Whenever I open and use PS, then close it down, my Mac will not restart or shut down; it gets as far as that ‘wheel of death’ which keeps on turning, turning and turning, I presume forever. Force quitting PS permits closing down normally. I have uninstalled PS, reinstalled it to no avail. Thinking that my harddrive might be the problem, I ran it through TechTool Pro and that did not work. So I must have some file responsible for it. No other programs, Adobe or otherwise, cause this.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI downloaded the trial version of Photoshop cs6 just to test it, but it fails to launch. A Window comes up once I start it and I says "Photoshop has encountered a problem and needs to shut down", and obviously I can't even start it to see what it might be.
I have tried everything, removing and re-installing etc.. I have tried to get customer help but they are unable to give me a proper fix.
When I click at the botton, "To see what data this error report contains, click here."

View 4 Replies View RelatedI've been using PSE 10 for a while on my OX S Mac. Processor 2.4 GHz intel core 2 duo, Memory 2 GB 1067 MHz DDR3, software 10.8.2.
It was not slow before but know it freezes up so much that it becomes nearly inoperable. I checked my memory and I have plenty of space. I shut down all the other applications. I boosted up the amount of RAM PSE can use. I decreased the amount of undo states PSE can keep. But even with all that, it still was slow. So I uninstalled it and reinstalled it, and that didn't fix the problem either.
Once open Photoshop and clink on Edit, this message shows up, and if choose "Check online for solution..." no new action happen, the program shut down, restating does not work. Before there were no troubles with program.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhile editing a photo in CS3 the program shut down and will not reopen my psd file. The error message reads "cannot complete your request because of a program error" -- it is a very large file (I have been saving it all along) and I had just "flattened layers" and went to open up a new, blank photo file when it shut down. Is there anyway to get this file to open?

View 8 Replies View RelatedJust loaded Inventor 2012 on a new computer. It seems to work OK, I can open and close files with no problem, but as soon as I try to shut Inventor down It lock up. The only way to shut it down in using task manager. After I try to shut it down the normal way Inventor continues to consume memory, (memory usage reported in the task manager continues to increase in size)!
Also once it is terminated in task manager and then restarted, the Inventor memory usage reported in the task manager continues to increase in size with no files loaded? Never leveling off. I have monitored it for several minutes after starting it and it continues to steadily increase in memory usage.
What is this used for? From reading, it seems as though if you use this command it is a way to turn on and shut off layers?

The one you click to get the MRU list, the one you click twice to shut AutoCAD down? Is there a way to disable the shut down on 2nd click? I quite often click it once, wait for a couple of seconds with nothing happening so click it again only to watch AutoCAD disappear.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI've noticed this with several other Adobe apps, but it seems to happen with Illustrator the most, it takes forever to shut it down. Why is it such a chore and a resource hog for this program to just close? Half the time, I need to use the Windows Task Manager to just force the program to close, because it's slowing down my system, and I don't have all afternoon to wait around.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have used X5 to build a slideshow, but this is the first time I tried using video. The source are mpg's created with the Sony Motion Picture Browser (taken with a DCR SR42 Handy Cam). I added title screens between my video segments. I then used the create disc link in section 3 to create a menu (linked to the titles I added previously). I then told it to make an ISO file. It reached ~ 85% of the title conversion (24% total) and the PC shut down. Not a crash, no errors, just shut down. I turn the PC back on and it boots up like normal, No unexpected shutdown screens, no safe mode, just normal boot up. I have downloaded and installed service packs 1 & 2. I was making a 16x9 video with standard ( not Dolby) audio.
This is a wedding video for a couple I know. I was able to burn a DVD from Sony software, but it is unedited video.

After I import a clip, if I try to play it to sample which file it is, it causes a problem with corel and it has to shut down. If I pull the video into the timeline it plays just fine. I checked my update and everything is up to date with video studio and it says it handles .mod files, but I do not understand why it is freezing then shutting down the program.

I started to get this strange error with my Photoshop when making a new document in Photoshop and got the following error: "cannot initiate Photoshop because Photoshop cannot create any more windows".
I thought the easiest thing to do would be to reinstall (Photoshop needs reinstalling extremely often unfortunately), but now when I try and open the program it just give an alert beep and closes back up. Even though I rarely use ImageReady, I opened that up to check and it does the same behavior.
