I have a problem printing a merge booklet 8 pages. I am printing to a booklet printer. The printer folds and staples the booklet. When I merges the print I cannot “group” the pages to 8. The printer collates all the pages and make one booklet. How do I group the booklet one by one to several booklets of 8 pages. Windows 7 - 64 bit.
I checked out the macro for the consecutive numbers by using the print merge option. I found out that using the print merge and merging it to a new document does exactly what I needed to do to be as efficient as possible, except if i need to number 120 labels, it opens up 120 pages on the document. How to merge the pages to have 1 page with all 120 labels. I know there is a way to put as many labels as possible on a page when using a regular printer, but I'm printing on viynil and theres a cut contour I need
Why cant I save a cdr job with all the merge fields setup so that next time I open the file I can go straight to 'merge to new document'.
So Ive set up a 10 to view raffle tickets job. Inserted 20 numerical merge fields, positioned, resized, applied font size color alignment etc etc etc.. Takes ages..... So then merge to a new document, works nice and I can save it fine.
There are a hundred reasons why i may have to close the 'master' merge file before the job has been successfully printed. It may be a repeat print job.
Any which way I really dont get why the live merge data fields are lost on closing the file.
I am creating an object that has four text boxes in an object that is about 2" x 4". When I do the merge, I end up with multiple pages, all 2" x 4". How can I now move those pages spaced about a larger page, say 11" x 17" so I can have positioned and print multiple 2" x 4" objects on the larger sheet?
I'm quite new to illustrator and I am trying to make a company catalogue.
On screen the pictures look ok and they are high res. When I print A3 the pictures print perfectly but when I print in an A4 booklet they are really blurrey.
Dialog box:"The active document uses multiple page sizes Print Booklet works only with documents that use a consistent page size."OK, but the page sizes are all the same.
I have variable text that I need to print using the Print Merge in CDX6. One field of text requires that the "kerning" be set at +30. No problem in my template. However, after I have create the print merge to a new file, the kerning is gone.
What I am missing that will force the text "kerning" or spacing as in the original?
A1 field name is FIRST NAME B1 is LAST NAME C1 is ADDRESS D1 is CITY E1 is STATE
F1 is ZIP H1 is name1 I1 is name 2 Fields H1 & I1 could not be inserted.
I entered the above field labels and loaded them with the saved Excel file saved as a CSV (Comma Delimited)
When the First names and last names appear in a document there is too big of a space between the first and last names. The same problem happens when I put city, state, and zip on the same line
in the document.
I did a concatenate combining A1 &B1 to eliminate the space problem and a concatenate to combine D!, E1, and f1 Fields on one line. I put the results of the concatenates in seperate columns H1 & I1 but these 2 column fields could not be inserted for the print merge.
How i can solve the space problem between first and last names and the problem to put city, state and zip on the same line with proper space and punctuation.
I am using Corel Draw X3 to create name tags that have room numbers printed on them so people know where they need to go. I am importing an Excel spreadsheet for the data. When it does the print merge it is adding a decimal at the end of the room number. For example, instead of showing room 215, it outputs 215.0 instead. How can I keep this from happening? I've tried everything I can think of in Corel and Excel both.
The problem is that I have not Excel on my PC. Only Open office. I create a csv file but Open Office asks me every time what the Field and Text delimiter have to be - for the Field "," ";" ":" "tab" or "space" and for the Text " or '. After that it asks me to check or not few check boxes. See the picture below.
I tryed few combinations but the same result - Failed to save print merge data!
I dont know what to chek but the biggest problem is that I tryed to save a txt tab delimited on other computer with excel and when I try to print merge after loading the txt file Corel says Failed to save print merge data.
I saw that we can Print merge directly from xls files but I cant find that option in ODCB Data Source. Weird! because I have to do 1100 badjes with different merge fields like country, name, code etc... and if I start to make them by hand it will be forever!
First, I know how to use the base-print merge functions. Right now I have a job to complete with 1000 numbered 3part NCR forms.
I have never attempted this method (print merge), mainly due to my prior equipment limitations; however I am looking at realistically being able to print 100k+ page jobs without going to press/numbering machine (if only I could land about 10x 100k+ page jobs a month--press or no press--). Anyways, when I create this print merged file it takes easily 15 minutes to save (which might be understandable due to the number of pages to generate). BUT when I go to print, Draw closes. No error. No nothing.
