Photoshop :: Olympus Raw Files

Jul 6, 2009

I've purchased a new Olympus E 620 camera and have the Ps /Cs3 design suite, now 18months old . I am unable to import camera raw images via bridge or directly into Ps 3 using any of the camera Raw 5.4 or DNG plug-ins. Can I purchase an upgrade for Cs3 to Cs4 for Ps only that will work within Cs3. I am becoming very tired of paying big dollars for very recent programmes that will not work with the latest technology.

Photoshop :: Olympus E-3 And PS CS2 .ORF Raw Images

Sep 2, 2008

I've recently purchased an Olympus E-3 (previously owned E-330). I use CS2 and Windows XP Media. I am new to shooting RAW images and just got back from a trip where I shot RAW (.ORF) images.

I updated my DNG converter and Camera Raw to 3.7 (as that is the highest level supported by CS2). The list of supported cameras include the E-3. But I still get the error message that it can't complete your request because it is not the right kind of document.

I try to use the DNG Converter and get a message there was an error parsing the image.

What am I not understanding? Since the E-3 should be supported in Camera Raw, why am I getting this error message? I really enjoy the flexibility of photoshop Camera Raw and wish to continue.

What is the best and easiest way to open these files in Photoshop? I am stuck with a ton of .ORF images that I cannot open. Please help!

Photoshop :: Olympus E-PL1 Camera - RAW File Size

Apr 11, 2012

I have started to use my new Olympus E-PL1 camera with RAW files.

I was not so pleased with the results in PSE ACR and Lightroom so I have decided to try THE SAME RAW file in Capture One Express and Raw Therapy.

I was shocked to discover that the area covered with Capture One Express and Raw Therapy is larger than ACR and Lightroom - to my astonishment it is like having a wider lens - in all four corners of the image there more details and objects that cannot be seen in ACR! - notice a red car on the right side and a blue boat on the left side - it looks like either from a wider lens or like another file!

I have checked both in Photoshop ACR and Lightroom and the Lens Correction option is turned OFF.

Lightroom :: Automatic Removal Of Color Fringing Of Panasonic Lenses On Olympus Body

Mar 13, 2013

Last week I sold my Panasonic GH2 and bought an Olympus OM-D E-M5.  My 14-45 Panasonic lens shows some nasty purple color fringing with the OM-D (not your ordinary green-purple chromatic aberration, but purple fringing on both sides of highly exposed items, such as steel wheel covers). This I never(!!)  saw with the GH2. Fortunately I can correct this in Lightroom.  I go (in Develop module) to lens corrections - color - remove edge (purple). This works really well, and I know I can synchronize all affected images. But I would like to have this done automatically, just as Lightroom automatically removes all color faults when using  micro four-thirds Panasonic lenses with a micro four-thirds Panasonic body. This is done through special data supplied by Panasonic which are read and implemented by Lightroom (I believe).

Unfortunately this doesn't work when using a Panasonic lens on an Olympus body, which is my reason for this question. I can make my own profile using Adobe Profile Creator to automatically remove chromatic aberration. Reading the tutorial I get the impressions these profiles only remove normal chrom. aberration, not the special purple color fringing I am talking about. So: is there any way to automate this fringing, or do I have to work on all affected images in Lightroom using the technique I described?

Photoshop :: Any Way To Batch Process Color Corrected RAW Files To TIFF Files

Nov 11, 2013

I got over 160 color corrected RAW files from my photographer when I thought I was getting TIf or PSD files. I need to put them into an in design doc to send out for printing. Is there a way to convert all of these in one fell swoop without messing up the work that has already been done?

I didn't allow in my timing to save each one individually since i didn't know I was going to need to do this. I am really unfamiliar with batch processing, so how to best go about this, or if I even can. I am working in Photoshop CS6. version 13.06 x 64.

Photoshop Elements :: Copy New Files Only (Ignore Already Imported Files) Not Working

I am using Photoshop Elements 10 Version 10 (20110831.m.17215) and everytime I plug in a memory card to upload images it wants to upload every image on the card, even though it has previously uploaded images from that card, even though I have the "Copy New Files Only (Ignore Already Imported Files)" box ticked in the preferences Camera or Card Reader section. This gets very frustrating and time consuming when I have to go through the images every single time to uncheck the images that have already been uploaded.

Photoshop :: Convert Full Resolution Files To Web Based Files

Jun 6, 2012

I am working on a museum project. I have been asked to convert full resolution files to web based files using "Save for Web and Devices". The problem is in the file naming. Museums typically use accession #s for each work. Example   1999.63.102  So the digital file would be named 1999.63.102.jpg (or tif).

When I attempt to save the file using "Save for Web and Devices" the resulting name is converted to 1999.jpg  I believe the . (periods) to be the culprit. There are hundreds to do so renaming is not an option. This does not occur when I use "Save as".

Photoshop Elements :: 12 Hides Panasonic RAW Files - Unhide The Files?

Jan 2, 2014

PSE 12 has a new feature under Preferences/Camera or Card Reader called "Alutomatically Stack RAW and JPEG." Checking this will stack a RAW & JPEG file combination, i.e., when shooting with the camera's RAW + JPEG setting checked. In my case PSE 12 appears to stack my Panasonic RAW files and each JPEG thumbnail shows the right facing arrow to expand the stack. When I click the arrow the arrow disappears but the stack does not expand to reveal the RAW file. The RAW file still exists on the hard drive, but I can't find any way to reveal it in PSE (I've not tried to re-import the RAW files because there are a lot of files in a lot of folders.) This is rather critical and needs to be fixed.

I'm not embedding the original raw files in the DNG. NEF files I convert from my Nikon D2x are around 9.5MB. I'm running Mac OS 10.5.8,  DNG v 6.6 and also use PS CS5.5 and Lightroom 3.0.

I'd like to know if the new CS6 Preference which allows users to "Disable Compression of PSD and PSB files" applies to 8 bit files.

The reason I am asking is that the DisallowFlateCompressedPSD registry change for CS5, which disables compression of PSD and PSB files does not work for 8 bit files (it only works for 16 bit and 32 bit files)I work on large 8 bit files (4-8GB) and would like to know if CS6 would allow me to disable compression on those files.
