AutoCAD 2010 :: How To Shut Down Communication Center
Jan 30, 2013On the top of my Autocad display there is a "communication center" icon. So there is a constant connection with internet.
How can i shut down this connection ?

AutoCAD Inventor :: Server Communication Error / Custom Content Center
Mar 28, 2013I am trying to replace an unresolved standard part with a component from a custom content center in a stand-alone installation. I get this error message:
"There was a problem encountered while communicating with the server. Please check the network connection and server status."
I can place the same component from the content center. The content center component family was created as "save to" from an ANSI standard.

Sep 9, 2013Using Inventor 2014 and Vault Basic 2014. It was working this morning but now when Invnetor is opened it automatically logs into Vault and says it is successful but the open from vault icon is greyed out. Similarly when opening a drawing from the vault it used to automatically run and open inventor but now seems to lack the connection. Even when manually opening a drawing that is in the vault by downloading it from the browser and then opening in inventor there is no Vault tab on the browser and all Vault commands except "log out" are greyed out. I think it has something to do with the add-in as well as the Vault group.

Nov 3, 2008I cannot double click a thumb in the bridge and enter Photoshop cs4. It brings up the Microsoft viewer instead. Nothing I have tried corrects this. I can get to Photoshop cs4 through camera raw, but that means opening all jpegs and tiffs in raw. Can anyone help? Perhaps I will need to download the upgrade to cs4 again. But installing the plugins for fractals and NIK software can be a drag. I no longer have cs3, so I can't revert to it

AutoCAD 2010 :: Center All Pop-up Windows?
Feb 10, 2012i work with multiple screens. 1 is my main screen (laptop), 2 is a side monitor (much bigger than laptop) and wireless keyboard. i work on autocad 2012 on screen 2. i've recently switched screen 2 as being the main screen (start button, etc). now, a bunch of my pop-up windows disappear and i can't find them unless i change my display screen back to screen 1. is there a way to make sure that all of the pop-up windows show up on the working screen (or screen 2), or the screen where the autocad software is displayed?

Oct 30, 2013 I installed Mavericks onto an imac running 16gb ram, 3.4ghz HD. I'm running Photoshop CS6 version 13.0.5 & using a wacom with the latest drivers 6.3.7-3. I've had no issues previously but since installing Mavericks every 3 or 4 minutes communication is lost with the keyboard.
By that I mean Photoshop will no longer respond to any keyboard shortcuts. I can keep working in Photoshop, it does not freeze completely but I'm locked into the tool i'm using unable to zoom in/out or any other task via the keyboard .If I exit the app and then return to it the keyboard functionality returns also.
I am also able to jiggle the keyboard back into action by clicking away form the work area and onto another palette. Returning to the work area brings back the keyboard. Bluetooth keyboard & batteries changed too.

May 5, 2012when i pick design center from the ribbon nothing happens. Even if i type in adcenter nothing happens.

Mar 12, 2012LR printed okay for about 1/2 of a job (~300 prints) I have and then this showed up. To finish I have had to "edit in CS5" now for a few days, thusly one image at a time and no info printed on the print either. After 2 days of printing good in CS5 it too began the dreaded "communication error".This did not happen until 2 weeks back. I spent days proving that the printer is "communicating" just fine. New cables, other programs etc. The printer driver has been reloaded dozens of times. The machine has been rebooted daily.
I do not think it has any relevance however,

Nov 9, 2011Plotting to layout (as opposed to extents or window) is infuriating. I cannot get my drawing to center properly within the printable area, and I can find no consistency on how AutoCAD is offsetting my drawing. My titleblock is drawn with a trim line of 22x34". I choose the ANSI D sheet size which is 22x34" and when I preview the plot the bottom left corner is offset from the bottom left corner of the printable area by .25, .25.
If I delete the 22x34 trim line from my titbleblock and replace it with a simple point at the 0, 0 bottom left corner, then when I check the layout and printable area, the point shows up offset from the bottom left corner of the printable area by .0006, .0016. Why is it any different than when a line was drawn? If I delete the point the offset from the bottom left corner of the printable area to the closest drawn element then becomes .0013, .0012.
This is absolutely ridiculous. I want to batch plot and I want to have proper margins, but it seems nothing renders consistently and I am stuck with ill-formatted plots. I would love to batch plot to extents, but as I go through the setup, that is not an option for me, so I appear to be stuck with the layout, which I have never gotten to work properly since it was introduced. What is the trick to make it work?
I am just printing to Adobe PDF with the Acrobat printer.

Jul 25, 2012We have both 2012 and 2013 AutoCAD at work, and both versions are having the same problem. When adding favorites in Design Center, it does not show up. The shortcut is actually there if I browse using Windows Explorer, but it does not show up in Design Center. I guess this is some issue where shortcuts do not show up, which is beyond me because that is how the Favorites system is supposed to work.
I should add, this is not an issue on some of our older machines running AutoCAD 2009.

We create many custom sized parts that could be cut on a plasma (utilizing the circles for holes) or punched, assigning a crosshair tool to the point. Now we are switching to a laser, and want to etch a crosshair at this same location. Our solution has been to draw the crosshair and copy to each required location. Sometimes this may be 20 to 30 locations. Now I would like to know if there is a way to replace all of these circles with a crosshair. This could be a similar lisp file, or an easier manual operation. I know that I can select all of the circles using the filter command and specifying the radius. Dec 3, 2012I have a problem with a File in Autocad.
We have a dynamic block here at work that has a solid hatch in it. It is a simple block which only utilizes a dropdown menu.
This block is a circle with a solid hatch in it. However when I select the block via dropdown menu, the hatch is not solid, it is a bunch of lines originating from the center of the circle.
I have never had this problem before with this block and nothing has changed with the block.
It also works fine when I open up other drawings.
This tells me that there is a problem with the settings of this specific file but I cannot figure out what setting.
I believe the problem occurred because I brought my work home with me and I have different settings on my autocad (both ACAD 2011).

design Center - display order goes out the window. The inserted block is redefined but the rest of the drawing loses all its display order. sortents (127, 33, 51, etc) and displayorderctl does nothing, either before or after the block is redefined. hatches and blocks just jump to the front (display order shows as order of drawn not order as moved to) Regenall does nothing.
absolute nightmare with display order managed elevations (solid hatch, baconies, windows, multple buildings, all overlaying!!)
AutoCAD Inventor :: 2012 Won't Shut Down
Jan 2, 2012Just loaded Inventor 2012 on a new computer. It seems to work OK, I can open and close files with no problem, but as soon as I try to shut Inventor down It lock up. The only way to shut it down in using task manager. After I try to shut it down the normal way Inventor continues to consume memory, (memory usage reported in the task manager continues to increase in size)!
Also once it is terminated in task manager and then restarted, the Inventor memory usage reported in the task manager continues to increase in size with no files loaded? Never leveling off. I have monitored it for several minutes after starting it and it continues to steadily increase in memory usage.

The one you click to get the MRU list, the one you click twice to shut AutoCAD down? Is there a way to disable the shut down on 2nd click? I quite often click it once, wait for a couple of seconds with nothing happening so click it again only to watch AutoCAD disappear.
