I wonder how i can save the import settings in photo down loader to always have same settings when extracting images? It always adjust it self back to default and i need to find my location again.
Also. When working in CS5, and i want to apply e.g sharpening i go to filters and the slide appears, moving down to sharpen the new "window" appears on the left side and not the right.
I can no longer import .nef files via the Photo Downloader. It is only importing .jpg which I rarely shoot.

View 6 Replies View RelatedWhen downloading photos off a SD card, Photo Downloader will occasionally hang. Doesn't happen all the time. I need to go to Activity Monitor and Force Quit the Photo Downloader, which is showing the status Not Responding.
Photoshop Elements Organizer then hangs and I have to shoot this process as well. Also showing Not Responding. Restart Photoshop Elements Organizer and can see the photos that have been imported.
Is there any simple way to stop this running (from PE 11) at boot up?

But when I tap "get media" nothing happens and I then cannot even cancel or close the photo downloader page, which Task Manager says is not responding.
View 1 Replies View RelatedThe default sort for the Photo Downloader seems be by date and time. I recently purchased a camera the does up to 10 fps and the Downloader does not seems to have resolution to sort the micro-second or even second. I batch download the images and also do a rename of the files in this format yyyymmdd-###. I am finding my action sequences are all out of order. What I really just need the Downloader to do is sort by sequential camera number just like it comes out of the camera. Then all the images would be renamed in the right order. I tried modifying the XML settings file but that was no success.

My partner has just changed his laptop and now realises that PSE 9 won't give him the option of pre-selecting photos, due to the smaller screen. The laptop won't display at 800 res. The height of the screen is too small. He's annoyed because this problem will affect all users of PSE 9 who get a new laptop with a smaller height screen, which is most new laptops!! It ran perfect on the old Sony Vaio..... till the graphics card went seriously dead! Has this problem been resolved with PSE 10 or 11? If so, it might be worth upgrading to one of those.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI just installed PSP X2 Ultimate and after first memory card use, I unchecked Photo Down loader so it won't run when I start the computer. Now when I "manually" move files from my memory card (SD) to my hard drive, I am Not able to delete those file on the memory card. Nor can I simply Move the files to my hard drive.
I had no problems before installing PSP. Now to remove the files I have to reformat the card(s) each time.
Seems like Photo Down loader put some hooks in the OS to operate and didn't remove them when I disabled it.
Every time I insert a USB stick or CD or DVD which contains image files I get a popup window asking me if I want to download those files.
I know that I can disable this annoying window by running MSCONFIG and then selecting STARTUP and then unselecting CorelIOMonitor and Corel Photo Downloader but is there another way of disabling it (as I really prefer not to change STARTUP.
This issue occured shortly after update to 4.2, but not directly after. I am using windows 8.
The issue that occurs is after importing images they are adjusted automatically to develop module cross process 1. After dealing with this annoyance for a bit of time I realized that I can not even "RESET ALL" the images to delete the adjustment. In delving into other images that have been in my database for quite some time, I have tried to "RESET ALL", which resets images to CROSS PROCESS 1. I have never set import to automatically adjust.

View 5 Replies View RelatedWhen I first started using CS6 I would edit my photos and when I used "save as" to save my photos then open them in a different photo viewer they would have lost a lot of color and contrast. When I reopened them in CS6 they still had no color. This is all occured on my PC. I used to use PSE 7 (on my PC) and the "save as" function to save them and they turned out fine. I recently got an iMac and when saved on there the same way and reopened in a different viewer they'd have the correct color,
but when opened on my PC the color would be lost again. Also tried opening the images I saved on my PC in CS6 on the iMac and they still had no colo/contrast. So that would mean it's not a monitor calibration thing. I'm trying to figure out how to save my photos so they have the best quality they can have for printing and also the correct color for clients to view on their computers.
PS: I did use the "save for web" option on my PC and the photos have the correct color that way! But those aren't the proper size and stuff for printing. Also I'm very new to iMac and full photoshop so I'm not sure what sizes/pixels/color modes/etc are normal or what photos are supposed to be.
When the 'up' arrow appears in a thumbnail and comes up with the message:

