I want to blend and tone the center image (mostly the wood panels) so it looks somewhat compatible with the images on the side. I did one botched job of working on the file for a few hours, and didn't save it in my earlier stages, to my regret. It's all one image.
As a preliminary to a digital painting I need to identify the overall mid tone (tonal value, not hue) of a color photograph and then reproduce that mid tone in the CS4 Color Picker (or somewhere) so that there is a choice of color tints that can be given to that particular (overall mid) tone. It will then be used to simulate an imprimatura transparent wash treatment over a white canvas (layer).
It should be easy I'm sure but I haven't been able to find a way to do it. I had hoped that Levels might be used to identify the mid tone, and then give it an identifier (?like an RGB number)which could be used in the Color Picker to choose a color with the mid tone value.
I am wondering how I can take a normal image and convert it to a retro style two tone image, with one darker color and one lighter (or white) color. Which one color or the other acting as shadows on the image. For examples, see ....
I have a lot of pictures taken under restricted library conditions where lighting is wysiwyg. A lot of the pics end up with an annoying gradation of tone caused by the poor lighting (and my poor photography skills), such as the attached image. Â I use PSE 9 on a Mac. Â How can I apply a uniform tone to images like this in PSE? For example, in the attached sample, the left-hand portion has a nice strong tone, while the right side is washed out. How can I create a nice unformity across the entire image?
i was wondering if there is a way to blend the same image together. One side of the image is green plain. The other is a woman's face with greenish grayish background bhind her but a little to the right is the plain green box. How do i blend the green into her background? I have seen the blending of two photos together but what if it is the same photo?
I would like to create an image like the one attached. It has very nice effects including the blending and an added shade of purple to some parts of the image. Anybody knows how I can achieve this in FIREWORKS please?
Photoshop CS2, I have two images (ImageA and ImageB),2) I want to place ImageB onto a canvas with ImageA - this I can do,3) When I place ImageB onto the canvas and nudge it to ImageA, I want the RIGHT side of ImageA to Blend/Merge/Feather with the LEFT side of ImageB. The result is that I do not want to see the edges of either images when they are nudged together. I'd like them to "Flow" together. Also, I'd like to be able to put a "Glow Around" then entire merged content, but Ithink I have a link that explains this. I am not sure of the terminology above - Blend/Merge/Feather
i was wondering if it would be possible to get a plugin or maybe there's a way to do this that would 'blend' the border of one image that you paste on top of another, larger image. so that the borders wont contrast - like a black dot on a white page.
if that description doesn't make sense, imagine using such a tool on a a black dot on a white page. it would make the outer part of the circle transition from black, to dark grey, to a lighter grey, and then to white...
When I try to use the Apply Image Command to blend two images, the command only allows me to blend the target image with itself; that is, with two images open, the only image available to me as the source image is the target image.
I have "group1" and inside that group, only one layer: "layer1". The blending mode for "group1" is vivid light and for "layer1" it's "normal".
Now, if I change "group1" to "pass through" and "layer1" to "vivid light" ... the result is completely different, while it should be the same, shouldn't it?
following image shows up fine on WIndows machines, but on Macs it shows up as balck instead of navy, why? I have tried svaing in PDF, JPG, PNG, and PDF nwith Mac color profiles... what is going on? PS, the navy is #0d1125
When using the blend tool to blend colour between two objects is there a way to see the anchor points so I know where to click the blend tool.  I realise the cursor changes when over one but its seems very cumbersome to have to move it around until it changes rather than click directly on one which I could do if I could see it.
I'm using Illustrator CC (on a Win7 Pro machine) at a beginner level, probably halfway to intermediate. I'm trying to learn how to blend colors together for highlights of various types (skin tones, clothing, light on objects, etc.) so that when I'm making a graphic for a project I'll have a decent idea of which tool/technique is best for the specific effect I need. Â I'm trying to use the Smooth Color option in the blend tool. Late yesterday afternoon I recall creating two ellipses (one of which was a solid fill and one of which was a gradient going from black to transparent) and getting a smooth color transition between the two. It was a much harsher effect than I was looking for so I didn't keep it. This morning, while trying to replicate the same thing, I seem to be unable to use smooth color between two objects if one or more of them has a gradient applied. I only get what you see below, which is a step between the two objects. Â I've done searches and found multiple references to blending gradients in this way and have followed those instructions (create the shapes, fill with the gradients, then either click on the Blend tool and click on the center of each shape, or click on Object -> Blend -> Make) but I can't seem to get a Smooth Color blend if either object has a gradient applied. Am I missing an important step somewhere? I'm 95% sure I accomplished it yesterday and nothing has been changed since then.
