I have two files that should be the same color and they are maddeningly different. The RGB values of the colors are the same, they are both RGB 8-bit files, but the file with the wacky colors reads "RGB/8#" on top of it's window frame and the other reads "RGB/8*".  The Color Settings are both set to sRGB IEC61966-2.1. Why? What does that number symbol mean?Â
View 2 RepliesI've got a catalog that work fine in LR4.4, but when I try to upgrade them to LR5 I get the error, "Lightroom couldn't update the format of its catalog file because the file appears to be damaged."  The catalogs aren't damaged as they work perfectly in LR4.4. I urgently need to update them to a new mac with LR5.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an image that I worked on in CS6 Extended, and then I flattened the layers, and 'saved-as' a PDF file. Then I opened the pdf file and there's a magenta colored outline going around the entire border of the image.

Why is that? I can't remeber that happening anytime before now but I will say that I did mess around with the Reader tools and Nav bar settings not too long ago. Did i set something off that I shouldn't have?

File name appears at bottom of video ?
I new to VS X5 Pro. I have a very basic question, I'm sure.... Is it possible to not have the computer file name of the video appear at the bottom of the video for the first few seconds? It does fade away but is not acceptable to be there at all. Is this a Windows 7 config issue or something in VS?

I am using PMS colors, and the company printing the stickers said if I want a job to print in PMS colors I need to submit a PMS file. They don't accept CMYK or RGB files if there are PMS colors used. What do I choose under image > mode for this? I need to keep it as a layered file, and I notice that choosing index color requires me to flatten the image.

I have the colour settings from the Edit menu set to "always optimize for printing". The file information shows the camera data as colour space sRGB.

I am using canon inks (all full) and canon matte photo paper and I selected the matte photo paper on the paper type in printer settings.

I have printed good photos before on this printer (I think using photo gallery) but was not using photoshop elements at the time. Does it make any difference if the photo is saved as a jpeg file or a pse file?
I am working on a project for my online class and am having difficulties with the History Brush. Note that both files are identical in size etc.

1. I created a color text file and saved it with a specific name.

2. I copied an existing photo from iPhoto, as I couldn't import into PhotoShop, and pasted it in a new file. I then removed the white background layer and then saved it with its now specific name and closed the file.

3. I re-opened the Color Text File.

4. I then re-opended my photo.

5. I performed a "Select All" from the menu bar of my active Photo then selected Edit - Copy and then closed my Photo file.

6. From my Color Text File I selected Edit and then Paste from the menu bar.

7. I selected Layer and Flatten Image from the menu bar.

8. I right clicked the background image from the Layers Panel and created a snapshot (which is my photo)

9. I selected the History brush and verified that this also displayed in the gray box associated with the Color Text file within the History Panel.

10. I verified that my photo image was displayed in my work area.

11. I start to fill the photo with my History Brush and the only color I get is White.
I am having a little trouble with the pdf I created in Illustrator. See images below for explanation. It's only happening to certain text. How can it be fixed, and how to prevent it from happening again?
I get this as thumbnail image on my desktop and in Finder, when I click space bar to quick view, and when its preview as an attachment in an email.

using illustrator cc, on a series of illustrations, i am placing an ai file with my color pallette into all of my files (if i update the pallate, all files will have the corrected version). when i place the pallette file, the cmyk values are slightly off. all files are cmyk. seems like a bug, reminds me of placing illustrator into photoshop, and colors values would be ever so slightly off.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI work in prepress. I have an Illustrator CS6 file that is made up of 3 Pantone Spot colors. I save the file as an eps from Illustrator and rip the file with our prepress software. When previewing the ripped file with our prepress software it shows me that I have process colors (CMYK) somewhere in the file. I can not see these colors visually in the ripped file so I go back to Illustrator to see if I can edit them out of the file. I use the Preview Separations tool but can't find those process colors anywhere. There are no placed images, everything is vector art. I double check any white color and make sure it doesn't have any tiny percentage of process color in it. I make sure my spot colors are indeed spot colors and not process colors. I add used colors, I delete unused colors. I can't find the CMYK being used anywhere in my Illustrator file. How to clean up these "hidden" colors? This was also a problem in CS3. I'm using an iMac 2.5 GHz Intel Core i5, Mac OS X, Version 10.7.5
View 4 Replies View RelatedI jumped from using Windows XP with CorelDraw 11 to Windows 7 with CorelDraw 16, and ever since then, I have been having problems with colors changing in my PDF files. Before I send the file, I open it in Adobe Acrobat Pro to make sure the colors look correct, and they look fine..., but the person who is receiving the PDF tells me that when they open up the file, the colors change (usually to black), or nothing appears at all. What is up with this? I use Pantone Solid Coated colors in my PDF files because that is what we use to match our silk screening inks.Â

I'm using Corel Draw X4 with the SmartDesigner X4 add-on package. Also, I recently added a sublimation printer to the mix. But, it doesn't seem to matter which printer I send the image to, the colors are faded in Corel draw even before I attempt to print.
Some colors such as yellow are being replaced with other colors in the CMYK palette.
