Took photo over skype. Other computer involved was a mobile phone. Photo very tiny. When try to enlarge, it blurs and pixilates. Any suggestions as to how to enlarge and have a decent photo. I am using Gimp 2.6.Attached File

Took a photo over skype. It was very tiny, I suppose because the person I did Skype with was using and Iphone. I would like to enlarge it but it gets fuzzy and pixelates.

View 5 Replies View RelatedJust a question about scaling and pixelation. I've been doing some 3D models in ZBrush at a 960x960 size, and wanting to scale them down to 48x48 size, very small icons for a game engine.
Anyway I started doing this with just normal scale in GIMP, but the picture just turned out like a big blur. With further investigation I found GIMP add-ons, Liquid Scale and Step Scale (I think that was it's name) where you can step down the scale of the picture and sharpen it during step downs etc.
Still not having much luck, I can get it to look better, but not good, still very pixelated and blurry. The required result I want is something along these lines - Picture
Using high res picture, I've tried PNG, GIF, PSD with not really much luck.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to use content-Aware fill to enlarge a photo into different aspect frame. The subject is in pool, surrounded by a large area of water. I've put the image in to the larger aspect ratio canvas, with a green solid background behind it, then merged those two layers together as one. I selected all the green and delted using content-aware fill. It did a pretty good job but it's also recreating some of the subject.

I am a new Gimp user and have just started working on my first project with this application. Unfortunately, I ran into a roadblock almost immediately. I am unable to make text any larger than 30 PX. I can enter larger sizes than this in the Text Tool window, but any value greater than 30 has no effect. It doesn't matter whether I am trying to change existing text or am setting up the Text Tool for entering some new text. Selecting different units for the text size makes no difference in the maximum text size.

View 1 Replies View RelatedIm trying to tear a dollar bill in half...I know how to do this and accomplished it with ease in gimp but theres one problem.
When I split the dollar bill, and I move each piece upward, the bottom corner of the dollar bill hides behind something...I think its the actual picture perimeter.. I hope this makes sense...basically the dollar bill is to large..when I move each piece of the dollar bill, the corners of the dollar behind fall behind the frame I guess or the perimieter of the picture. I tried resizing the layer but that didn't seem to work. Is there some way to enlarge the space where the object sits. I tried scaling and it doesnt make a difference either..
I have an image that is quite small, cropped from a larger image. I want to enlarge it to 317 mm wide keeping it in proportion.
Using the scaling tool I changed to mm and increased width to 317mm this leaves me with a 'window' into the top corner of the image.
I then used 'fit canvas to layers' and the canvas increases in size ok but it is empty (little grey squares) except for the top corner showing the small window into the image!
If I click on it with the resize tool I can see the whole image enlarged but as soon as i click on the 'scale' button it vanishes again and leaves the small window again?
I want to enlarge a small photograph with the zoomtool.And when I try to save it on the desired percentage of 100% or so it returns back to it's original size ;After I have saved it as a new copy (image) with a new name.I have tried all the possibilities to save it within the larger size. Even by printer. Everything was in vain.But once it is transferred to the documents files it goes back to the original size.

The preview looks normal, (you know when you hover your mouse you see the preview size) but then when I actually click the mouse, the result is super tiny - I couldn't even see them at first. And no, I'm not using a super-sized document - just same size I always use. Seems to be with all my brushes.

It could be the biggest image in the universe and it shows up so small to where I have to use Free Transform every single time. Even the eraser is so small that I can't see it. I recently got a new Retina MacBook Pro, and upgraded to CS6. But all my files are opening teeny tiny, at .05%. How can I get them to open at a reasonable size, like 16.7%? These are large comic art files, so I don't need them to open at full size.

I think it could be the paper size I am selecting- I dont really understand the difference between the ISO full bleed- expand ect..