How do you take an image, and set another image inside of it. Using a gradual blending transformation, where you are able to see the main image, with a gradual transformation to the image you placed inside.
I am trying to blend two different art brushes with different colors using the blend tool. I'm trying to use two fixed-size line segments of the same length and then applying the two different brushes to those segments ( each art brush is a different color). Then I want to blend them the regular way so their colors transition. However, when I do this, the first shape is a different color, but all subsequent blend steps are the color of the second blended shape. Why is this? It doesn't blend the colors for some reason.
I am having diffuculty with the blend tool! I tried to upload the image but it said it was't allowed. Not sure how to correctly explain the problem but I'll do my best. I am have trouble getting the blend tool to recognize the images. I can only select the very edge of the images and then it doesn't look like it should when it does blend. How I can upload the file to show what I am trying to say?
When I copy a selection from one image to another, I can't select the feather tool to blend it in the new image (it's greyed out). I have to first anchor the layer, then use the paths tool to re-select the pasted portion again, then feather. Is there another way?
Update: Looks like I can feather before copying/pasting the selection.
I'm a photoshop noob but am learning fast. I'm having a bit of trouble doing something that I imagine to most of you is quite straight forward. Â Basically, I have a square image (3000px x 3000px) and I want to cut out an exact circle from the centre of the picture. So I choose the Ellipitcal marquee tool and place my cursor approximately in centre of the picture, hold down SHIFT and ALT and drag to the desired circle size. Next I press V to bring up the alignment toolbar hoping that I could centre the selection to the exact middle of the picture but I can't. PS won't allow me to select any of the alignment buttons. Â After this I want to take the CUT image and paste as a new image so that I have a just the circle and it's contents and no rectangular background. I'm sure PASTE will do this but I can't get this far.
I just got a new Lightscribe drive and I have been having a field day making custom labels for old data discs. Now I have decided I want to make some backups of some of my games so I can put the original discs/boxes into storage finally.
The problem with this is that Lightscribe discs have a larger "unprintable" radius at the center of the disc that other media. I found that when I scanned some of my discs and imported them directly into the LS Print program I was losing alot of information/text/pictures.
Essentially I need to take a point in the center of the circle and 'stretch' it outward in a circular pattern. (If you have seen Ace Venctura 2, think about when he had to escape from his mechanical rhino-spy vehicle through its bum I have also attached an image so you can see exactly what I mean. The read circle in the middle is approximately where the most inner edge of a LS disc can begin to print.
where to even begin as far as keywords go. I do realize that there will be a certain degree of 'smushage' (technical term) on my final product, but I would rather keep the original disc look than having to make my own custom disc for each game.
I am using photoshop elements. I would like to scan in a book cover, and make it appear on a white background and center the picture do the white background surrounds the image. Is this done by some layer? How do I do this? Its a shame I could not attached the image, which I would like my scanned cover book to be like.
I notice in the latest version of PSE, they have added a checkbox Center IMage to the PSE prnter driver. In previous version there was no option to drag an image to another part of the page.  But when I uncheck Center Image in PSE 11 I am still unable to drag the image to a differnet location on the page. Am I missing something? What function does this checkbox have if I am unable to drag a picture elsewhere on the page?
Is there any way to set a preference so that when I open an image from my Finder (Mac) it opens in the center of my Application Frame workspace rather than always docked to the top left corner? Â CS5.1 Extended, updated, current Mac OSX updated
When I drag a 3600x3600 px image onto a 3600x3600 px canvas, my image gets placed on the canvas with it's center at 1803,1803 px. So it's off just a tiny bit. When I place an image smaller than 3600x3600 px, it gets placed on the canvas with its center at 1802,1802 px or 1802.5,1802.5 px It's not terribly difficult to center it after it's placed, but I'd rather not spend the 5 seconds or so every time I place an image if I don't have to.
i have a few hundreds images i need to watermark. The watermark i can do fine. but i have varying image widths.
I want the watermark to be centralised on the image. I also want to batch the process so i'm trying to work out if it's possible to centralise in an action.
