I cut and pasted a pie chart from MS Excel into PS, but when it prints, the imagery looks very low res, with jagged lines and text. Is there anything I can do differently, or is this a limitation due to Excel?
View 9 RepliesCopying an excel chart (2010 and/or 2013, Windows 7 Ultimate) to Illustrator CS6 works okay if line chart lines are solid... but if they are dotted, then in Excel 2010, the dotted line becomes jumbled, and in Excel 2013, the dotted line converts to a solid line... is the only solution to this to save the excel chart as a pdf, or is there another workaround?
Essentially, I am creating a chart in excel and adding a few notations and graphic elements in illustrator for professional publishing..
If I was to make a chart in excel or word can I insert this into autoCAD and have it so I can adjust this in CAD?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have some trouble with copy/paste charts from Excel 2010 into Illustrator CS5. I can move things around, but I can not change the colours in Illustrator. The chart is shown as a picture graphic, not a vector in Illustrator. Also when I save the Excel chart in a PDF and try to open it in Illustrator CS5 it is still a picture, not a vector graphic. Where is the bug? (I am using Windows 7.)
View 8 Replies View RelatedWhen I copied and pasted charts from excel, the lines are all doubled. This is the first time I got this. I could not figure out what is the difference between these double lines and the regular lines. Any clues how to change the lines to regular ones. I am using AI CC.
There is no difference in Excel.
I have an MS Word 2011 document with an Excel pie chart embedded.Double-clicking the pie chart will open it in Excel 2011.Copying/pasting the chart into Illustrator CS6 results in an uneditable bit image.
Previously, with Word 2008 and Illustrator CS2, this worked perfectly. Mind you, I had tons of excess empty paths and such to scrape out, but still, after a couple of minutes' scraping, I had an editable .ai file ready to be cleaned up, captions typeset, and colors edited for export to .eps and placement in InDesign
In fact, right now I've had to jump over to my old iBook G4 to open my old copies of Word 2008 and Illustrator CS2 in order to do this so I can get this job out the door.Is there any way at all that I can get an Excel 2011 pie chart into Illustrator CS6 as a vector image?
I've tried the shift-click on "Copy Picture" method, but the pie chart still appears as a bit image, and the text is turned to gibberish. Saving the chart as a pdf returns the same results.
At this point in the project, asking for the raw data set and regenerating the pies in Illustrator isn't an option -- and besides, I've had to do that before. Oh, the pain.
I was wondering if there was a way to import excel datat into illustrator, then it populates a vector pie or bar chart for me?

I have an embeded excel chart on my drawing called CLASS 125 Single Disc.xls. I want to switch this chart with another one known as CLASS 150 Single Disc.xls. How do I do this? I am using Autodesk Inventor 2011.

When importing a pie chart - the chart imports OK, but the pie elements import as low resiolution non-vector elements. Is there a way to import as 100% vector elements? View 5 Replies View RelatedThe calibri font used for graphs in Excel are not recognized when the graphs are copied into Adobe Illustrator. Other than changing the font to arial or another font. I upgraded from CS4 to CS6 on my mac and I still get the same error, "An unknown shading type was encountered," and the letters in the chart get substituted with jumbled symbols. I've tried copy the chart directly from excel to illustrator as well as saving it as a pdf or postcript file and then opening in illustrator. But neither approach works.
A friend managed to open the chart in Illustrator (CS5 on a mac) which gave the prompt that it cannot read the font and that it will display it as outlines. This worked and the text was displayed properly. But for some reason I never received this promopt whether using illustrator from CS4 or CS6.
We are using Office 2013 and PS CS6. We have a problem where we copy and paste Thai text from an Excel doc into Photoshop CS6. The text copies over fine but there are small double stacked characters on some letters that merge when copied. Here's an example showing Excel on the bottom and PS CS6 on the top. Notice the red character in the Excel doc. The small double stack characters merge once copied into PS CS6:

I have just upgraded from CS3 to CS5 and I'm running into a major issue. When I used to copy charts from Excel into Illustrator CS3 it would paste in as vector artwork, but now with CS5 it pastes in as a jpeg image.
I'd like the excel charts to paste in as they used to with CS3 as vector artwork with paths, strokes and text.
I am using Corel Draw X5. When I paste an Excel graph into Corel the resolution looks terrible. I can paste this same graph into most other programs and it looks fine. No matter what I do and no matter which special paste command I use I am not happy with the resolution of the graph - you can actually see the pixels. When I convert to PDF you can still see the pixels.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to paste in things like "N.G.", "Top of Bank", "Edge of Water" all at certain points to annotate the topography. I've tried the following:

But I keep getting the prompt for annotation angle and it gets stuck there so I tried:
text N.G 800,90 90
text Top of Bank 820,90 90
But the same thing occurs. I need the text to be vertical. I've done some searching here, but haven't come up with much. I don't want to resort to creating blocks and importing the attributes as I'm sure it's much easier than that.
I tried many times to paste excel table into autocad using paste special/paste link/autocad entities/. The first problem is that the table is coming out with text all over the place, not properly formatted. When I click on the table it's covered by some kind of frame or hatch-like. I am using 2010 Office pro Excel. See attached.

After downloading some language packs the Excel file shows up correctly on my PC. I want to copy and paste the file into Corel. It works fine except some characters show up as a question mark. Most characters (80%) show up fine however.
I have Windows XP, Office 2003, Corel X5, and no understanding of the Chinese language.
I have an issue with copying cells containing text from Microsoft Excel 2011 for Mac and pasting them into Illustrator CS5. I select the whole cell(s) from Excel, open a blank Ai document and, without anything selected so the format is preserved, I paste the cells.
The issue comes with the resulting copy of the cells in Ai. The type which was bold in Excel is bold in Ai... but not really. Ai pastes the bolded text as not bold, but then makes a copy of that same text, puts a stroke on it, then places that over the regular text, so it looks bold. But now I have two copies of the same word, one regular and one with a stroke on it right on top of one another.
This normally wouldn't be an issue but I have to edit this info in Ai later - and there's a second problem. When I paste the bold text from Excel in Ai, the resulting word is broken up into individual text blocks for each letter. Instead of preserving the whole word as one editable text block, I now have to click on each letter to change it.
There is a catch 22 to these problems: These cells that I am copying from include bolded and regular text, and the regular text pasted into Ai without any problems (even the text blocks are preserved). So it's the bold text that is causing the problems
I have a feeling this has to do with how the individual cells are formated in Excel, but I have to copy data from many different cells made by many different people, so I am at a loss of what to do.
I have include a screen shot of what's going on with cells after I paste them in Ai. I have moved the oulined "5" up so you can see the regular "5" below it.

Recently I have been trying to build table driven products and ipart tables, but when I copy a member to create a new part number, upon exiting the iassembly author I get the following message "excel installation is required for this operation. failed to launch excel". I have a fully functional version of 2010 Excel installed which has been used so it should be recognized in the windows registry. I am running Windows 8 and Autodesk Inventor 2014.

When I etransmit, I be sure to add the excel file, but when he opens the dwg, only the outline of the excel appears in his dwg, no content.
I have Photoshop cs5. I also have the Epson R1900 printer. I love this printer but if I don't print enough the heads get clogged. Any RGB color codes or a site where I can download a color bar page that would represent all eight colors of my Epson printer.
What I want to do is print a 8.5 x 11 page every few days that will use each of the print heads wherefore keeping the print heads from clogging.

When I choose - save as, sometimes I get the JPEG option available and sometimes I don't. I'm using Photoshop cs3 extended.

I just spent a few minutes with my new version of Designer Pro X hoping that functionality might have been added and that I could finally eliminate Visio. I didn't see any new text-to-object function, but thought I'd ask here just in case.
I remember there is a way to attach text to a Xara object but couldn't find the instructions.
