK button on prompt at best. Flattener forces a rasterize when trying to keep proper colors. Don't see many options beyond importing twice with both methods, then removing elements that don't work from each.
View 6 RepliesI've taken over the spot as art person, and to put it nicely I don't know what I'm doing. I'm not sure if I did it or another person who has been on the program. but now when I am accepting files PDF CDR from other people I am no longer recieving the option to import as text or curves. It is automatically importing them as curves. Which is all fine and dandy for fonts I do not have but it leaves me unable to edit the text as needed without having to redo all the text for the fonts I do have.
Where can I find the option to make that option re-pop up when I am importing stuff?
having a problem with x6 importing Eps as text or curves X6 is a nightmare. have made eps files from pdfs imports fine in x5 opens in illustrator cs6. The files re distill to pdf in acrobat no problem. used corel since windows 286 have finally given up, due to font handling change and plugin issues. on to cs6.

Can I convert whole words or do I have to do a letter at a time? Can I get all the text on one layer and then convert the text on that layer to curves?
On using macro for "Convert to curves all text" the Page Number used with Insert Page Number in Coreldraw x6.4 is not converting it but it remove the page number.

Now when I want to edit the pdf in illustrator the images and drawings display correctly, but only certain text is shown. Not any text in particular, but just random lines of text within paragraphs. 1. Create a textframe.
2. Select, choose "effect->convert to shape" menu-item.

Let's say I have some text (black) with a black stroke on it. (It creates the look I want, without using BOLD.)
How can I convert this text to include the stroke as one entire object? No stroke, just one entire vector shape?
(I notice if you import text this way into Flash, convert to a symbol and fade up from zero opacity, you see the fill as a different value than the stroke value - very annoying.)
Is there a Pathfinder command that I can use to fix this text?

I am working with our surveyor to import fieldbook file into AutoCAD Civil 3D 2012. To convert raw into fbk I used the Survey Data Collection Link. I get a error message during the conversion "Bad raw data line at line 10. Unable to continue. Line:BK,OP7,BP563,BS".
I am assuming the problem is no value is set for the back sight azimuth. I went and edited the raw file giving the back sight azimuth a value of 0 and the program successfully converted the file to fbk format.
I've created a new database, and import events. When importing the created field book file I get an error at line 12 "Error: you must occupy a point first." Is there something missing in the raw or fbk file that is causing this error?