What exactly does that mean? This seems to happen every time I export an image to PS (CS5) and return to LR. What exactly has changed? What settings are being imported if I choose 'import settings from disk'.
After slicing an image, choosing Save For Web, and then choosing one of the jpg presets from the drop down list, then clicking on Save, it shows me in the next "Save Optimized As" window that the Save As Type file type is gif - and there is no jpg on the list that I can choose. Why is my ability to save as jpg slices gone? I've not made any changes to the default settings and I'm not sure how to get it back... I'm only moderately skilled at Photoshop (skilled enough to create my web site mockups and slice and so on...) but if someone could point me in the right direction, or to a tutorial for this process that would be great. Am using Photoshop CS (version 8 or 9?)
On this same note, I have noticed that often the slices (when they worked before) will have weird names such as Layout_12-13 or some such "overlapping" of slice numbers although, from what I can tell the slices do not actually overlap... what is THIS all about?
I am using an sRGB workflow as my output is for the web. I am using a NEC 2690 LCD display which is wide colour gamut but I am using in its factory set sRGB (and non-calibratable) mode. I have calibrated the NEC using my Eye One display and this shows as the default monitor profile in the vga card's driver but what effect it is actually having I am not sure (OS is Vista 32bit). My CS4 colour management settings are based round the sRGB Working Space. Normally I convert to sRGB all images before saving them in Save for Web.
I am trying to ensure that the colours I see in images at the Save for Web stage preview are what I will see on the web and in other non colour managed environments. I am trying to achieve:
Preset: JPEG High
Quality: High
Optimize selected (but not Progressive or Embed Colour Profile)
Convert to sRGB selected
Preview: Use Document Profile
In the past (pre-CS4) I've had problems with images outside of CS3 looking over colour saturated and I want to avoid this now.
I'm working with DICOM images and want to use the "open as volume" option that photoshop gives when you open DICOMs and import to PS. However, it does not give me this option when i open up files. What is the problem here?

I want to import a photo, trace geometric shapes over the photo like circles and lines, and then remove the photo. I have a very basic understanding of LAYERS. I have viewed a few tutorials. But I don't know how to import a photo or how to get rid of it once I have drawn the geometric shapes over it.
I am using Adobe Photoshop CS6 and I tried the shortcut (Ctrl + Shift + Alt) but that doesn't reset the Safe for Web settings.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI need to compress about 1,000 jpg images and I'm using the "save for web" feature in Photoshop 7 but I'm running into problems because my file names are very long and its cutting them off. I found the workaround by editing the output settings and unchecking the "Mac OS" box under "Filename Compatibility".
However, the problem is that the default settings do not stay like this once I hit OK and I end up having to uncheck the Mac OS box for each and every file. Is there a way to permanently change the default settings so I can do batch processing for all my images?
Quick question How do I import my gradient map settings from CS3 on my old I mac into my new Mac that uses CS6? Is there a folder somewhere that I can just copy and paste?

I am scanning my photos using photoshop's import command in the file menu. While scanning there exists some settings for correction in the scanner software. Now I would like to know which settings (either settings in the scanner software or the settings in the photoshop) should i use for a scanned photo. Should I first scan without changing any settings in the scanner software and change the settings in the photoshop or to change settings in the scanner software?
I'm working with CS5 now and I mentioned the following terrible fact: When I open a vector EPS in CS5 raster settings are always CMYK and 72dpi. I know very well that CS2 remembers my first type in of settings (e.g. grayscale and 300dpi) and use it also for upcoming EPS files during a session. CS5 settings are CMYK and 72dpi always... each EPS.

Where would these preferences have disappeared to? I don't recall ever seeing the standard options ever since installing the CS3 Master Collection. ImageReady and Photoshop CS3 usually have a few JPG, GIF and PNG options.
Could I download the original settings file somewhere, without reinstalling anything?
While "Draw" of Coreldraw X5 is working well, Corel Photopaint X5 does not "Save", "Save as..." or "Export" files. It just does nothing, when I choose to save a file under "something.cpt". It works, as long as it is a JPG, but not as a CPT. I am working on a Win7, with CorelX5 in german. Support told me to reinstall.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have made 4 attempts to download this program for Windows 7 and CS5 (64 bit). I have successfully downloaded Adobe Air as required. However, when I try to open Lens Profile Dowloader.swf I get an error message. It won't let me copy and past the message so here it is in my own words. "Adobe Reader cannot open LensProfileDownloader.swf because the file has been damaged."
Is there a problem at Adobe's end with this program? Without this program I have no access to lens profiles created by individuals and shared with Adobe.
Why are photos out of sequence in Elements 11 Organizer Photo Downloader? When I rename photos they are downloaded in the "out of sequence" order - not the order in which the photos were taken.

I have hundreds of body objects which need to be in coarse. Is there a way to do it with a script, or is there an import option i have missed?
