Photoshop :: Elements 5.0 - Emailing Pictures
Sep 16, 2013I have been emailing my pictures for quite some time. I would select a picture right click the mouse and open the picture with Adobe Photoshop Elements 5.0 Then I would enhance the picture and resize the picture to 950-733 pixels. I would then go to file and put "Save As" when the prompt came up I would put in example bus-1 and hit ok I would go up top and close back to my pictures. When I would write an email and attach the picture I could identify it as bus-1 and it would be resized to 950--733 pixels for emailing. But now when I Save as all of the pictures come up in that file and I cannot find Bus-1. It must have changed and I don't know why.

Jul 1, 2006I dragged a few psd files in to my emails program attachment window and they were instantly converted into very small jpegs 12k, that looked great!
But then hour later, it didn't work, sign came up saying this layered file not accepted by e mail program, (even though flattened psd file)
So then took psd file and made a jpeg, but coming out at 80 kb and don't look as good.

Jul 5, 2012I am a contractor that does work for several different companies. When these companies send me their dwg file I have no problem opening them up to edit them, but once I complete my edits and email the file back to them they are telling me that their autocad crashes while trying to open the drawing or the whole computer itself. Most recently I only made a very minor edit to their dwg which was editing two areas of text and still crashes their computer when I send it back. I am using Autocad lt 2013, while they are using autocad 2010. I backsaved the file as well was purged the drawing after I was finished and still no luck. Also I noticed on another job after doing very minor edits, once I saved the new version the file file sized multiplied like ten thousand times its size.

Nov 20, 2013When trying to place an image into a new document in photoshop elements 12, I select all-copy-paste the image (or even drag it) over to the new doc created. However, when I do this - the image does not paste in at the same size. It typically shrinks down in size. Do I have to save the file, close out and then open the new doc and PLACE it in the document in order for it to keep size? There must be a better way to do this. Basically, how can I drag a photo that is 4x6 over to a new doc while keeping the size at 4x6.

If I have a photo taken with a digitala camera at 6 megapixel and I want to load it on Photoshop for a few tweaks and adjustments what resolution should I assign? I usually choose 200 pixels/inch.
Secondly, does it affect the image if the resolution assigned on Photoshop is lesser than the camera resolution?
I do not take prints of my Photoshop works. Just in case I need to print them I need to make sure that the resolution is appropriate.

Jan 14, 2014I did use the scissors and eraser tool to cutout unwanted background, and now I have an image I want to save and copy to another photo. The problem is that Elements 11 won't let me open up another photo at the same time, or let me copy the selected image to clipboard to paste on a different photo.

Dec 10, 2012I have PSE 11 and I am creating a Christmas theme with various pictures. I have my main photo with 6 layers including a tree and figures which I can move independantly and the background is the checkerboard as the main layers are turned off with only my selections showing. I also have another photo where I have selected part of it and also turned off the main layers leaving a small part with checkered background. When I have the main photo loaded and drag the other one from the photo bin with the move tool, nothing appears on the main picture. I have already dragged the Christmas tree in the same way and that worked. By the way, all the files are .PSD.

Dec 10, 2012I have Photoshop Elements 10 which I work with sparingly. I would like to outline a section of the photo (a face) and somehow select it to be the whole photo - in other words to get rid of all background elements. I can outline the area with lasso, but do not know how to just save that area. When I save, the whole original photo is saved. I also tried the magic extractor, which really worked to make just the face and crop everthing else out, but it has a white background the same size as the original photo, which means it is essentially a reactangle with a face in it. I am trying to just get the face so I can paste it into a document, sort of like when people put heads on fake bodies. This is for a church newsletter. I have done this with my old Picture It software, but that was on my old computer. I think I should be able to do this with all the gadgets Photo Shop has, but I must be missing something.

Although preview of photos to be imported is shown I only get the message that the import could not be carried out (1) and the option to save the data as a :txt file. This was with Lightroom 4. It started first with being unabel to import directly from the camera, then I swithched to inserting the SD card directly into the laptop. This worked only after first downloading to the desktop. Later this didn't work either. I thought the program had become defect. Preview still worked and export is fine. I therefore updated to Lightroom 5 in the hope that this would solve the problem. However everything remains the same. Import still doesn't work with photos of any format. e.g. jpg or RAW.
