View 1 RepliesI upgraded to CS6 two weeks ago and so far I haven't recorded a single action that has not been EFFED UP in some way! I'll record the action on a test file, but when I run it on another file or a batch of files it will have at least one bizarre mistake...like the saturation will be set to 100%...or a channel in Selective Color might be set to -78%...or the opacity of a layer will be 100% instead of whatever lesser value I set it to when I recorded the action! I check the test file and it is always fine.

Does an Image Resize actually work when being 'played' back through an action?
I can not find how to set this new option I want record an action that records brush strokes... Its grayed out in my actions fly-out menu... Does it require OpenGL?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've been using PS for a long time now but never really had to use the actions in PS, now I know how to record actions in a specific order and whatnot, but I have a minor issue; I have about 2220 images I need to re-size, crop, cut certain pixels etc. etc. etc. out of - all these images are and will be the same size when I'm done, but the thing is I don't know how to get the program to do all the pictures on it's own.
My first step I recorder was opening the image, so I opened the first image, made all the required adjustments to it, saved it, and closed it. Now if I play the actions all over it opens the one image I opened when I did the recording and goes through the steps and that's it - but I want it to open the next image and go through the same steps, and the next one, and the next one and so on.
I just upgraded to CC from CS4. In CS4, when recording an action I could set the rulers to percent and a percentage-based value would be recorded rather than a pixel value. For example, if I recorded the creation of a vector shape that filled the entire canvas, the step in the action would create a 100% by 100% shape, starting at point 0%, 0%. This allowed me to run a batch on varying canvas sizes, and get a shape that filled the canvas no matter the size. In CC, it always records pixel-based values no matter what the rulers are set to.

1. Edit

Now I want it to wait for me to manually adjust the scale, then I'll hit "Enter" when I'm done.
CS6 seems to only record a path and pen pressure for brush scrokes fails to record brush size and color. When Actions are played the stroke will play with the current foreground color and the current brush size not the color and the size that should have been recorded.

I am working with CS6. Recently I have been recording a few actions that I like to run on a lot of my photos. Before I am done recording these actions I like to group them. Here is where the problem comes into play however...First time I play the action it shows up perfectly in the layer panel. The 2nd,3rd attempt an so on, the action that is grouped (the same action or another grouped action) will show up all jumbled in the layers panel. Sometimes the adjustment layers show up outside of the group while others the group appears to have "eaten" the first group of actions I ran. why can't I stack the actions I have written?
View 3 Replies View RelatedIs there any way to record a Photoshop maneuver like airbrushing onto an otherwise transparent layer so the end result is an animation? The real world equivalent of what I'm trying to do would be to have a video camera behind glass and a spray can spraying the glass from the other side.
I know there are programs that record what's on screen but I don't think they allow you to have a transparent layer. I may be able to use one of those programs and key out the non airbrush background. I'd like to be able to import the animation into Premiere so it looks like paint has been sprayed over whatever clip is underneath the airbrushing frames.
I was recording some actions for photoshop elements using paths and noticed something strange in photoshop cs6 13.01 on windows 8.
.
Recording an action of filling a path or making a selection from a path, didn't seem to record the settings.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Select the Rectangle Tool and set the option to paths in the tool options bar.
2. Draw out a rectangle.
3. Save the workpath in the paths panel by double clicking on the path thumbnail in the paths panel.
4. Make a new action and hit the record button.
5. Try using the Fill Path (from the flyout menu in the paths panel) with dialog and set to whatever option you want.
(i used 50% Gray in my test)
6. Try using the Make Selection with dialog from the flyout menu in the paths panel.
Neither action seems to record the parameters (settings). Playing back the action uses whatever the last settings were.
I expected the settings to be recored as photoshop 7 does (second action in the screenshot below) Photoshop cs6 13.01 is the first action shown.
I have trouble recording the brush strokes in PS CS2. The record action feature refuses to record brush strokes and similar actions. I tried to create a path and use the 'stroke path with brush' feature but it doesn't record the path. Any idea on how to get this working?

recording an action for a batch process.
The rubber stamp is not being picked up by the action. Is there a way to record

I have recorded an action that will automatically place a logo in the upper left corner of every image. There are 4 steps after pasting the logo onto the image (and before saving it):
1. Align current layer (using: top edges)
2. Align current layer (using: left edges)
3. Set selection (to: none)
4. Move current layer (to: 0.139 inches, 0.139 inches)
There are no errors when I use File > Automate > Batch on a large number of pictures. However, the problem I'm encountering is that it has recorded the "move current layer" measurements in inches. Since each picture is a different size, it's moving the logo much farther on some pictures than on others.
Is there a way to edit the actions dialog to use pixels when I'm recording an action? Or another alternative way to get it to record the location of the logo so that it's consistent no matter what the size of the picture?
There is still an issue with making new actions that include saving for web. While recording the action, save for web functions as it should. But once the action is played, regardless of the original format the saved image should be, it gives it an html filename extension.

I have spoken about this bug with a friend that is a computer programmer. Considering that the action is saving the file correctly, and it's only the name that is not saving properly indicates that this is a superficial error, and not an issue that would require rewriting the code completely. Also consider that this WAS functioning properly in CS5, and that this is a very easily reproducible bug.
Are actions created using the new "allow tool recording" option in PSCS6 backward compatible to previous versions? IOW, would an action created under CS6 using this option play correctly in CS4 or CS5 versions?

Can I record audio from a mic with pro x4
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am making a video tutorial on using a desktop publishing program. Everything is recording fine EXCEPT when I hover over a tooltip or click for a drop-down box. I can see the tooltips and drop-down boxes during the recording session, but (how odd!) VideoStudio doesn't record them.
When I play the wmv file, the cursor hovers over an invisible tooltip and the cursor moves down the invisible options in the invisible drop-down box.
I have used Camtasia for screen recording for a long time, however I purchased two 24 inch wide screen monitors with a resolution of 1920x1080. Camtasia recording will not record a full screen at this size.......in fact, they recommend 1280x720! So, I updated my VSP from x4 to x5 due to it now having screen capture. VSPX5 will not record full screen 1920x1080 at all (already mentioned in a previous post and currently under reveiw with Corel). It seems the limit is 1676x943 and even then, part of the screen is chopped off if one has a wide screen. Resolution has to be reduced. This is a PITA!
In order to do my screen recordings I either have to reduce the resolution which I do not like to do as it distorts everything on my screen, or reduce the size of the page to record and fit it within a custom size. Not the best, but it's a workaround.
A problem with recording narration has just started with my Pro X4. On playback the recording is not complete and the nearest description is that it is stuttering. I have tried recording several different phrases in different parts of the video and using two different mics but each time get this stuttering.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI used the Screen recording feature to record a little tutorial that is about 4 minutes long. I was shocked, when I watched it afterward, to hear that the sound, although fine at the start, gradually becomes fainter, higher pitch, and overall totally unusable. I thought it was just a fluke but I tried it with 3 videos, and I always get the same problem. I used the settings by default, changing only the file name and location.
Is there more to set for the screen capture to work correctly?
