Sep 12, 2011If i'm making a A5 flyer on PSPX2, what size should I make it?
Would it work if when creating the new image, it's the length x width of an actual A5 flyer?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been using PSP for a long time now (fisrtly PSP7 and now PSP9) and I wanted to buy the new version PSPX4. I downloaded the free-trial version and I saw that it is impossible to generate files bigger than 10'000x10'000 pixels. In the canvas size menu, it's impossible to give a higher number. The problem is that a made bigger files with PSP9 and I'd like to keep on working on it without resizing them.
So my question is : Is it only a limitation of the trial version or is it simply impossible to work with bigger images than 10k x 10k ? I hope there is a simple solution because PSP9 encounters some problems with Win7...
I have used PSP since version 2, so have been at it for awhile. Just upgraded to 6, as I was using version 4.
The problem I have is when I am in the edit area, and have a photo on the screen I use my mouse wheel to enlarge or shrink depending on my needs. The old version the windows box around image would also resize with image. I have attached a few images. I normal could fix this in the settings, but for some reason the window will not follow the image size as I enlarge or shrink? It does when I actually resize image, but I need this to do that when I am just using mouse wheel to make bigger or smaller on my screen.
I can not use my HP scanner. It looks like the image size is wrong and should be reduced to less than 49999 pixels high x 4999 pixels wide. Where could I change the image size in X4. Using Windows 7 Pro.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm new to this, but have noticed that whenever I choose the "save as" command for an open photo file, the saved file is much smaller. Even when, for example, I name a picture and make no other changes, the file size goes from say 2.4MB to 640 or so. And these are jpeg to jpeg saves. I have to think this diminishes resolution and options for future edits. Is there a way change some save settings or something?

When I save a picture it goes from 6mb to 700kb. Is this normal or do I need to do something different and does it effect the picture quality when printing?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have PaintShop Pro X3 and pretty much all the other programs. I scanned lots of photos (6*4) at a 300 dpi which works out at about 11 meg each photo (i think this was overkill!). However, when i created a slideshow these photos are shown as about one quarter sized. Is there any way i can correct this ? Should i for the future scan at a different dpi ? I want to view the images as a slideshow and am not interested in printing them.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy Canon 7D typically produces a JPG file in the 5B to 12MB range if set to the largest JPG quality. My problem is that if I open for example a 7MB file in Photo Pro X3 and save it again (even if I make no changes) the resulting file is about 2MB. Obviously some compression is happening which I want to avoid/control. Is it possible to set the default compression that X3 uses?
If I use file - export - JPG optimizer I can control things but if I for example want to do a batch process on lots of files. I have used Paint shop Pro since version 5 and love it but I might have to change to another editor if I cannot solve this one.
When I try to import from a twain bron. Canoscan lide 210 says the picture is 10x15 cm = about 4x6 inch. Looks alright. But after import the size of the picture in PSP x4 and X5 is 4x6 centimeters. So somewhere it's going wrong.
View 2 Replies View RelatedIn previous versions through customize options there was the option to tick for large icons. It has been left out of X4 or is it there and I can't find it. That option was very good for big screens. Do they intend to bring it back in the update along with the colored icons.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen photographing a tall object from the ground, for example the rectangle of a house wall, the picture perspective will be distorted in the sense that the bottom of the wall will be wider in the picture than the top of the wall.
Say, for example, that the bottom of the house wall in the picture is 1 inch wider than the top of the wall. Is it possible to increase the size of the picture gradually from the bottom to the top, from 0% of 1 inch at the bottom to 100% of 1inch at the top? So the end result in the picture will be an evenly sized wall from bottom to top?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm trying out X4, and I don't know if I'm doing something wrong, but it seems like the canvas size on X4 at any resolution is much smaller than in X3, e.g., at 200 pixels/inch, X4 allows 50"x50", while X3 allows 164x164". Similarly at 150 pixels/inch, X3 allows 218", while X4 allows approximately 67". Given the fact that X4 is supposed to provide access to more memory, and uses a scratch pad, this does not make sense to me-

In PSP8 I opened my target, 1615 x 1066 px:
Then, following the instructions, I opened this circular mask, 450 x 450 px:
But after completing the procedure my result looks like this, with an elliptical 'see through' area instead of a circle:
If this is by design, how would I get the circular effect I want? There are simpler ways of doing it for an all black/white mask.
I created a image (with blank background) with dimensions 640 x 480 (its my default working image).
I have copied photograph with dimensions 7300 x 4200 and pasted as new layer on the image (640 x 480). Obviously, the pasted photograph is bigger and it couldn't be showed totally. I am adjusting the size of the photograph manually, dragging and dropping its corner lots of time.
I tried to use "image => resize" / "image => canvas size". But it just act on my default image (640 x 480), not the photograph (even when its layer is selected).
So, is there any way of resize the photograph automatically to fit in the default image (640 x 480)?
I have added 9pt vector text in multiple places of an image. Now I realize it should have been 8pt. I can add new text as 8pt but cant figure out how to change the point size of vector text that is already on the image. If I select a vector text object and then change the point size on the "Size" drop down menu at the top nothing happens. If I right click the vector object and select Edit Text I can change the actual text but not the font or its size. If I right-click the vector object and select Properties I can change stroke, fill, line style etc but this window does not include font or size. How do I change the font and point size for existing vector text objects?
View 3 Replies View RelatedIn vX1 I could save jpeg without substantially reducing file Mb size. In vX4, whenever I edit and save a jpeg file (using save & save as), it results in a reduced number of Mb's. Options in the 'save as' dialog are set at best. It would appear that PSP X4 is automatically optimising. Is there any way that the original file size can be retained on saving after editing?

I've got a JPEG image file straight from my camera that's approximately 4.1MB in size. If I do nothing else but "Save As" with a compression factor of 1, the new file size is approximately 50% larger, or 6.2MB. What has changed to make the file size larger? Both images are still 72DPI, 3648X2736px. I can't image that I have done anything to "improve" image quality, so why did the file size increase?

Checked the manual and they forgot to mention it.

Can it be simply generated in PSP X2/X4 or some good even online generator?
Just came upon an error I had not seen before. Though PSP no longer supports Animation Shop, up until PSP X4, the user has been able to export frames back to PSP from Animation Shop. Now, this no longer works! There's still some communication there, because an error message - which, incidentally, makes absolutely no sense at all - is generated in PSP X4:
