Photoshop :: Graphic Hardware Not Working With CS6 / CC?
Sep 24, 2013I tried to open and use Photoshop CS6 and CC today. I got this warning I have been able to use the 3D functions with CS5. Do I have to go buy a new graphics card for my iMAC? I am using a well equipped MAC and running a really good graphics card. This is the first time I have had any errors from any of my CS software.

Apr 27, 2013I am using Photoshop CS6 v13.1.2 and I'm experiencing an issue with the crop tool. Whenever I use the crop tool, move the frame around and then zoom in on the image, the image becomes noisy, pixelated or has other 'graphic glitches'. I changed the PS preferences to not use the GPU and then rebooted the computer. Still the same issue without the GPU.

I am interested in changing a photograph into a flat graphic image like clip art. I do not know what it is called and so I don't know how to look it up for directions. But I think it must be possible as I have seen someone do it without permission to a sample of my artwork. I assume they took a photo of the art and then converted it some way to a graphic.
I thought this might be an affect one can use on a photo, but again, I don't know what the right terms are.

1.) At 1:40 into the tutorial, he selects a diamond pattern as a Pattern Overlay effect. However, it's a pattern he created himself. How do I create a pattern like that?
2.) At 4:35, he draws a line with the pen tool having first selected a brush and then strokes the path. However, my path doesn't look like his. It's just a straight line, while his splays out a bit so he's able to create that shining star effect when he rotates a copy. I've attached a jpeg of mine.
What am I doing wrong to not get a line like his? Am I not choosing the right brush. I chose a brush with the diameter of 17 like he does in the tutorial. Does it look like I selected it from a different place?
Photoshop :: Cannot Color Image After Applying Graphic Pen Effect
Jul 2, 2012I open a .dng file which was in greyscale. Then converted it to RGB. Applied the effect Graphic Pen. Added a new layer, fill it with red, changed mode to Overylay, and when I tried merging down, or saving as a jpeg, it converts the image right back to B&W. I even tried changing my brush to red and Overlay mode, it just won't let me color the image at all. I've tried hue/saturation, and when I try to save the adjustment, it converts right back to B&W. Sep 7, 2007I've searched for a way to make a simple, one color image into a vector image. The best thing I've found is a .atn thing fromsPECtre. I've unzipped it but really don't understand photoshop well enough to use it.
I'd like to learn how to actually do it my self. I can easily make the image into a selection, all I need is to make that selection into a solid vector.
How do I do this?

VideoStudio :: Graphic Image Pixelates In X4
Jun 5, 2012I recently added another edit system and installed X4. I have been creating a slide show to music and all seems fine until addimg a graphic (Jpeg logo) to the overlay track. I then reduce the size to place it in the lower 1/3. When paused, the preview window shows the graphic as sharp. When playing I can see resolution loss. I doubled the size of the graphic but I still see the resolution drop. It doesn't matter if the graphic is at its original size or smaller when adjusting it in the overlay track. When I output as an MPEG the background video is fine, but the overalay graphic is horrendously pixelated. See attached screen cap.
I played witht he render settings moving quality fromm 70 to 100 and upping the bit rate to the max. For grins I turned off non square pixel rendering, but it made no difference in the poor graphic resolution. I tried exporting as a wmv (hd 720 30f) and the problem was gone. Unfortunately, my end user client ( a programming server) requires MPEG-2 files.

Mar 4, 2013Everytime when i import a surface in civil3d 2013. It stops working and tries to send error report.
Also programs top bar which includes "save-open-civil3d selections-etc." is white that i cant see any button. It seems like ineffective because of colour but they can be clickable.

AutoCAD 2010 :: Importing Layout From Template Not Working?
Oct 16, 2013So everytime I import a layout from my template, the scale comes out wrong. The border is way too big, viewport, and the stamp is also way to big. It's being scaled by approximately by 12.28 times.
Here's what I can share:
- both drawings are in inches in both files
- all that 'insunits' stuff is set to zero in both files
- 'measurement' and 'measureinit' is set to zero in both files
- using AutoCAD 2012
- xyz scale is all at 1.00
- the titleblock itself almost imports correctly, only some of my att text doesn't come out properly as well.
As far as i can tell it's the command 'from template' issue. Because when i cut and paste the templates layout contents, it comes out fine.Â
Lightroom :: 4 Stops Working When Importing Photos Into Library?
Mar 10, 2012I have a folder containing all my photos (15000 photos: 70% JPG, 30% NEF) in a sorted folder-structure.

