Photoshop :: How To Paint Without Destroying Target Area's Texture

Mar 21, 2012

have been trying to change the color of some skin, by painting with mode in Color and opacity 50%. the problem is that along with the new color, the old texture is replaced! I am using just a brush and sampling very frequently.

Lightroom :: Spot Removal Tool Target Area Selection Not Visible

Jul 4, 2013

When using the LR5 spot removal tool I can perform cloning or healing and LR automatically selects the target used to clone from, but I cannot see where this area is on the image.  A pin should appear with a line connecting the area to be removed and the target area used to clone from.  I see no pin.  Is this controled by a setting?

Paint.NET :: Cracks On Ground Texture That Show Lava Texture

Mar 4, 2012

I have a lava texture and a ground texture. I'd like to be able to make some cracks on the ground texture that would show through the lava texture below it. Something like a cracked mud look. I would be using this for a game I'm making form some terrain textures. Are there any plugins that would aid in making these transparent cracks and perhaps even add depth to the cracks?

I guess a spider web where the spider was on crack would be something I'm looking for. Similar to the following image:

Photoshop :: Replacing Texture On A Blurred Area?

Dec 18, 2006

I was retouching a leather jacket last night and had to warp a section and then refine using the clone stamp. The end result is fairly blurry. I tried to "steal" the texture of the jacket from another section of the jacket but was unhappy with all my efforts. Mostly I tried the Pattern Stamp after using Pattern Maker, but this changed the color too much for my taste. Perhaps I was creating the stamp pattern incorrectly. I tried adding a little monchromatic noise, which was OK, but I'd rather get back that nice leather texture.

Can anyone describe a method to "texturize" one area using the texture from another area?

AutoCAD Inventor :: Change Texture Of Hatched Area On IDW

Jan 29, 2013

The part I am detailing is a cast iron part, and I have appropriately changed the material appearance to match. On the IDW, a section view shows in the hatched area the same material as the non-hatched area. BUT, as we know, when we cut a cast iron part in half, the cut section of the part looks different then the outside.

Is there a way I can change the material appearance of the sectioned area of the part on the IDW, so it appears more obvious that it's a cut section?

Paint Shop Pro :: Change To Target Brush

Jul 17, 2012

PSPX4's change to target tool has never worked right for me. I have X2 which does work right. In PSPX4 no matter what the setting it applies way too much color. Even at 1% opacity it is like about 80% in PSPX2 with all settings the same.

Latest updates installed. PSPX4 still does not like Adobe LR4 JPEGs when resaving them, although I now get an error message instead of a save that loses the file for good as some 4-8k sized file that can't be opened. I still have to use X2 for those two reasons.

Paint Shop Pro :: Masks - Automatically Stretch To Size Of Target Image?

Aug 22, 2012

Do masks automatically stretch to the size of the target image?

In PSP8 I opened my target, 1615 x 1066 px:

Then, following the instructions, I opened this circular mask, 450 x 450 px:

But after completing the procedure my result looks like this, with an elliptical 'see through' area instead of a circle:

If this is by design, how would I get the circular effect I want? There are simpler ways of doing it for an all black/white mask.

CorelDRAW X6 :: Draw Destroying Saved Documents?

Mar 25, 2013

I just wrote about the crash on scroll. Now when I try to open the file draw goes through the motions of opening it and end up with an untitled document. The entire file has been destroyed. I've had this kind of trouble before but not since I upgraded from Windows XP to Windows 7. It makes Draw almost impossible to use since any action even saving might trigger a crash and with the crash comes the possibility that the file is lost. Does this behaviour was specifically addressed and fixed with any of the service packs? I'm still using the original build.

Lightroom :: 4.3 Is Randomly Destroying 5DMkIII Raw Images

Nov 29, 2012

I recently acquired the 5DMkIII and after I import the RAW images into LR 4.3RC, LR will, apparently randomly, divide an image into rectangles and color it with psychodelic colors.  Out of about 700 images from my last shoot, it has only happened to 3 or 4, so far.  But it can happen immediately upon import or on a subsequent viewing/developing of the images.  It seems to happen at the time I click on the thumbnail to view or edit the image.I have inserted a sample.  This is an image of a hawk on a post (the bird is in the center of the image).  Theoretically, I can reimport the image from the CF card and hope it doesn't happen again (assuming I haven't reformated the card).  Is this an issue with the camera or LR?  It began happening on the Mark III images.  I've used 7D, 40D, and XT before this with no problem.

AutoCAD Inventor :: Changing NonParametricBaseFeature Without Destroying References?

Aug 14, 2013

We've written an Inventor AddIn that creates a ClientFeature in a part document using one or more NonParametricBaseFeature objects that get force-fed with the geometry we compute (through a TransientBRep object). The result of this is one solid. So far, this works well enough.

However, we've recently encountered a problem with drawings based on part documents like that: Dimensions (measures) added to the drawing get deleted when the NonParametricBaseFeature gets replaced by a new one, even if the two have the same topology or are, in fact, geometrically identical. I assume this is because the new feature has no relation to the original one and there is basically no way the drawing can know what geometry the dimension is referring to. So far, we assumed the references to geometry in a part document would be something like Solid(0).Face(0).Edge(0) etc, but this doesn't seem to be the case. Otherwise, replacing the feature with a new one that is identical would not destroy these references.

I would like to achieve the following: Through the use of ModelingEvents.OnClientFeatureDoubleClick our ClientFeature gets replaced by an updated version and all drawings referencing this feature get updated accordingly with all dimensions intact, as long as the changes only affect geometry and the topology stays the same.

PS: Currently we're working with Inventor 2013 and 2014, using the .NET API in C#.

Photoshop :: Texture OBJ File With Multiple Maps Keeps Getting Overlap / When Paint On Figure

Apr 23, 2012

Texturing an .obj file with multiple maps keeps getting overlap when I paint on the figure.

I am very new to 3D Painting in Photoshop but I am nominally knowledgeable of Photoshop in general for 2D work. I exported the Genesis figure from DAZ Studio into an .obj file and painted on it in Photoshop 5.5.

When I paint on his face, other marks show up on his torso and thigh and eyes, even. It is like all of the diffuse maps are "stacked upon one another" (though not in layers, just one one layer.)

Then I used the flatten. But now I need a light to shine thru the window pane for a night effect. How would I do this? Would I use the Effect\Photo\Glow? How would I save the completed image as a _LM image?
