Basically it just freezes and doesn't even let me quit the program, i have to force quit it every time.

Whether I use my Wacom tablet or the mouse none of the tools that normally allow you to draw (pencil, brush, airbrush, etc.) work anymore (cropping, distorting the image and the likes work fine though), doesn't matter if it's a brand new document or an old file. The funny thing is that when I go to the "Edit" menu it'll allow me to rollback and undo whatever I did with the aforementioned tools, even though there's no trace of it on the empty canvas itself.I tried to uninstall and install the software back but it didn't do the trick.
So, yesterday I was trying to halftone an image. Everything was working fine, but I couldn't figure out how to use it the way I wanted to. So I found a tutorial. I read it, figured out what I was doing wrong, went on my way. Everything seemed fine.
Then I went to use my newfound knowledge, and lo and behold, the Newsprint filter stopped working. No matter what I tried, the preview image looked just like the original. And when I tried applying the filter anyway, figuring maybe something was just up with the preview panel, nothing happened. The filter pauses to load when I change something, acting like it's working, but nothing happens. The closest thing I've been able to get was the image completely disappearing when I change a certain setting (switch to luminosity, in case you were wondering). I tried googling my problem, but all that gets me is tutorials and the how-to-use guide.
Lightroom 3.3 just stopped working error says lightroom has stopped working and shuts down. installed photoshop CS3 is that the problem?

I have been using Elements for quite a few years and have had no problem in resizing images until last week. I often use the option of resizing using the cm measurements I want. When I tried this on my laptop last week the programme would not allow me to change any of the figures in the resizing dialog box. I tried cm, pixels and percentage and none of them would work.
I tried a number of different images from one file but could not resize any of them however I opened an image from another file which I know i have resi9zed in the past and this time the function worked fine.
I copied the image I couldn't resize to my main computer which also has Photoshop Elements and the resize function worked fine on this computer.
I uninstalled Elements and then re-installed it on my laptop but still have the same problem. I also have Photosphop Cs4 on my laptop and the resize function has stopped working in this programme as well.
I was trying thje new lightroom 4 beta, and is been crashing everytime I try to work with it..I was editing a picture and trying to see with the before and after view, and is been crashing since then, why is that?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm not really an artist or good with image manipulations, but I am learning how to create games on my own (using Unity3D currently) and have to create some basic art or animations myself when I can't find it available for free online, and I do that in paint.net.
Right now I'm working on an asteroids clone to further my learning and what I want to do is when the player ship spawns in the game, I want to have a little flash so that it doesn't look as if the ship just appears out of nowhere.
I figured that the closest thing to what I want looks like a camera flash and have been looking for this online but have yet found nothing. I've searched these forums, too, in both Plugins and the tutorials for creations and distortions/modifications but have also come up empty.
There was a plugin for a lens flare effect, but is not what I need, and one plugin that creates glitter/sparks, but that one seems to only work when you have a suitable image to work with, whereas I need something that creates this kind of flash by itself.
When I use a brush (like the airbrush, the clone, the eraser) I cant see the brush when I go to use it on the image (the edges of what will be be painted, cloned, etc), so im having to do blind guess-work---basically i just click and then I can see how big the brush was. In prior versions of GIMP there was a semi-transparent line indicating the brush shape and size.

Rebooted computer and tried to open Photoshop CC but it crashes on initialization.
As interim measure I installed PS CS6 as an optional external editor in Lightroom, but I would like to use Photoshop CC again one day!
Yesterday, I tried to start up Photoshop, but it got halfway through initializing and stopped, flashing a message: "Adobe Photoshop CS5.1 has stopped working." I shut down the computer and tried again, but it repeated three or four times.
So I uninstalled the program. Upon reinstallation, installation failed and the computer said: "Your installation encountered errors. Please try restarting your system and installing again. Exit Code: 20."
I have been using my program since June without issue. Suddenly it stopped working. I can open the program but it will not create a new file or open an existing file. If I "open with" from windows explorer it won't open either. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the program and I'm still not having any luck.

I get an error message from windows vista premiumm home.
It just says: Adobe Photoshop CS3 has stopped working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available. The only option is a box that says "close program". Once you close it everything goes away. It doesn't even give you a hint of what the problem could be. I installed creative suite 3 web premium on this brand new computer about 2 weeks ago. This is a first time install of this software, but when I called Adobe they said they don't offer free installation help anymore on cs3 because cs4 is out now. Anyone have a clue what I should do? I can't just uninstall photoshop, if I try it wants to uninstall all 8 programs.
After recently installing LR 5 today this message starting appearing. I cannot get around it.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am working on a floor plan in CS5 Photoshop. Just basically tracing over an original document and erasing what I trace over. I do this all the time and it has been working fine.
But now the eraser won't work at all. When i turn off all the layers except the background layer I can erase things, but then when I turn the layers back on, it doesn't show up erased. I've tried resetting the tool and that didn't work. I'm so confused as to why it just stopped working.
i'm getting the error shown in subject. view details indicates problem with cooltype.dll. error started immediately after i activated a font in suitcase fusion 3. i was able to run photoshop 32bit to finish job. i deactivated font in suitcase and restarted computer. suitcase is not running but i still cannot run photoshop. what can i do to fix??
