I cannot see my photo in my display/work area when I open one, what could be causing this? It displays that a photo is open in my layers panel, but I can see nothing on my screen.

I've noticed that once I'm deep into a many layered project that I can't click on a specific layer in the work area but need to click on the layer I want to work on in the layers palette. Is this something new in PSE12 or do I need to change something in Preferences?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI upgraded to elements 11, and am having a great deal of difficulty seeing the icons, with the 3 different colors of gray and light blue icons.it is all running together and taking a long time to find things. PSE9 did not have this issue. I was able to change the background area only.can we custom the colors, or is their a app that will let us.

1) Displaying Keywords for a photo - In PSE, the properties panel can list all the Tags associated with a photo. The only way I can see the keywords for a photo in LR is to go to the keywords list, expand all the sub levels and look for check marks. Is there a simpler/easier way?
2) Displaying a photo for a keyword - I have a keyword which has a count of 1 against it. If I try to filter by that keyword (by clicking the right arrow next to the count) nothing is displayed. I tried making a collection with just the keyword specified and it contains one photo but again nothing is displayed. I suspect that it might be something to do with version sets brought over from PSE but I've tried unstacking everything and still can't find the photo.
Been working with PSE11 for a few months. Yesterday it developed a problem. I can no longer click on the layer in the main work area but have to go to the layer panel to select it. What do I need to do to change this back to where it works like it should??

View 3 Replies View RelatedI was going through an exercise and tried to use one of the listed shortcuts to viewing (Alt+LMB+click) and it made the Maya workarea screens dark grey. My attempted efforts to find out how to undo this failed.
Not sure if I mis-typed the above or what. Only the work areas are dark gray.
Sometimes when I work on a complex design project, I've notice that after I save and re-open my file, some of my work area was rasterize and uneditable.

We can use the Gross Building Area - but this includes the external walls - and doesn't update as the external wall envelope is added to. Ideally we would like a like reporting on the total internal area as the design / model is progressed.
while tracing a plan on Autocad 2010, by accident I clicked on something, or performed some unknown commands. My lines, that were smooth just seconds before, suddenly became really pixelated, as if made of many small segments. And when rendering the plan on pdf, it is still the same, and the lines are really thick. I have checked, the line thickness is on default (0.25mm), but compared to renderings I've done before, this time the drawing has really awful lines.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI and my colleguaes had found that crop tool in Lightroom 5 works less logical than in previous versions. As we had found, if we use crop once setting preset aspect (for example 3:4) and than if we'll try to crop once again with another ascpect (for example 16:9) it will be croped in correct proportion but just within the frame of previous crop. So if we do 4 crops with different aspect one by one, we'll got a very tiny part of picture. In previous versions of Lightroom, every next crop takes the maximum area of the photo.

If I have a photo taken with a digitala camera at 6 megapixel and I want to load it on Photoshop for a few tweaks and adjustments what resolution should I assign? I usually choose 200 pixels/inch.
Secondly, does it affect the image if the resolution assigned on Photoshop is lesser than the camera resolution?
I do not take prints of my Photoshop works. Just in case I need to print them I need to make sure that the resolution is appropriate.

View 2 Replies View Relatedwhen the eyedropper is selected, and the 'Select sample' button is pushed, no marquee is drawn when selecting the area to be sampled.Actually, it will often leave an XOR artefact at the beginning of the rectangle where the mouse is first clicked. (At WM_LBUTTONDOWN) this would be fixed in update #2 as I use this feature all the time, and having no marquee makes it very awkward to use.It should be an easy fix as marquees are drawn successfully when selecting a rectangular mask area and the Rectangle tool etc., and it seems sensible to me to call the same subroutine for all rubber rectangle actions.

I am not sure what it is called but what I am talking about is the space in the middle of the program where photos open up into (not the workspace option which changes the menu bar colours of which I am using the blue option.) At the moment the centre area is a charcoal colour. When I am editing a photo which is smaller than this space it is surrounded by this colour and it makes it hard for me to see the thin black border which I place around some photos. Can I change the colour of the editing area to white?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am using lightroom 4 and 5 on a Mac. Although preview of photos to be imported is shown I only get the message that the import could not be carried out (1) and the option to save the data as a :txt file. This was with Lightroom 4. It started first with being unabel to import directly from the camera, then I swithched to inserting the SD card directly into the laptop. This worked only after first downloading to the desktop. Later this didn't work either. I thought the program had become defect. Preview still worked and export is fine. I therefore updated to Lightroom 5 in the hope that this would solve the problem. However everything remains the same. Import still doesn't work with photos of any format. e.g. jpg or RAW.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI just tried to do some work in X5 and when I tried to add a drop shadow to beveled text, you can't edit the drop shadow. The shadow tool bar is grayed out except for the presets drop down. Also when I try to export an image the program add pixels to the image.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI just began editing a portrait shoot and realized that my paintbrush effects only work on about the bottom 1/3rd of my photo.
The little target with the plus sign in the middle shows up when I mouse over this photo from the mouth down, but when I mouse over the top part it turns back into the normal cursor. If I start using the brush at the bottom of the photo where the target/plus sign actually shows up and then drag it to the forehead, it works. But if i unclick at all it goes back to the original problem.
I am using Lightroom 4.
