View 1 Replies View RelatedI scan cartoons I've drawn so that I can colour them in Photoshop. However, when I click within an area I wanted coloured, I get a thin white line between the colour and the black outline. No matter what I do, I cannot get rid of this except to keep on clicking the colour until the line disappears. Is there a quick and more effective way of filling colour without this hassle?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm not really an artist or good with image manipulations, but I am learning how to create games on my own (using Unity3D currently) and have to create some basic art or animations myself when I can't find it available for free online, and I do that in paint.net.
Right now I'm working on an asteroids clone to further my learning and what I want to do is when the player ship spawns in the game, I want to have a little flash so that it doesn't look as if the ship just appears out of nowhere.
I figured that the closest thing to what I want looks like a camera flash and have been looking for this online but have yet found nothing. I've searched these forums, too, in both Plugins and the tutorials for creations and distortions/modifications but have also come up empty.
There was a plugin for a lens flare effect, but is not what I need, and one plugin that creates glitter/sparks, but that one seems to only work when you have a suitable image to work with, whereas I need something that creates this kind of flash by itself.
When I try to open GIMP a window pops up that says, "GNU Image Manipulation Program has stopped working."
"A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."
My gimp isn't starting up it says GNU Image Manipulation Program has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly Windows will close the program and notify you if the solution is available.
View 1 Replies View RelatedNew to GIMP and would like to add some color to a line drawing. I have a line drawing that I scanned into the computer as a JPG. I've imported that JPG into GIMP.
the line drawing has a dozen or so areas created by the intersecting lines. I would like to fill the various areas with different colors. How can I do that?
If I pour a color paint on the picture without doing anything, the entire page changes to the color poured. Not what I want to do. I want area A to be red, area B to be blue, and area C to be yellow.
I have a cartoon line drawing. The black outlines are anti aliased so the edges of the lines have different grades of gray pixels on them. When I use the fill tool, and adjust the fill with the opacity and tolerance sliders, (I think that's what they're called in GIMP), I still can't get what I want. Only some of the gray pixels are colored in. Others are canceled out. Completely covered by the color, erasing some of the line.
Or some pixels remain uncolored. Just gray instead of a combination of the gray AND the fill color. What I'm looking for is an effect that looks like I placed a colored gel shaped like the cartoon character over the drawing. All the different shades of gray pixels should still be seen. Even the ones that are lighter than the fill color. With a gel, those pixels would appear darker, even though they were lighter than the fill color without the gel over them. The darkness of the color PLUS the added darkness of even the lightest gray pixels should make all the pixels appear darker. And the line would appear complete. Not partially erased.
Is it at all possible to get this effect?
After filling the inside of a line drawing, (cartoon "shape"), I'm left with the checkerboard pattern that indicates transparency. I'd just like to get rid of that checkerboard pattern so I can view my drawing the way it really looks! Can this be done in GIMP?
View 6 Replies View RelatedWhen I draw a character, i cannot change line weight of fill shapes. When I do so it remains unchanged, however once I export everything is fine and okay.
This image below is how it looks. Even though it is colored.
Once I export I get this

How can I use the bucket-fill option to fill an area surrounded by a dottedline?
The dotted line is a path; so if I use a line for the dots, the bucket-fillworks.
But how can I step back after filling to change the path's line into dotsagain?
I have a picture of a house with the sidewalk at the bottom. I am trying to fill the remainder of my enlarged canvas with "sidewalk". I know there has to be a way, but I can't figure it out!
I did try single row & single column marquee, but it gives me a striped pattern - not the exact sidewalk that the pic ends with.
I'm trying to plot my dwg to a PNG file using the PublishToWeb PNG.pc3 plotter but it will not use the whole image size for my output. To the right where is a white vertical line that's not used, very annoying. I'm using a custom page size but that size has the exact dimension (1280x720) as the selected window.
I have also tried the PublishToWeb JPG.pc3 plotter with the same result and I have also tried it with AutoCAD 2011 with the same result.
I'm attaching my test DWG, it's a black rectangle with a solid hatch, and the resulting PNG file. I also attach my settings from the plot dialog.
I have sofa, I want filling the backround of this sofa any image. How can I filling it?
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy image is in grayscale though it's recognised as RGB. It contains structures in white which I would like to fill with a colour. So basically, I'd like for all the white in the image to show up as e.g. red.
How do I do that? I'm guessing it must be possible to have a red layer and somehow this will then fill the white, but I'm getting confused with background and foreground filling options and I don't know which transparency options I have to choose.
How would you put other images inside of someone's eyes. Kind of like Photo Manipulations really.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have 750 gif scanned images of maps. The problem is that I need to turn a border of 75 pixels right round each image either black or white. The image has to stay the same the same size, just the first 75 pixels all around have to be either black or white.
