am trying to send a jpeg format flyer to an arts center ...am having a big event...managed to get the type in..have 2 photos I wish to import...can't figure it out...am used to Publisher...insert/import image...bang..done! I reduced the image size already...have the 2 files up ...

I am new to GIMP.
I want to import a photo, trace geometric shapes over the photo like circles and lines, and then remove the photo. I have a very basic understanding of LAYERS. I have viewed a few tutorials. But I don't know how to import a photo or how to get rid of it once I have drawn the geometric shapes over it.
Just gotta do a A6 Flyer which will be printed by a priniting company.
Just checking should the bleed size be 2mm?
I made a flyer in Photoshop, I saved it as a JPG. Then I went into my email client AOL to insert it into the body of the email to send out to my clientele. I sent it to myself first to check the resolution etc. The problem is I cannot get it to keep the orginal aspect ration within the email. I compared it to other flyers sent to me, that were produced in Photoshop, I checked all the specs and everything in them matched mine. When I put them into the email the retained their orginal format.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to print a flyer that has art on the front and back. I copied the images from Photoshop CS to Microsoft Word on page one and two. I then printed page one and then turned the page over and printed page two on the back. Though I have the same settings for page one and two in Word, it's not aligning.
Is there another way to do this so I can get perfect alignment for the front and back of the page. Can I do this with Photoshop or should I use a table in Microsoft Word or should I use another program altogether like Adobe Pagemaker or Quarkexpress.

If it does bleed to the edges, do I only need to make sure that the artwork on my artboard touches the edges of my artboard? OR is there something else that needs to be done?

I'm trying to import a photo created in photoshop with a transparent background to Adobe Flash and I'm getting a noticeable halo around the photo. This is exported as a PNG-24. I've tried going in to the photoshop file and taking off a little bit, but it still gives me the same outcome. I've also tried exporting as a GIF, and a PNG-8 with a matte. No matter what I do, it leaves the halo.

Is there a Plug-In that may be missing for this to operate as it used to in Elements 6 running on an older G5 Non-Intel processor? Although preview of photos to be imported is shown I only get the message that the import could not be carried out (1) and the option to save the data as a :txt file. This was with Lightroom 4. It started first with being unabel to import directly from the camera, then I swithched to inserting the SD card directly into the laptop. This worked only after first downloading to the desktop. Later this didn't work either. I thought the program had become defect. Preview still worked and export is fine. I therefore updated to Lightroom 5 in the hope that this would solve the problem. However everything remains the same. Import still doesn't work with photos of any format. e.g. jpg or RAW.
