After Effects :: How To Shut Down PC Automatically After Render Finishes
Feb 1, 2014
i just want to know is there any way to shut down pc after render fisnihes in after effects cs6?
i usually start the render process and leave the pc and shut down after render process finishes but it would be great if there is any built in option to do so automatically.
Yesterday Ae was working perfectly. Today, Ae will not render compositions in the render queue or in AME? If I try to render from Ae,I get this error message:
and I can fin nothing about this error anywhere on line.
Is there anyway to make 3Ds Max automaticalliy render from certain cameras i specify?
lets sasy i want to render from camera 1, 2 , then 3. And i wont be using my PC for a long time, can 3Ds Max do this alone...like some kind of a render queue??
Application: 3Ds Max 2010 GPU: ATI HD6970 RAM: 8GB OS: Windows 7 64-bit DX: 11
There seems not to be that option. I have a AE file that is 4480x192 and needs to stay this size! I have tried many converters, but they seem to diminish the quality and change the size. The program this file will be put into ONLY accepts .avi.
I have been working on an animation project in AE and every time I click the Add to Render Queue option it does nothing. I have tried to export it as well, to see if it would render or export and it doesn't do anything. The only thing I can do is Save Frame As. I have been working on an animation previously and was able to Add to Render Queue to render out my animation, it has only been since I added some Automated UI Scripts for pre-animated kinetic typography and for line creation that it has not allowed me to render out anything. I have checked that the scripts are in the correct Script UI folder and they are and I have tried a few other things and nothing is working, .the only thing I can think it may be is my RAM is full or there's an issue with my render settings.
is there any chance to render with more than two machines in CS6? Trying to install a small (non commerial) renderfarm (3 machines) I got the message that´s not possible to render with only one licence!
I'm trying to render quicktime files and recieve this - After Effects error: Rendering error while wriring to file . Unable to open file. (-1610153459)
My rig i7 CPU 93- @ 2.800 2 x GeForce GTX 460 16 GB Ram
These are files which I've previously rendered without a hitch, this started yesterday. I've deleted folder in appdata with no success.
I can't get CS 6 to render on the farm after I installed AE CC. I did put the text file in place as described here, but this did not work:
o enable non-royalty bearing mode, place a blank file named ae_render_only_node.txt into one of the following locations, depending on the user account type:
#Install After Effects on the render-only machine.
I mostly work on my songs, they are 5 mins long the most, after adding all effect , transitions and etc, i send it to "Render Queue" to make a movie , everytime I send it to render queue to make a movie or render it, since my system is not all that , it takes about 20 hours to finish and I could watch my music video, but I was wondering if there is a short way to render my project or song, so I can b able to see the full song
The quality has to be decent, otherwise I won't be able to tell if the color correction I mde is good enough. If the final rendering takes that long, I don't mind b/c I am gonna be done with my song .Which will be a 720x480 quicktime HD.
my problem; when I use the filter; 'render'- lighting effects - it will no longer save any styles-(neither mine nor the pre-sets-they are gone).
Have tried reinstalling to different directory, etc but no avail. I can add lights and all during current session, but cannot save when i try, an error message just pops up and says"
Just upgraded to CS2 and went to Lighting Effects assuming to find the big drop down menu of styles, but the box is blank and also when I try to save a style I have made, it comes up with an error.
I have created a short 4 second comp and it all plays back fine until I actually try to render it. I've tried rendering the layer on it's own in a seperate comp and it disappears then as well and just becomes a white screen, but the original one when put into a comp works fine. I've spent hours editing it and putting it in place so i really don't want to start again.
I have a Comp, which admittidely is a render nightmare, with 64 instances of a the same video each 1 frame ahead of the next. So it's very RAM hungry and something of a balancing act between the number of CPUs and how much RAM each is allowed (but generally allowing 3GB per process and 1 less CPU than suggested)
The thing that is killing me though is the RAM Preview is going almost 3x faster than a normal render. Even when the normal render destination is an SSD and compression is None. otherwise exact same settings i.e. 100%, best quality.
The really interesting part is that when doing a MP RAM preview the CPU usage (as viewed in activity monitor) is a solid wall of green but when I do a standard MP render the CPU useage is fluctuating wildly. I've tried various dififerent MP options (all maintaining a safe RAM overhead for the sysytem) with very little difference in performance.
MacPRO 2x 2.26 QuadCore, OSX10.8.3, 32GB RAM, Proavio RAID for source, internal SSD for destination.
I have created a moving background and I am rendering it in PHOTO JPEG format but when I convert it to .GIF to post it on my website, it takes away all the high quality. It is a moving background, what is the best format to render it in to post it as the website's background?
I don't know what the best practices are for rendering, but I've got settings I prefer to use, and I want to set them as a default in AE, but can't seem to find that option
First, they deprecated h.264. it's really the only valid option for rendering tight compression to be viable size for uploading. but i enabled the feature to show old formats. What I need to do is set it so it automatically defaults to my settings. it's a real pain to have to manually change that every time I render.
