Photoshop :: Printing :: Print Appears Pinkish An No Normal Colors
May 1, 2004
I bought a new computer and got Photoshop Elements 2.0 with it. Great program. My problem is a friend said that Photoshop 6.0 is better. I asked to try this program . I loaded his program on my machine and started to print. All of a sudden my prints appear to be pinkish color and no normal colors. I looked on the web for an answer. Could this program be illegal and something is changing my colors?

I have a problem when I print documents regardless of the printer I use.
If the document is on the network, colors are printing in black.
But if I copy this document locally on my computer, colors are printing normally.
Note : I'm using AutoCAD 2012 LT

Just wanted to print a new photo and realized that the colors in print preview do not match the colors in soft proofing. In both cases I selected the same icc profile and rendering method. The print colors matched the colors in print preview. I never had a problem so far. All new prints will be checked with soft proofing and adjusted when necessary. I never paid attention to the color rendition in print preview and all prints perfectly matched the colors from the soft proofing. I was surprised when my print came out of the printer and the colors weren't matching the soft proofing colors, but that of the print preview.
I don't understand why Photoshop renders the colors differently in the first place. See attached screenshot for the difference in the blue/cyan colors. I don't care if the print view colors will match the print, but I do care when soft proofing is not working.

So I am working on this document and it has silver background. I go to print preview (Photoshop cs3 and cs4 on Vista) and I get color looking more like bronze looking but when I do print, it comes out just like it should (in working mode which is Monitor RGB with Proof colors checked).
This setting is the only one I've used to make sure image/psd looks exactly like what it should when printing. I tried the default Working CMYK with and without Proof colors but it's still showing me the bronze look instead of silver. I've looked on the net and no exact easy fix for this was found. I really really appreciate any help.
Another simple question is regarding size. I'm working on a document size of 17.5 x 8.7 inches and the actual Banners will be printed at size 175 x 87 inches (5 banners each at 35inch wide but combined into a big one). So essentially, I'm working at 10% the size of what the final print will be and my file size is 760mgs. You can only imagine how big the file would be if I work on the actual size.

I am working on a project that is a large print of about 30 inches wide and 20 inches in height.
(I just wrote a big post but for some reason when I tried posting it the forum logged me off and it didnt post so I wont get too detailed here.)
Basically I need to print the image for example using 9 piece of normal paper and stick it together with transperant tape to make a large image.
Is there a way to do this without the need to cut the borders on each page, I really would like to print borderless pages and not cut them.

Wether it's possible to spread the pixels colors considering the normal vector of the selection curve ?
I post an image that would be the approximate result of what i imagine.

When printing from PS CC using the print dialogue box I am getting a severe red shift in the final print. When I print the same image from PS CS5 or CS6 I get a color-correct print.
I am running a MacPro with OS 10.7.5, and printing to a Canon iPF8300 with its latest firmware and print driver. I am using the proper ICC profile for the paper. In the print dialogue box, I select "Photoshop Manages Colors".
A couple things I noticed: In the "Print Settings" where I dial in the printer setup, the settings for "Color" are both turned off (Colorsync & Vendor). In the printer driver settings (still within "Print Settings") the "Color" tab is grayed out, but when I click the "Settings" for that sub-panel, Colorsync is selected. When I printed the image from the Canon PS Plug-in, the red cast was gone, but the blacks were too heavy (there is no "Black Point Compensation" check box available because the Canon plug-in uses Adobe Color Engine for that, and it's only 32-bit and won't run).

We recently upgraded to Civil 3d 2014 and have had a strange box show up after printing to PDF. We use Acroplot to print to PDF. Please see attachment. It has only happened to 3 users so far and one user's system stopped doing it.
Also experience a slow open and processing initially when you made the switch to 2014 (we upgraded from 2011 c3d). We suspect it may be a conversion of files causing this. Many of the xrefs or DS have not been saved in 2014.

In PS CS4 Mac, I used to be able to print the full document info that appears in the title bar, including the currently selected layer/group. This would print at the top of my document and might look like:
File Name.psd 100% (layer name, RGB/8)
I always thought this was a function of selecting "Label" in the Output window of the print dialogue box. However, it does not seem to be working anymore, and now it simply prints the file name, like this:
File Name.psd
How can I turn this feature back on so that I get the entire document window? Or another method to accomplish something similar? I am printing individual layers from a single document and having them automatically "labeled" is useful.
Mac OS 10.6.8

In my version of X6 32-bit, there is a problem with the icons in Print Layout, they're not the normal icons, but one's used when tying as script to an icon.
I have re-set X6, using the Shift key method, but the problem is still there. I can use the menus and print, but those icons don't belong there.

Everything is calibrated. That is not an issue.
When I work the photo (JPG, TIFF or PSD) to where it is what I want, the preview is darker in the print preview. Probably one f/stop in photo terms. And, THIS is how it actually prints.
What is causing that? And, is there a fix?
None of the "show paper color," etc. are checked, so that is not causing the difference.

I have just bought and installed Lightroom 5 and need to set my print size to A3 and in the future even bigger. I do not have the facility at home and need to have them sized correctly for the print shop so they do not have to waste time resizing them. I am at a loss how to do this. I cant find any settings for this size print. A3 is roughly 42 x 29.7 cm.

I'm doing a graphic for a box package in Illustrator. The background color is the #333333, with big words in grey using #666666. When I brought the image to a print shop to test it, the colors turned out kinda greyish green. The print file is in CMYK. Any ideas why this happened? and how do I fix it?