I am trying to import that filestructure to Lightroom, but after some thousand fotos the import-process just stops. Lightroom is still usable, the "import-progress-bar" shows the correct value (something below 50%) but import action is frozen.

I can shutdown the program and them try to restart them import, but it does not work.

When I then try to import the fotos "year by year" then it also has the same behaviour after some time...

Seems to me quite a bug for the sake of a photo-management-tool?
Lightroom :: Importing Files Into 4.1 (Windows) Stopped Working
Oct 2, 2012I am no longer able to import any new files into Lightroom. I was in the middle of an import and all of a sudden it stopped and the program hung. I am running Win 7 64 with an i7 with 12 gigs of RAM. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Lightroom multiple times (Using both the windows installer and via Lightroom and then searched to see if there were any orpne files on my drive. ) , did a system restore to a point about a month ago, tried importing a simple jpeg file from the hard drive as well as CR2 files (Canon) and even DNG files. Also tried setting up a new catalog with no success. Plenty of hard drive space and no drive errors. There is nothing wrong with the files as I can open them in Photoshop. I can see the files on the import screen though they are not always rendered. When I choose import it just starts, says Importing files and hangs. When I finally give up, and I have waited an hour or more, and kill the process I get the message - No photos or videos were found to import. Other tidbits.  Takes a long time to be able to select files to import from the import screen. System seems to run for some time before I can select or deselect (If this were a Mac it would show a beach ball during this wait)  Each time I quit or try to change catalogues it asks for the weekly backup (my default) even though I backed it up sometimes as recently as within the past 10 minutes and those backups appear to be valid and in the directory. Every other feature, including Export seems to work I just can no longer import files.

Aug 24, 2012When I am exporting a jpg from CorelDraw X6, I keep getting random columns of white pixels to the right of the graphic image. If I switch the matte color in the export dialogue to black, I get random amounts of black pixels. In X4, when I would export a jpg, the resulting file would be cropped right to the image edge, with no extra pixels. I'm getting anywhere from 1 to as many as 8 columns of extra pixels on the right hand side, which is problematic for utilizing the resulting files for page layout.
I achieve the same results when choosing "Export for Office" and "Export for Web".
I'm running a 64-bit install on a Win 7 64-bit box.
Photoshop :: Importing 8-bit Image Into A 16-bit
Sep 8, 2012When doing composites, I usually start with a 16-bit background image opened into PS from a RAW file pre-edited in ACR. Then I bring in other objects/elements I shot at the same bit depth. However, I occasionally see an 8-bit JPEG stock photo that would be useful. What would be the limitations of importing an 8-bit file into my main 16-bit composite image, and is there a way to compensate?

Corel PHOTO-PAINT X4 :: Imported PNG Graphic Disappears When Imported Into Another PNG Graphic
May 26, 2011I create a graphic in Corel Draw X4 and export it as a .png file. It is a button with rounded corners. It will be going on a black background when put into an iphone app. So as to not have the little white corners show up from the rectangular export window, I made the button on top of a black rectangle, slightly larger than the button. I then selected the black to be transparant during the dialogs of exporting to png. When viewed in an image viewer the black is indeed transparent and does not show up. All looks fine.Â
To test what it will look like when put on top of a black background, I also make a black square and export it as a .png. I then open the black background in Corel Photopaint and then import the graphic into the background image. A siloutte of it shows up with the marque borders but the graphic itself (the colors and contents of the graphic don't). When combined with the black background it just disappears. Why doesn't it just lay on top of the other graphic?

Mar 13, 2013So I'm able to use the dashed stroke normally if I create my own lines or shapes, but I'm using an image that I have image traced, expanded, and ungrouped, and I'm able to change the weight of the stroke and the brush but not apply a dashed stroke or a different brush profile, but I'm more concerned with the stroke. I haven't forgotten the gap.. What's up? Does it just not work on image traced stuff?
