Sep 25, 2006I have about 100 pages (separate PSD files) that I will be merging into 1 PDF file.
How can I do page numbering instead of going manually into each page and type the page#.
I’m using only Photoshop.

I often produce documents with a considerable number of pages which I am then asked to change after the first draft. I currently add page numbers manually in order to control the style etc, but there must be a better way.

Mar 27, 2008I use a template for all my drawings that includes a page number in the lower right hand corner (usually says "Page 1 of 4" for example). I usually edit this number manually, which is fine for documents with a small amount of pages, but if I'm working on a large document (50+ pages) and need to re-order some pages it means editing the page number on every page manually.
Is there some way of having the number in a piece of artistic text dynamically update depending on what page number it's on?

Jul 16, 2013When I want to add page numbers, I only get a number on page One (or on whatever page I'm on) and nowhere else. I tried everything. When I go to Page Number Setting and change it to start at page 2 and want to add page numbers to all pages, nothing happens if I stand on page 1, or I get a number on whatever page I'm on. But only there. Am I supposed to do all pages one by one?
I remember using this function before, not sure which version/update but it worked. Not sure why it's not working anymore.

Jun 24, 2012Did Adobe really miss out on an absolutely fundamental requirement in the book module?  I finished my book, went to add page numbers to do the location index, but can't find anything that would automate it. Do I really have to fat finger page numbers?  If so you've got to be kidding.  Books require page numbering.  How could they be so ridiculous as to miss this important function? I'll see if I can take the time to rebuild the book in Blurb's bookify.

Apr 8, 2014I am trying to print a double sided document and the printer has me print all the odd/right pages then flip paper and print the even/left pages.

The first page of the index in my InDesign file (page "a") begins on a left facing page in the document - but prints as a right facing page (starts a new piece of paper). This leaves a blank left-facing page before Page A - and the rest of the index prints with odd pages on right and even pages on left.

How do I eliminate this blank page and have "Page a" begin on a left facing page and the rest of the document print as odd-facing pages on left and even-facing pages on right?

I know there is a work around by overriding master page items and numbering settings - but I hope there is a way through InDesign to fix this.

Apr 23, 2014I'm making a research report on landscape design. The final document would have perhaps pages like 80-90 or so. Earlier I used to make reports and multipage documents on MS Word. While making the contents page, I would have to look at each and every chapter's name, subheading and then add the page number manually. Is there any automatic system in InDesign?

May 21, 2009After doing all the post processing of my RAW file and saving as JPEG, the dialog changes the file number to one that has been used before and asks if I want to replace it. It is usually a number a few back. I have to manually change the number to match the original. Sure slows things down and if I'm not vigilant could end up overighting a file.

Sep 13, 2007On my website below (link at bottom), I have all my photos watermarked for obvious reasons,this is done by a normal batch convert action using CS2,the gallery is actually a modified Photoshop "Simple" type of thing.
All of the information you see on the image is actually part of it except for the image number,which is put there by your browser.What I'd like to be able to do is have that image number actually as part of the image and NOT seperate,so if someone saves it they still have that number visible.
Now I can do this manually,but I'd have to increment it by 1 every time by hand,and then copy & paste it onto the resized image by hand,which will take a long,long time.
Is there any way I can get PS to do this automatically for me,so I either specify the starting number,or it actually takes the file name (minus the extension,so no JPEG etc after it)and adds this text to the watermark layer while I put the kettle on?

Now, I have automated the cut and paste process, and also recorded some effects with Actions, but when I come to saving the files I always get prompted to enter a file name no matter if I record the save as "Save" or "Save as".

Is it possible to make Photoshop saving each file automatically with an automatically assigned number? Example: Photo0003.tif, and the next file Photo0004.tif, and so forth. Just so I won't need to enter a file name manually each time?

Saving by Batch processing is not a solution since every file I open have to be divided into like 12 new separate files and saved with different names.I use both CS2, CS5 and could sit with another machine with CS6 if thats whats needed for the job.

Dec 31, 2012I'm trying to batch save a series of PNG animation files using the File => Scripts => Export Layers to Files action in Photoshop CS5. Each layer has a transparency and a shadow that have been converted from layer effects and "baked" into the image. I tried the batch save but it turned all of the transparencies solid with white backgrounds. Also the image size was not cropped to the dimensions of the object on each layer.

Lastly, is there a way to edit the numbering for each file? When the images were exported it created a lengthy set of numbers after each file name when all I need is a 00 padding.

Is there a way to remove the *Model* page setup entry from the list of Page Setups in the Page Setup Manager? This is the first time I am seeing *Model* in the list, and I suspect that it the reason I am not able to generate a PDF for this particular drawing. When I try, I get the following error:

I have this idea that removing *Model* from the list will do it. In addition to causing PDF creation failure, I believe it is also responsible for forcing the Model to always be in the Publish list, even though I have unchecked the "Include model when adding sheets" option. I can remove it from that list manually, but it comes back every time.

Jan 28, 2012Several times a week I need to take a PDF (single-page doc), then convertto a page-sized PNG with quality good enough to read the text (and atransparent border), and then convert to a SWF. I have a PNG-to-SWFutility, but when I used it on the PNG saved after I opened my PDF andexported from GIMP, the end result was not good enough. A co-worker saidGIMP couldn't make a PNG (w/transparency) with enough quality. He said we'dhave to use some other software. Part of the issue was not being able toresize without losing quality before the PNG export. True or false?

Mar 14, 2014After moving a page in my document the master page elements no longer display on screen or in print. If I move the page to a different location in the document the master displays but if it is in the specific position that it needs to be it will not display. The document has multiple Masters and others do work on the page but the one that I need will not. I've tried deleting the page and adding a new one and that does not fix the problem. I've checked and "Hide Master Items" is not checked. The page in question is in position 48 with F-Master applied. If I move it to position 49 it works, 50, it works, 51, or any other it works. If I apply a different master to the page, it works. If I delete the page, add a new page and apply F-Master it still does not work. The only page that this problem is happening on is page 48.
