I'm trying to create some realistic glass tube-like objects, but I can't seem to get it right. but the main problem i've run into is that if the background is clouds,or something that doesn't have a lot of definition and color variation, it really looks nothing like glass.

"Ok lets start by creating a New Document (Ctrl/Cmd+n). The dimensions will be 300x200 pixels, and with a White Background." OR
"Step 1
Create a new temporary document. Make it 1 pixel by 1 pixel, and with the default white background"
If this is Step 1, then how do I create this "temporary document. Make it 1 pixel by 1 pixel" ?
i've scannd somthing, and i want it to look like its behind a glass window.. the object is pressed to the scanner so i got the behind somthing feeling.. now how do i make it look more like a glass window? a glass wall..?
View 9 Replies View Relatedhow to make a layer cut from another pic look more part of the background it's being placed on. I try to keep the pics relatively the same size then I'll usually use quick selection tool and get the item outlined how I want, then adjust the "refine edge" settings and drag onto the new background. I can get it to look pretty good messing with the Enhance features including defringe layer and maybe mess with the erase tool a little to feather a little more, but it still seems to look a bit as though it's sitting on top..
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am looking to make realistic layer styles like the images attached. I need help as all my tries have not gone to well. I have tried making bump maps and textures but nothing seemd to work. I know I have seen the styles before so it can be done. Can someone help me with this or create them and I will pay for the work.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have an iLogic rule that automatically adds center lines to cylindrical elements and holes. It runs on save. Is there a way to
A) Make that rule loop through each sheet in the drawing file? Right now it loops through each view on the active sheet and I'm not sure how to get the total sheet count to make another loop for that.
B) Is there a way I can conditionally check if the view is a flat pattern or not? I'd like to use an IF statement to exclude applying the center marks to the flat.
I have a picture of a movie ticket box office and I want to put two people in the window and make it look like they are standing behind the glass...
how to create that effect?
I've been taking and prepping photos of a client's parts. For the most part things have been going fine. I use pen tool for thought - but round or curved - objects and for other objects I have a series of auto actions that clean them up quite nicely and quickly. For example see before and after below of an object I did. Photos were taken with Nikon D70:
I've now run into a really tough one and it's foam. I told my wife to take photos of them with black background so it's more contrasty. But I just can't seem to figure out how to get rid of the black so the result looks "foamy." Evidently, the pen tool just won't work because lines there are two straight. Below is example of photo and I now have about 6 photos similar with more to come. The photo below is reduced version to keep the file size here small:
I'm working on a necrotic zombie-like picture of myself and was trying to wrap skin around my mouth, but it looks fake. Can anyone give me a tip on how to make this look real?
I also noticed my right eye is much darker do to the lighting of the original picture, and I can't seem to get that lightened to match the left one.
In the Halloween spirit, I decided to photoshop a Gears of War themed jackolantern. However, obviously at this point it doesn't look very realistic.
Can anyone help me define the edges of the carvings? Also, anyone know how I can make the lighting inside the pumpkin look more realistic (maybe add a candle inside of it)?
In the attached image, you'll see that the car windshield has a frosted effect from the background of this image before I made the selection. How can I make it clear instead of gray?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm working on a short film for a friend. In the clips they have a man on a train by the window. As the train itself was stationary, they put a greenscreen by the window. I've added every effect to make it look like there is an outside and its speeding by, but it looks like there's nothing inbetween the man and the outside.
The outside is actual filmed B-roll of trees going by and is not a keyframed picture zooming by.
How do i make a "glass window" in adobie Elements... something I can bring into my project and but inbetween the man and the outside.
I do not have adobie After Effects. The only adobie Program i have is Elements 11.
I've looked online and can't find any pictures that work, and any search comes up with making a glass ball that magnifies the images inside of it.

I want to create a clock with a frosted glass look and maybe some icicles or ice as well. It is for a project i am doing. The theme is "magic of a moment" and my idea is that a frozen clock would represent in a moment, time seems to slow down/freeze.
Is illustrator the best to do this or should i use photoshop?
I was hoping I could find a plug in for it. Any plug ins out there for that?

View 5 Replies View RelatedWas wondering if there are some ways in converting a highly realistic rendering of an object generated in a 3D program into a more illustrative, simplified, alittle less realistic version in Photoshop?
The object has plenty of silver reflections, HDRI environment map reflections, precise shadows and highlights, etc. I just want to make it look more generic and not as polished I guess.
Are there filters or plugins that will do this in a plug in play method or is it more prodedural and manual?
Any way to put a detailed patten into my glass window.
I have created glass with the slate material editor, used specular 100, glossiness 80 in the Blinn dropdown. Ued mental ray. Looks good, very glassy. Now I want to put a pattern on the glass, like a silouette, only that it is also translucent, part of the glass, as though it was an "etched glass" pattern on the glass. Do i make the pattern into some kind of "mask"? and lay it over existing glass?
when I use the flat brushes to paint the colours are not flat but are of different tones of the color in the shape of the brush.
View 1 Replies View Relatedshouldn't sheets marked as "exclude from count" not be counted?
I tried this in both 2013 and 2012 to see if maybe AutoDesk broke it, but it doesn't work in either one. This is easily reproducible for me, a file shouldn't be necessary. Just open up (or create) a multi sheet drawing. Go to edit sheet on one or two of them and check the "exclude form count" box. Now create a new iLogic rule and put the following line into it:
MsgBox("This is the number of sheets in the drawing: " & ThisDoc.Document.Sheets.Count, VBOkOnly, "Number of Sheets")
I can't find a way to create multi flat patters in one part from a lofted sheetmetal part. Also, didn't the developers fix the 'can't make a flat pattern from a derived part'?

I am trying to export geometry found in a flat pattern sketch overlaid onto the flat pattern.
Since I am creating the output file manually I gather the flat pattern boundaries and bend center lines for output to a file.
When I add flat pattern sketch entities to the mix they do not overlay properly. What matrix would I have to push the sketch entities through to get them to the same coordinates as the flat pattern?