When I use the print function in the print merge options, things lag extraordinarily. Also, I have to click on the various options many times for them to be registered. This option is like the prior--causing extremely unstable environments.
Auto numbering is a potential blessing, but this just isn't working for me. Also, is this a known issue? An upgrade to X6 might be prudent anyways; however, X4 is working fine for everything else.
(Running 3 different computers with Windows XP home & pro 32bit, with fairly good computers.)
I created a list if voucher numbering from 1001 to 1200, but when I perform the Print Merge, the list shown are with one decimal point i.e. 1001.0, 1002.0, etc....
I am putting together a form for a soccer team, where I have a number of players with their info put into a nice table for scouting college coaches to have at their fingertips. It would be nice to automate this, but I don't see how to merge say 8 players' info onto one page. Any thoughts?
I have just ugraded 4 computers to X5 (one w7, 3 with XP) and are having a lot of problems with the application crashing or hanging. Applies to all computers. We do a lot of print merges, more than 100 a day. Happens randomly, but mainly after several jobs have been printed (jobs, 5-10, still open in X5 in case som modifications are needed).
since i upgraded to X6 i cannot do imposition anymore, using print merge.
Before i set a page with lets say A5 with the layout, and then in the print merge, i would put 4up (four A5), and it went well, using (collate and cut as well).
Now look at my attached file, the first page stays different size.
I need to prepare the artwork for 1000 member cards with the membership number present as a barcode. How can I generate the barcode for each individual card without doing it one by one?
While using print merge option Corel Draw X5 give me an error when I try to import an existing csv or txt file on the print merge dialog box. It says "Impossible to open the file or not correct file format". The files are made with open office or microsoft works, and in the past I've already used and worked good. Now I find this error...
I am using CorelDraw to create price labels for my store. When I merge in the price field for an item I want it to show on the label with the cents in superscript as opposed to using a decimal and full sized cents text. Is this possible in any version of CorelDraw using the print merge feature?
Keep in mind that I also have the price field in an envelope so that the price takes up the full size allotted on the label whether the price is $1.99 or $999.99.
I am 2 days into using X6 instead of X4 attached to my trotec engraver, using XP.All goes well with the print to the trotec job control, with it picking up the red vector cut line.
But if I print multiple pages, or use print merge (which is essentially the same thing), the cut line only prints as red on the first page. From then on the print line is some grey colour and consequently the laser does not pick it up.
Have tried changing colour conversion to the Trotec, but this doesn't have any effect.
I have a document, where I need to have 4 different print merge fields from 4 different data sources (.txt).I can only make it work with 1 print merge field.
Whenever I perform a PrintMerge the print dialog and its options are reset everytime I leave the print dialog.
Usually you hit print set parameters and hit apply, you now can cancel the dialog and hit print again, your previous settings should still be there. Same goes if you actually print and want to repeat the print process, as long as you dont close the document. This works for normal printing but fails with print merge.
Every time I close the dialog (not the document) all the settings are back to default. This did not happen in X5 and is very annoying since it resets to default even if you actually hit print, forcing you to set the parameters every time.
Am working as a technical editor for a medical university, I got an earlier job file of their booklet, so I was wondering is there any way to get to know which fonts are used in the whole booklet, as I am assigned to re-arrange the whole booklet but keeping the current fonts & spacings. Finding fonts manually seems impossible as it got more then 160 pages
I am having an issue with X6's print merge not recognizing a properly formatted numeric filed from my Excel spreadsheet. My first issue was that Corel was adding a decimal point after my numbers. This was when they were still formatted as text fields. (which i still don't understand why, since they were just TEXT fileds)
I know that the fields need to be "numeric" fields.
FYI i have ALREADY COMPLETED MY TASK by using an "added" numeric filed that i added IN CorelDraw and then used the "Numeric Field Options" at the bottom of the page to get my number sequence.
However, that is not my question.... my question is: How do i get corel to RECOGNIZE a numeric field AS a numeric field in the first place.
I need to create a booklet with a staggered fold, so that there are tabs. It is basically a booklet where the pages are offset 1/4" - 1/2" before folding/stapling. How to set this up in DRAW, or is there a template somewhere I can use?
