Been working with PSE11 for a few months. Yesterday it developed a problem. I can no longer click on the layer in the main work area but have to go to the layer panel to select it. What do I need to do to change this back to where it works like it should??

I've noticed that once I'm deep into a many layered project that I can't click on a specific layer in the work area but need to click on the layer I want to work on in the layers palette. Is this something new in PSE12 or do I need to change something in Preferences?

View 1 Replies View RelatedIn previous versions of PS you used to be able to press CMD (i'm mac based) and drag the mouse to select all the layers that are within the area you drag to.
This is great for sorting out files, grouping layers etc as you can lock/hide layers as you go. Problem now is that in Photoshop CC it also selects locked and invisible layers - which didn't use to happen so actually its completely ruined this method.
when i select diffrent layers,the layer's name in toolbar does not change, i can not change the layer, color,and other settings.my autocad version is 2006 and 2007.

PSE9 did not have this issue. I was able to change the background area only.can we custom the colors, or is their a app that will let us.

I selected the quick selection tool and drew a complete circle around the object I want to copy from this photo and to paste the selected area to the layer. However, I get a pop up box stating that the copy command cannot be completed because no pixels we selected.
I followed book and online instructions on selection tool uses while in Layers and can't seem to get past this pop up box.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI use PSE9 for digital scrapbooking. Lately, when I have several pictures and elements on the page, I have to click on the Layers Pallette to select an item to move. If I don't click on another item, the item I have just selected will move when I move my mouse. I used to be able to click on an element or picture on the page and move it.
View 3 Replies View RelatedIn X4 I could set the pallettes I wanted (layers and History) to a docked position on the RHS. With X6 the pallettes cover the RH part of the window and the image, with the opened image centred on the whole screen so that the RH part is cut off. It can't be centred within the area visible when the pallettes are open. This gives a smaller visible image if the whole image is in view. This is a serious issue, which X4 handled ok ! I've tried all the options but cannot get X6 to behave like x4

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I have a masked layer and try to drag-select other items on other layers outside of it, it still gets selected if the image area happens to be located within the selection range. Or in other words: why would anything outside of the masked area get selected at all, when the point of a mask in not just to hide what's outside, but also to 'deactivate' it,so that the masked area is all we are working with. This didn't happen before, may be those were older versions of photoshop.

The gif I am working with is a square shape with a green background and on that is a white circle shape with lettering going around it and a small pic inside the circle shape. is there a way of changing the green to another color and keep the white thread? I'll have to eventually make several versions of different 'main' colors, all keeping that 'thread'.
[the actual image is 3000 x 600 px; a continuous 'wave' pattern like the sample.]

I believe in earlier versions if you wanted to change a sublayer into a main layer you could just drag and drop. But I don't see any way in CS6 to change a sublayer into a main layer.

Currently when I try to use a selection and a filter (blur filter) it will only let me effect one frame at a time. The one frame is under the affected video area. View 1 Replies View RelatedIn Photoshop Elements 11 for Dummies the main display area (Figure 1-2) has an area to the right with the headings Keyword Tags and Information, and down below that Image Keywords. My version of PSE 11, which I just bought, does not show this area to the right of the main display area. Also, the main display area includes a bunch of frames with names like "A_Taste_of_Sicily.mp3". But now it automaticly selects the first placed base model as the model to select the mass. how can i change the 'active' model to another model/base view?
