Using the Navigator, I can enlarge the image, but am only able to view part of the image in the workspace, not the entire thing. When editing, I need to see the entire photo and its edges. I could do this in the earlier versions, but not 10. What am I doing wrong? I am a former user of photoshop 7, elements 8.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to use content-Aware fill to enlarge a photo into different aspect frame. The subject is in pool, surrounded by a large area of water. I've put the image in to the larger aspect ratio canvas, with a green solid background behind it, then merged those two layers together as one. I selected all the green and delted using content-aware fill. It did a pretty good job but it's also recreating some of the subject.
Is there a way that I can specify the area that it chooses from, ie the water?
I have a new digital photo frame that displays images at 480 X 234. Is there any easy technique in Photoshop to crop images to this size (or close), without manually drawing a rectangular marquee and trying to guess at it's size? Is there any way to draw a 480 X 234 pixel rectangle and then position it over the photo, then crop to the rectangle? Any suggestions would be appreciated, since I have about 500 pictures that I want to put on a memory card for Christmas.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a problem when viewing my RAW pictures taken from my Canon EOS 20D looking different when comparing them to PhotoShop CS2 and the Canon Digital Photo Professional 1.6.1.0 software that came with the camera. The colors in the Canon software are definitely better than the Photoshop view. I even downloaded the latest edition of Adobe Camera Raw (ACR) version 3.4 from the Adobe website but I can only select ACR 2.4 when viewing them in Photoshop for some reason. I know I can manually set the settings in ACR but am not having much luck getting the colors to match up with the Canon software. Too much red in the Photoshop ACR view. I want to do most of my editing in Photoshop but it is useless if the colors do no match what I print. PhotoShop help states the options to choose from under camera profile in ACR also depends on whether a camera raw has a profile embedded.
How does one get a RAW file in Photoshop CS2 to match the colors in Canon's Photo Professional 1.6.1.0 automatically and how does one get the ACR 3.4 option to appear in the camera profile setting in ACR?
I am trying to open a photo in camera raw and the image always has a lot of red and blue in the picture? What can I do to avoid this. When I first started learning photoshop this did not happen?

I'm trying to enlarge a 6x8 inch black and white line drawing jpg file to about 36x48..(actually a little smaller so it will fit on a 3x4 cork board) How can I do this in Corel Paint (or Draw) so that we end up with clean (and blurry) lines ?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI did use the scissors and eraser tool to cutout unwanted background, and now I have an image I want to save and copy to another photo. The problem is that Elements 11 won't let me open up another photo at the same time, or let me copy the selected image to clipboard to paste on a different photo.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've taken a photo of a display frame, and I need to align it perfectly horizontal in order to not crop off parts of the frame when editing out the background. I know how to move images back and forth with the crop tool, but it's not very precise, and I definitely don't want the frame in the image partly chopped off because I can't get it angled just right.
View 13 Replies View RelatedI would like to take a personal photo (like the one attached) against a solid off-white wall and then fill the background with a pattern (again, see the one attached). The idea is to have the digital pic look like it was taken against a professional background . . . how might i do this? I searched for the past 30 minutes and havent come up with an answer so i thought i'd post and see what you guys thought.

When I'm looking at photos in my Library, I'd like to be able to sort them in terms of size.
A photo of 50 k is only of marginal interest for limited upload only. A photo of 15 mg is of great interest. The size tells me that it's at least moderately hi res and that there are probably a lot of pixels involved, and a good print can be made for publication or whatever. But I can't see a way to sort by image size. Is there a way? I'd like to separate a photo with a size of 720 X 480 from a photo with a size of 100 X 75.
I looked at most of the editing software out there and they all seem to have the same type of format. The only thing I see different is more bells and whistles such as tools (that you probably will never use) and more plugins and the cost.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhenever I edit (a copy) of an image in Photoshop CS6 from Lightroom 4.3 (Photo/Edit-In), after I save and close the image in CS6 the new psd image does not show in Lightroom. In order to see the image in Lightroom, I need to close Lightroom and then reopen Lightroom. It is almost like Lightroom needs to "refresh". Any solution that does not require me to close Lightroom? I have tried to use View/Sort by extension, filename, edit time, etc. with no effect.

A digi image, cropped (crop tool), resized (resample), and saved (save as). Everything on 'default' (usual settings for this) or as I would like. Close and re-open, the image shows as the cropped image, but the thumbnail is the original.
I bought a new camera card today, having run out of settings to try. Took a pic, copied over, and it cropped and saved fine. So I went back to those taken yesterday, still full image thumbnail. Took new ones on new card, but full image thumbnails. Recropped the original photo that saved earlier today with cropped thumbnail - the full image is now in its thumbnail.

View 3 Replies View RelatedJust as a pre-amble, I love LR and perform 90% of image processing with it (rest in PS). I use a Canon EOS 5D MKIII shooting in RAW, running LR5 on Win7. My monitor is properly calibrated.
Every so often I view a RAW image with Canon DPP mostly to display the AF point. What I am noticing is that the DPP SW renders the image very different from LR and I tried every LR Profile. In my opinion the DPP rendering is sharper, with less noise and a more natural look. My latest example of the difference in image rendering is from images taken with the Canon 200-400 1.4 zoom lens. This difference in image rendering is after RAW import with no images editing on either application. I just wish there would be a LR profile that yields a similar quality image.
Till X3 Photo-Paint opened and saved transparent PNGs as a seperate image with attached mask.Example:I have an image and load a B/W mask into it.
When I save this as PNG and reload it in X3, Photo-Paint displays again exactly what I have just saved:
However when I open this same PNG in X6, the image and mask get merged into a single object:
It's in effect doing automatically a "create object from selection" function and discards then the background. Why? I can't work with the full background image anymore, because the transparent parts are missing, and the mask is also gone. Is there no way to open the full PNG, without any merging and deleting of masks, just the way X3 was doing it?Also, the only way to save a transparent PNG in X6 is to check "save only selected objects"? When I don't check this, but still check "transparency" in the PNG export dialogue, then the mask won't be saved nonetheless.
Trying to edit and save this file fails silently, because Photo-PAINT does get confused by a file name like this: "filename.morename.extension". Nothing gets saved.
The actual file name taken from my example file is: "Flag_of_Germany.svg.png".

As a photojournalist I upload my pictures to news agencies, using captions and keywords to add information to the files. While captions work fine, the keyword formation of Lightroom puts me in trouble, when I export the files to upload them to the agencies.
I would need the keywords to be separated by commas, like here:
Germany, Berlin, Angela Merkel, Politics
Unfortunately, when I export the images, Lightroom writes them without separation-commas (only puts the keywords in separate lines), like this:
Germany
Berlin
Angela Merkel
Politics