I'm running Windows 7 64Bit running Adobe CS5 Master Collection. But ever since I allowed CS5 Photoshop to control my printer (HP Photosmart Prem 310-C) to do a test print of a graphic that I created all of my Blues print a violet/blue color, no matter what color blue. It has even affected MS Word & MS Project when I try to print blue colored font or Gantt Chart blues will no longer print blue, but will print the same blue/violet color. I've even tried a brilliant blue which will all view great, but prints the same shade of violet blue! All my colors and Blues will view great! I've calibrated my monitor and I've reset my printer several times and still the same thing! I never had this problem before I downloaded Adobe CS5! A strange thing is that I can run check printer test and the data & image that is stored in the printer will print blues perfect, including running a copy direct from the scanner bed and it will produce perfect blues. I almost feel as though Adobe CS5 has possessed my PC and printer, how do I get it back to printing like it did before installing CS5 Master Suite?

I have a Canon Rebel t3 and when I try to import my pictures they all have a pinkish hue to them. I have looked at all the settings and they are all set to their default. So I went to UFRaw site to see if my camera was supported and it looks like it is not. I was told to download a DNG converter which I did, it was update 6.4. Unfortunately, when I try to open this it says "Update not applicable".

I recently updated my operating system to MAC OS 10.8 and as a result, Photoshop 5.5 no longer prints colors accurately. I corresponded with the tech department at Adobe for more than a week and we determined that my user settings did not migrate properly when I upgraded, resulting in skewed colors when printing from Photoshop. In running tests, we made a new "root" user and Photoshop printed correctly when using that user. How to fix my user settings/profiles so that my paper and printer profiles operate correctly in MAC OS 10.8 when printing from Photoshop?

I only do photo quality prints to Epson matte a few times a year so I run test prints with various settings to get what I want. My granddaughters wanted some prints from a web site framed and my wife wanted prints of an emailed photo of their old mountain cabin. I had to do some color manipulation of the cabin, but the web site images had been expertly processed and all I had to do was print properly.
I experimented with the cabin image print settings. Epson changed the names of all their papers, so the Epson print profiles in the print dialog didn't match the name on the matte paper box. I deciphered that, but I wasn't happy with the result so I tried two of the other Epson profiles and hated it. There's quite a long list of profiles available, some specific, and some just conventional color spaces like sRGB, aRGB. For the heck of it I tried Pro Photo RGB as a printer to paper profile. The print of the cabinimage with an embedded aRGB profile was everything I could want. I did the web site sRGB images the samwe way and they were really nice.
The puzzle is this: What does using Pro Photo RGB as an instruction to the printer cocerning what it is printing to thru Photoshop even mean? The printer has never heard of the colors possible in Pro Photo, and the source image is in sRGB ( verified by Photoshop). I can conceive that an RAW image should be rendered as aRGB for inkjet and that the inkjet has some blues that are outside the aRGB, but I can't understand telling an inkjet to use Pro Photo to print sRGB.

After changing picture to black and white or any other color change the picture will print some of the original colors especially greens and tans. This occurs when changing a jpg file or using layers. It did not happen in CS2 using the same Epson printer and the same printer settings.

GIMP 2.6.11 on both win7 and macos 10.6.x exports/saves (with "Save as...") .gif's with pinkish background hue; no apparent problem with .png export/save. fwiw, we did uncheck "Save background color" for .png's as per [URL] ... . See no such option for .gif's that we have yet to find.
What's happening and/or what we might be doing wrong for .gif's? (eg, monitor calibration, etc?)

I have been printing with an epson [artisan 50] for a long time, always great colors on my pc.
just switched to a mac and latest version of ps cs6 and my prints are not color correct [very muted colors on the print] It is definitely not the printer [prints perfect from otherc applications]
I have tried many of the settings / color management options, but none seem to do the job. Right now I have it set on 'photoshop manages color' and then for printer profile my printer type with correct paper.
I don't know what to do- share their knowledge on color management/printing

I have been using Photoshop for years, and as far as color management, everything has always been pretty true to what i see on my monitor. Recently however, pictures look good in Photoshop, but when i upload them to the internet, or print them the colors are muted and have a gray cast to them. I have tried using different color proof settings based on the labs I use to print, but it always ends up the same.
I have used both sRGB and AdobeRGB on my camera, both have the same result. I don't know what changed, if I changed a setting inadvertently.

I have two files that should be the same color and they are maddeningly different. The RGB values of the colors are the same, they are both RGB 8-bit files, but the file with the wacky colors reads "RGB/8#" on top of it's window frame and the other reads "RGB/8*". The Color Settings are both set to sRGB IEC61966-2.1. Why? What does that number symbol mean?

Hello! I am using Photoshop CS4 and I have a Canon Pixma MP160 printer. I go through a company, GotPrint.com, to print all my brochures and business cards but it seems what I send them is never what actually prints out. I understand that LCD monitors show a different display, being RGB instead of CMYK?? but how do I match it close enough? I have been trying to print out my new brochure on my printer at home until I get it to print the colors I want - but it's a huge hassle & a major ink cost changing all the colors (mostly brown for some reason) to look good printed even though it looks terrible in photoshop. I've tried setting it in the print window to Photoshop Manages Color instead of printer. In the profile drop down I was told to select one with my printer name in it instead of working CMYK profile. But I have about 10 different ones and none of them say CMYK or anything special. Can anybody point me in the right direction to learn the best way to do this?

I'm creating a DCS 2.0 EPS file in photoshop CS6, and when I assign PANTONE colors to the channels, it glitches out when I print it from illustrator CS6.
Certain colors randomly will not print any data.
So I renamed the channels in the DCS EPS file and removed the PANTONE Spot color data, and that seemed to fix the issue. Is there a patch that fixes this issue?
