View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm working on a project that needs to make a renderable shape off a curve, the curve points are based on a random set of data - so basically I'm making a fever chart. I need the curve to go exactly along with the points, so I used bezier curve. The curve looks like pic-01
Since curve doesn't show up in render, so i'm trying to make a tube shape.
1) a polygon plane, then go edit mesh - extrude. like pic-02. The extrude division is the same amount of points
2) a nurbs circle, then go surface - extrude. like pic-03 and pic-04.
As you all can see, none of these two look good. I can understand that this is because the turns are too dramatic, but I wonder if there is a way to get around the limit and generate a graph like pic-05 in 3d.
Is there a way to make a trend line with the chart tools in AI? Specifically, a polynomial trendline. I am so disappointed with the apparent limitations of the chart tools available.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a LOT of fonts, and I use CS2.
Is it possible to organize your fonts under different categories (i.e. Sans Serif, Serif, Grunge, Cursive, etc) so that you can easily select them for a particular look?
For example,
While in Photoshop I write out some text and decide that for the application, a font with Serifs would be the best choice. Rather than scan through all the little samples of text in the dialog box, I would like all of the Serif fonts to be in one group, then all the Sans-Serif fonts in another, etc.
Is it possible to arrange fonts into folders as such? I've wondered if I can add folders to the Font directory, but I am unsure of the results and do not want to mess anything up.
Can you make Photoshop look in different folders for fonts? I don't know how to do this.
Other than that one idea I had was to rename all the fonts in the directory and group them through that method, i.e. "Serif_**fontname**" "Cursive_**fontname**" etc.
Elements 11 was just installed on my lap top and is crashing while using organization part of program. No error message.

Photoshop Elements 6
Windows 7, 64 bit
All Pictures in Folders and Sub folders on hard drive.
New installation of Photoshop Elements 6
I can import all the Picture files but they do not show up in folders. How can I import and keep current organization? Or, must I reorganize?
I created a project parameter called "Appears in Browser" as a "Yes/No" type for Views Categories. I created a custom Browser Organization for Views Filtered By "Appears in Browser" equal to "Yes"
This works great except for those views which are neither checked Yes or No... for instance any NEW view! I can get new views to appear by changing the filter to be equal to "None", but then the "Yes" views do not show up.
You would think if I set the filter to "Appears in Browser" NOT Equal to "No" this would solve the problem, but it does not.
I desperately want to change the "AND" logic to "OR" logic so I can have two filters set to "Appears in Browser" equals to "Yes" OR "Appears in Browser" equal to "None".
Two Questions:
1) Where Can I add this comment to a WISHLIST for future releases?
2) Is there any other way to acheive a "Yes" or "None" filter or filter to Show All but "No"
After a PURGE UNUSED it is impossible to create new LEGEND.

The land usually has multiple soil types, a max of 4 types A, B, C, D
I also need to track the impervious, grass and tree areas going to an unknown number of outfalls
The impervious area can be broken down into structures, roadway, parking lots, sidewalks and other
Also you need to have this information for your existing conditions and your impervious conditions.
Usually I just delineate everything and hatch them with a layer like C-IMPV-A for proposed impervious soil type A
I have also tried creating parcels to represent the areas delineated, but when you get a couple hundred parcels it gets confusing.

View 2 Replies View RelatedOver the years, I've used a combination of Xara and MS Visio for business graphics -- Visio primarily for "boxes and arrows" work given the ease of typing text into any object.
I just spent a few minutes with my new version of Designer Pro X hoping that functionality might have been added and that I could finally eliminate Visio. I didn't see any new text-to-object function, but thought I'd ask here just in case.
I remember there is a way to attach text to a Xara object but couldn't find the instructions.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI use minus front all the time... well, I'm trying to make a pie chart with just the outside (see example). The logical way to do this to me is the make the pie chart, put an ellipse over everything and "minus front" it using the pathfinder tool. Well, I did this, and even though "minus front" is an available option--I can even click it--nothing happens when I click it. Even when I isolate each wedge of the pie chart, I cannot get any part of it to clip using "minus front."

we have a website concept in Illustrator CS3, with named swatches for all colors. I'm wondering if there is an easy or 'semi-automated' way to generate a chart of the swatches we are using, showing there hex values?
I know I could draw out a bunch of boxes, fill them with the swatch colors, and manually look up and type in the hex values for each. But this would take a LONG time, as there are a number of color variations.
I have some trouble with copy/paste charts from Excel 2010 into Illustrator CS5. I can move things around, but I can not change the colours in Illustrator. The chart is shown as a picture graphic, not a vector in Illustrator. Also when I save the Excel chart in a PDF and try to open it in Illustrator CS5 it is still a picture, not a vector graphic. View 8 Replies View RelatedI've been learning After Effects for several months and I have to say its a blast. I'm already in projects where they require special effects, and from months of just teaching myself.I'm almost finally able to achieve any effect I want, for example: a bomb made to implode the earth's core with a black hole (a still picture from an upcoming super hero comedy series called "Zack").
Anyways, I'm now learning more advanced color balance, I always knew the basics and I just go with what looks good (which is how it usually works), but I never quite understood. Like curves.I watch tutorials and see people use a mix of colors to get the color they want. Honestly I don't know my colors in that way, is there a chart guide for color correction?