So how do I:
A make the border black or white?
B automate it so I don't have to do them all by hand?
I want to become really good at it, but don't know where to start! Everytime i try something, i try to blend different parts together via cut and paste. I try to smooth it in to make it look like the original photo, and no matter what strategy i use (Smudge tool, pencil tool and manually put in the colors, etc.) the area turns out rough or too blurry?
View 4 Replies View RelatedBack in Photoshop CS3 (I skipped from CS3 to CS6, so no idea if you could do this in any other versions) if you CTRL clicked on a vector path between two anchor points, you could change the 'guidelines' extending from the anchor point either side of the line, and it would keep the lines at the same angle. However in CS6, when you do this it changes the angle of both of the lines. Is there a way to do it as it was done in CS3 ?
View 2 Replies View RelatedHow do you get the text to conform to the oval on the bottom of the text but remain straight across the top - see attached image for example of what I'm going on about.
I had a go with the warp text but couldn't get it. Is this effect done by creating one letter at a time and adjusting the height?
I see images like this from time to time and I like the color and contrast, yet I’ve not been able to reproduce this effect.
I don’t think the image has been manipulated, however I’d like to be able to reproduce this effect, how I might go about reproducing this effect?
I want to create a series of photomanipulated images that I would title "Be Extraordinary." Basically, I want every picture to be a picture of me doing some sort of extraordinary thing, leaning more towards sci-fi stuff. I already have an idea for one of me wielding a lightsaber, but after that, I've run out of ideas for anything I know how to do in Photoshop. I had an idea for me creating some sort of energy shield, but I simply don't know how to really create that effect in Photoshop.
View 3 Replies View RelatedAlthough many of these look like they are made in Maya or 3DS they are in fact real people. This is a 2 part question, first is where does one find larger format high res backgrounds like those in the links below and most importantly how can I make my subjects look like they are on a poster.
If anyone knows how this is done that would be great! I am at a loss! What programs were likely used?
I just upgraded to a new computer setup and installed Photoshop CC and well..... I can't figure out how to manipulate paths like in CS6.
Â
On the left is a what path manipulation with anchor points looks like in CS6 on my old slow iMac, and on the right is the new CC with direction selection on, but instead I can't manipulate paths. How can I get it to work like CS6? Also, I know about the isolating layers thing, but that still doesn't let me manipulate certain anchor points.
Â
why Command + . isn't allowed in CC as a hotkey?
ok a while ago i saw a cool tut and made this but i tried to remake it today and couldnt quite get it so does anyone know either how this was done or where i could find that tut for it again? oh ya, i remember i used like 3 lens flares and wave but i can't remember the exact steps,

View 7 Replies View RelatedI am working with vector art that has lines that either look like they were cut off and not finished out or extend to the edge of the page so they are straight when they should actually be curved.
Is there any way to take a straight line or part of an image and curve it with ease or will I have to redraw or alter each line?
I'm putting together a series of images, and I want the horizon line to be a constant from image to image, though they were not that way in the original files. I'm assuming that I should go with the picture that has the smallest distance from the bottom of the picture and then crop the others so the distance appears to be the same in them as well. But is there a way to make that a simple process?
View 1 Replies View Relatedresolution and printing. I know some of these questions are not specifically adobe Photoshop related,I understand the theory of dpi vs ppi and resolution vs print. However, I am not sure how to print compositions with mulitple images such as a photo maniupulation.
Â
So here are my questions:
Â
1) If I make a document set for 300 ppi and all my other layers and photos be 300 ppi? What if my photo is at 600 ppi (which it wouldn't be but for instance.)
Â
2) I want to maintain print quality, but need to resize a photo to fit on the composition. For instance I want to keep my photo at 300 ppi but need to shrink it to fit on the smaller background composition I can resample or not.
    - Not resampling does not allow me to digitally view the size, but maintains original photo quality. It also adds ppi which makes a huge file size to work on.
    - Resampling allows me to keep the same dpi but hinders the quality.
Â
If I am combining two images together that need to be high resolution for print and then need to be resized what is the best option? How can I view them digitally? Here is an example:
Â
I have a document set at 300 ppi and the calculated pixels needed for whatever print size document I will use. The 'background' will say be white.I then want to add a photo at 300 ppi but it needs to shrink to fit on the 'background.'How can I shrink that photo and still maintain a quality print AND see it on screen?Â
How to do photo manipulation! Like this:
or some thing as simple as putting sunglasses on a cat for a start.
i'm attempting to photoshop this so the foam in the beer separates in the form of the supplied black shape. like it looks like its been stamped in the foam.