Also, along these lines I have a related question. Well, related sort-of.
I use Adobe Media Encoder when i can, i realize this is one reason they deprecated h.264 fronm AE. BUt what I don't get, is why I can't render anything that's GPU heavy in ME? for instance, if I use Element 3d it will utilize the cuda cores heavily in my video card. But I can't render those in ME. when I try to I get many many many many back to back errors and it finally jsut fails. I have a supported video card, though not a 'top dog' it's a GeForce GTX 770 which is plenty to tackle the work.
If I have a render in progress and I alt tab or to premiere or open premiere/media encoder, the render in after effects wit hthe "happy ring of success" noise. but the file is incoplete and the render has stopped part way done.
I've never used a Photoshop psd image in AE CS6, but yesterday I did, thinking I could tweak more easily...it's a flat (non3D) one-layer image with alpha. I dragged it into the project. The layer has some intense rotation expressions if that matters. I can work on it fine, it plays using RAM preview and I can save a portion of it as a RAM Preview Save, which is also fine. But when I render to a video file, the object disappears complete....I just get a black screen.
Whenever I Render out a clip, the resultant file, when played back in quicktime is extremely bright.
I pretty much work in a standard comp for all my projects:
16bpc HDTV (Rec.709) 16-235 Linearize working space
I have some projects that i previously rendered, and what you see in the after effects project window, is basically what you get on render - untill now that is. When I render the project, i usually use: Render settings - Best settings
Output module Quicktime with H264 codec
I now want to render out the best possible lossless versions for more work - I am doing this so I can interpret interlaced footage into progressinve footage for my workflow. This is something found, to import the footage at 50FPS into a double frame rate comp. I then get discreet individual frames from the camera I am using. - But I say this just to explain why I want the best output for this part of the project. ( I have reset the preferences via CMD+Option+Shift on startup of AE) -
I just rendered a video last week with no issues. I updated After Effects CC a few days ago and now my PC shuts off about half way through a render. It is only a ten second clip with very little effects in it.
I have tried different video formats and codecs, I also tried to render the project in Media Encoder and Premiere Pro...the same result. My system is fine and I was rendering videos no problem until this update. Can we roll back updates?
it started about a week or so ago but when i tried using the lighting effects filter rather than showing a shadowy gradient effect like it usually does it is either pue blakc or just shwos an unnafected picture and when i play with the lighting rig or change slider settigns like texture for example it flickers back and forth like it's broken . but it works perfeclty in CS5 without a hitch.
i tried searching to see if others had a similar problem but all i got was that CS6 either didnt coem with it installed or the app doesnt display correclty. i dont know what to do i dont want to keep goign to an older photoshop just to use it's basic features.
PHOTOSHOP CS5.1 IN iMAC OS10.6 . I cannot use the filter Render - Light effects because it does not appear in the Render tag. On the other hand clicking the mouse right I can go to GET INFORMATION, but in the GENERAL SECTION , the option start with 32 bit DOES NOT APPEAR.
I owned this 5.1 version since some 18 months ago, and I am quite sure I succeeded in using the light effects in the past: What is happened and what can I do to fix the problem.
I applied an outer glow to my objects in illustrator but it just won't display.
I've hit some kind of hotkey that turns raster effects off or something, but I dont even know where to start looking. I've used glows in the past and its always a bit wonky but now it just wont do anything.
I've been using spot colors, but have tried it without to no effect, and I run windows 8. I want to apply it to the compound shape hammer time, I thought maybe it was not working because of the compound shape so I tried getting rid of my inside shapes, but its not really changing.
I did just notice that there is a weird haze around the top hammer time on this image, but ONLY if you turn your head and look at the monitor from a strange angle can you really see it. So it might just be that I screwed up my glow settings here.
I'm trying to get the glow to be very strong for about half an inch and the fade out.
I am working on a motion graphic, it contains a background a camrea and a couple 3d layers, when a I render it it a 2 of the 3d layers shake randomly. This does not happen in the preview. Using CS4
I am using After effects cs6 and when i try to choose a format there is no option to save as an image sequence. This goes for any clip I try to render. The picture below is where I am having the problem, under the format tab. There are only about 10 options under the tab and image sequence is not one of them.
I have simple composition that animates a two shapes that I am using as a "screen" to show photos. The shapes are 3D; the camera movement is minimal. I have an Ambient light and two Spot lights.
I am on a one year old i7 processor with 16 GB of RAM. Cache files are written to an SSD.
Still it is taking a long time to render (it's a three minute project and takes about 20+ hours to render), and there's no pics added - just the "screen".
The final project is similar to the many templates you can find that show photos/videos. It's basically a fancy slideshow, but unlike those you can buy, it will hold 25 to 30 pics.
Any thoughts on what I can do to either use something other than a 3D shape (but still keep it 3D) or change parameters or workflow to cut down the render time. . . I am pre-rendering the composition now (which will take the 20+ hours) but obviously, if I want to change anything with the movement or the overall length, it means another day of rendering.
