I am trying to seamlessly merge two pages of a scanned book into one consistent image. The image sides are slightly crooked and there is a gap between them. I can't seem to align the two sides and merge the two together.
Also when I align one side the other is will not line up. Here is the image:

Does anyone have any tips for removing the spine of a book from a scanned image? Any useful techniques or tricks?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI was sent a detailed map in dwg format that shows a river in the country. The model has a layer called sheets that has 17 rectangles in many orientations which overlap and cover the data i wish to print. There is a layout tab called "Sheet 2 to 17" which show page 17 with a tempalte when the pointer is over the tab similar to Windows 7 Aero, but if you open the layout the page space is blank. I'm not familiar with the use of a layer to break the drawing into multpile overlapping sheets and my end goal is to print the model as the 17 defined sheets on 11 x 17 paper.

The add was ment to be filmed with cameras, actors and all that good stuff, but some 3 days into the pre production phase the "boss" changed his mind and decided he want's a CG based movie, aka something with computer graphics/animated and asked me if I can do it to?
Well, I said yes, regardless of the previous project recall, I see it as an importunity that might get me some future projects and ofc experience. Anyway, I did some research and decided to make a Photoshop animation. Was my first time using Photoshop more or less, but I managed to make it look decent in about 3 days time.
However, I am missing an important effect that I was requested to implement. Which is:
A catalog/book that is flipping trough pages trough out all the add and the book/catalog needs to have specific pictures as the pages.
The background should be transparent because I would shrink the book/catalog to a smaller size to fit it top middle of the screen, and a, for example, green square background on my main composition background, which is pink, would look very bad. If both The book/catalog and main composition backgrounds would be solid white it would work.
I know there are ways to do it in 3d max, After Effects etc.
I have a scan of a drawing that I need to get into photoshop but the scan goes onto page 2 of a pdf file. How can I edit the two scanned pages to end up with the drawing on one page in psd file?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to get myself a little better with digital art, but still not too comfortable with the idea of doing the initial drawing without pen and paper. The only downside is that I can't really get those crisp colors with just pencil colors.
how do I go about setting things up to where I can color in a scanned, non-colored inked page, but without worrying about overlapping my inks and making it look messy in general. I imagine it would have something to do with copying and pasting new layers, but I just can't get a handle on what I'm supposed to do. I also know about messing with opacity to let outlines show through, but there's still the issue of color dulling the black when it overlaps.
when you have overlapping catalogs there is a different problem. Unfortunately, she doesn't tell how to deal with that. When I merged my catalogs with LR4 (they were created in LR3), I got the new catalog with new folders but no photos available. I am trying to consolidate several overlapping catalogs (don't ask how that happened.) onto a new external hard drive where most of my folders now reside. I moved the foldes to the new drive with LR3, not by dragging the folders themselves. I also want to transfer some photos from a pocket drive usedn ona trip to the new 2TB external drive.

I'm exporting a Book to PDF in spreads:

[Document B]
Document A ends with an even (left) page. Document B starts with an odd (right) page. I want those two pages to merge into a spread when I export to PDF, which simply doesn't happen. I'm left with two single pages instead. I have tried every option under Book Page Numbering Options. All my pages and spreads are allowed to shuffle. I'm working in InDesign CS6. I've wasted two whole days trying to figure out if this is even doable.
I checked out the macro for the consecutive numbers by using the print merge option. I found out that using the print merge and merging it to a new document does exactly what I needed to do to be as efficient as possible, except if i need to number 120 labels, it opens up 120 pages on the document. How to merge the pages to have 1 page with all 120 labels. I know there is a way to put as many labels as possible on a page when using a regular printer, but I'm printing on viynil and theres a cut contour I need
View 8 Replies View RelatedI am working on creating a book layout for print. I opened the .doc file through my Mac text editor and placed in InDesign CC as a text flow. I am working on adding design elements now (after I adjusted the page layout of the text on all the pages) and blank pages keep inserting themselves in weird places (for instance page 7 will suddenly turn into a blank page and my text will move itself down while design elements such as chapter headings will stay in the place where I put them, but then be completely out of place according to where the text is now). I have tried to adjust it every way I can think of--- by moving all of the text up onto the new blank page and re-aligning the chapter headings, by moving the blank pages to the end of the book and deleting them, and of course, by just simply deleting them. (Deleting them just causes the layout to become mis-aligned even worse, and just re-adds the blank page I attempted to delete.)

I am creating an object that has four text boxes in an object that is about 2" x 4". When I do the merge, I end up with multiple pages, all 2" x 4". How can I now move those pages spaced about a larger page, say 11" x 17" so I can have positioned and print multiple 2" x 4" objects on the larger sheet?

I often want to export the book to PDF to share online but when I export it separates the cover from the book which spoils the whole effect.
Is there a way to export both book and cover as one single PDF?
I'm trying to create a header for a website, 500x100, that has a photo image, 300x100, in the center that has both right and left edges feathered. On the left edge it would fade to white, on the right edge it would fade to blue. Seems like I've seen similar things on other sites.
First I thought I'd just place a blue rectangle on the right half of the piece and place the image over it in the center with both edges feathered. But if I feather one edge (with the gradient tool), trying to feather the other edge undoes the first edge's feathering. I still don't really get working with layers.
Then I thought I'd just feather the left edge of the image and place a blue rectangle with a feathered left edge over the right edge of the image. But when I draw a rectangle, the gradient tool doesn't work and I can't feather the edge. If I select the tool and click in the rectangle I get a message that the content of the layer isn't directly editable and I can't figure out how to make it editable.
At this point, I'm not even sure what method I should be using to accomplish this task. Should I be feathering one edge and blurring the other? I think I did get it done once before by starting with an image that had lots of extra height, feathering all 4 edges and cropping off the top and bottom feathered parts but this image doesn't have that much extra to work with.
I'm sure these are stupid questions but the tutorials, tips and how-to's I've looked at always seem talk about how to feather one or all edges, not two. It doesn't help that I'm still not really familiar with all the tools and terminology.
I would certainly appreciate at least a pointer to what methods I should be using. I feel like I'm trying to use a chisel as a screwdriver.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to create an action that takes one image and repeats it on all four sides to make a square (we are picture framers and am trying to create image files of our frames from one picture of a piece of frame). I have managed to create the action to do this, but some of the frames are different widths and if I set the action to go on a smaller frame it doesnt push the image up to the edge of the canvas. It leaves a white space between the edge of the image and the edge of the canvas.
I tried to set the point of origin with co-ordinates in the transform mode when creating the action, to make sure that every image went where I wanted it to, but this hasnt worked.
way that I can paste an image into a new canvas and pin point where I want that image to go?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm currently an Art Major in school, and I've been studying examples from the Art Nouveau era. I've been sketching out symmetrical designs, scanning them and mirroring them on Photoshop.
All has gone well so far, however, I'm now trying to figure out how to clean it up and make it look "perfect". In terms of being perfect, I want it to look completely clean. I darkened the lines as much as I could and erased as much as I could, however, I've tried different things such as blurring, sharpening, and adjusting levels, but the lines still seem too jagged from the sketching. I'm wanting to smooth them out and make them look nice.

You see how crisp it is? No jagged edges, completely smooth and clean. This is what I want.
