Photoshop :: Overlapping Photos?

View 1 RepliesI have a long and complicated road trip timelapse photo set I'm converting to an animation. That i've managed to sort out. However I also have some panoramas that i took here and there. I'm trying to take these panoramas (about 11 of them) into their component images, but with an overlap so that they will be in the animation appearing as a pan.
So I have about a dozen of these fairly wide images (2096 x 544 for one of them), and each of these i want to split into about ten images with a reasonable "overlap".
Given the amount of potential images, and my desire to have a smooth pan, making composite images manually wouldn't really work.
I've been using ifranview to bulk crop and resize images but i couldn't work out a way to do this so I switched to GIMP, which I'm not great with.
I've grabbed the guidelines every x pixels script and guillotine into layers plugin, hoping I could guillotine across multiple guideline "units" but all it's given me is dozens of vertical slices of the image.
I could merge and duplicate them but that would take ages.
At the moment I'm thinking my best option is to put the guidelines on and use selections to snap to guidelines and paste as seperate layers, then save all the layers as seperate files. However that still seems very slow and clunky and i'm wondering if there's a better way.
My image is overlapping artboard borders,is there any easy way to cut/trim all overlapping objects??

View 19 Replies View RelatedI'm using Photoshop CS5 with a Wacom Intuos 3 and have not had any problems with my brushes before.
Today, however, I started to paint, and noticed that my brushes were acting up. I paint a brushstroke and everything is fine - but when I paint another one over it, it makes the first stroke appear darker, whereas I would want the second stroke to cover the first one.
My brush mode is set to Normal and the opacity is 100%.
I've opened previous files as well to see if it is just about the current file's settings somehow, but the problem still persists. And I don't recall having done anything to change the brushes' behavior before.
I have Photoshop cs5 for the mac and I want to display 2 images of my project. I did this buy going to window>arrange>New Window For "project name" I want to be able to see one zoomed out and just have it displaying in the top corner. I position this new window on the top of my screen, but when I click on my "main" window, the new one just goes behind it and disappears.
My question is can I have my "main working window" tabbed in Photoshop, while I have the smaller zoomed out duplicate window floating on top of it?
I would like for the smaller window to always be on top of my "main" working window of my project even while I have the "main" window selected. Is this possible on the mac version? To solve this, I can make both of them floating windows and position them so that they do not overlap, but this takes up a lot of room on the screen.
Got some question about saving overlapping slices.
[URL]....
All of the slices are 200px square and I want to save them as 200px. But they are overlapping and when saving for web, photoshop will divide them removing laps and changing squares to 180x200 or someting like that. I can select every slice and bring it on front, and save each other, but of course I would like to use some script or an action to do it.
Or maybe there is a script to save selections, so I could make 200px selections and save them all at once, probably with some action...
I don't even know if this is possible, but I have a logo that has two separate images in it, overlapping. I would like to separate the two images whole.

How to select a locked layer when you have too many layers overlapping?
I know I can select all the layers, lock them and unlock them. But I can't lock/unlock all layers when some layers are hidden. I'll have to dig in to unhide those layers. But then I don't want to unhide all layers, because it will make changes to my design that I wouldn't know.
Is there a smart way to find/select the lock layer?

I created a design in Corel X6. My design was then sent to a vinyl cutter and heat pressed on to t-shirts. My problem is this: where the vinyl overlaps I get an impression mark on the vinyl at the top. How can I delete the portion of the design in Corel that will beoverlapping to eliminate the impression marks?
I somehow caused my sound track to overlap. I can't seem to remove it. Down at the bottom of the picture looks like a white X on the bottom music track.
I hesitate to mess with it much because I had two video tracks and spend some time getting them synced.
is it possible to have overlapping slices? For example, I typically start a web design in illustrator, then like export pieces to use in in my build. But, I tend to have a lot of overlaping pieces that need to be exported (full static background image for the webpage and banner overlap for example). I find myself, hiding pieces, drawing out a slice, export it, then go back, delete that slice, create another slice . . . as you can see, it gets pretty tedious. Everytime I try to overlap a slices, they just create new slices and I end up with a bunch of rectangle slices all over the artboard.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm plotting a drawing in which I have land parcels provided in the form of a connected ArcGIS shp file. The parcels are closed polygon features. I'd like to plot the parcels as phantom linetype. The problem is where neighboring parcels have common boundaries, Autocad Map does not filter out the overlapping boundary segments for the purpose of plotting.
As a result, the linetype becomes a mixture of phantom and solid lines and everything in between. I've tryed using plotstyles as well as styling the polygons. I don't think plot styles work with map features. The styling works when the lines do not overlap. Exploding the polygons and removing duplicate segments is not a realistic solution when working with data that is shared by true GIS programs like ArcGIS. I've seen some old postings that indicate this has been a problem for years.

I'm trying to hatch multiple objects in one go, most of which overlap with eachother in places. When I do this, the overlapping areas don't get hatched. I've tried selecting different options for island detection, but this doesn't seem to work.
View 6 Replies View RelatedToday i had to use hatch a lot, the mission was to hatch extended and and walls that not with different hatch types.
the first thing that came up is to use wipeuot under the hatch, but its lots of work and time waste (wipeout objects never been plot-friendly).
what do you do when you have to hatch overlapping objects.
During the process of drafting many lines overlap (e.g. construction lines, objects merging, etc)
Because the overlapping lines have precisely the same properties, I don't feel the need to remove them.
The issue begins when I go to plot. The overlapping lines do appear darker than lines without overlapping. This occurs a great deal in my work!
Is there a function that will merge/flatten these lines so that no more overlapping lines exist?
