Paint Shop Pro :: Disable Auto Photo Downloader?
Jul 6, 2011Every time I insert a USB stick or CD or DVD which contains image files I get a popup window asking me if I want to download those files.
I know that I can disable this annoying window by running MSCONFIG and then selecting STARTUP and then unselecting CorelIOMonitor and Corel Photo Downloader but is there another way of disabling it (as I really prefer not to change STARTUP.

Sep 25, 2012Has a fix become available for the 'advanced dialog box' option in PSE 9? My partner has just changed his laptop and now realises that PSE 9 won't give him the option of pre-selecting photos, due to the smaller screen. The laptop won't display at 800 res. The height of the screen is too small. He's annoyed because this problem will affect all users of PSE 9 who get a new laptop with a smaller height screen, which is most new laptops!! It ran perfect on the old Sony Vaio..... till the graphics card went seriously dead! Has this problem been resolved with PSE 10 or 11? If so, it might be worth upgrading to one of those.

May 16, 2013I've got a legal copy of Lightroom, downloaded & installed Air, downloaded and installed Adobe Lens Profile Downloader, got 2 Adobe accounts but cannot get either account to log in using the Adobe Lens Profile Downloader, so I cannot even start to download lens profiles.
Is there a place or way to download the profiles without using Adobe Lens Profile Downloader? if I go to photoshop.com as indicated in Adobe Lens Profile Downloader, neither account logs me in even though Ive reset both passwords from photoshop.com, but both log me in on adobe.

Apr 30, 2009I have CS4 installed in Vista 64.The Adobe Photo Downloader is not listed in the Autoplay options when a memory card is inserted in the computer card reader.How do I get this to work properly? The Adobe Photodownloader is not listed as an option in the Control Panel/Autoplay control.

Jun 27, 2013When downloading photos off a SD card, Photo Downloader will occasionally hang. Doesn't happen all the time. I need to go to Activity Monitor and Force Quit the Photo Downloader, which is showing the status Not Responding.
Photoshop Elements Organizer then hangs and I have to shoot this process as well. Also showing Not Responding. Restart Photoshop Elements Organizer and can see the photos that have been imported.

I recently purchased a camera the does up to 10 fps and the Downloader does not seems to have resolution to sort the micro-second or even second. I batch download the images and also do a rename of the files in this format yyyymmdd-###. I am finding my action sequences are all out of order. What I really just need the Downloader to do is sort by sequential camera number just like it comes out of the camera. Then all the images would be renamed in the right order. I tried modifying the XML settings file but that was no success.

Sep 4, 2011I just installed PSP X2 Ultimate and after first memory card use, I unchecked Photo Down loader so it won't run when I start the computer. Now when I "manually" move files from my memory card (SD) to my hard drive, I am Not able to delete those file on the memory card. Nor can I simply Move the files to my hard drive.
I had no problems before installing PSP. Now to remove the files I have to reformat the card(s) each time.
Seems like Photo Down loader put some hooks in the OS to operate and didn't remove them when I disabled it.

But the adobe bridge which is present with in photoshop, "Help"->"update" option is not greyed out and thows error "unable to update, you do not have internet connection or you are not an system administrator". Same is the case with AAMEE configuration. But if I delete this preference file, then I can launch it. Here my requirement is to grey our the update option both in photoshop and bridge as this will be deployed enterprise wide.

"Snap to" doesn't seem to be able to be shut off. When I hold down the control key snap ceases, but with any normal movement, even with both GUIDES and GRID unchecked... the system is still snapping to some setting somewhere, and I can't seem to turn it off.

BUT during this time I got a popup during the launch of Photoshop CS6 asking if I wanted to 'automatically send information to Adobe for product improvement' or something like that.
If I clicked "No" the top menu bar would appear, but every single option was greyed out. The program just sat there, useless. So, out of desperation (to continue my troubleshooting) I clicked "Yes". The program worked. How can I turn this off?

The question is, "Is it possible to completely disable re-scaling image on the import?"
It seems like it has only 2 options, "Fit to project" and "Keep aspect ratio".
What I want is something "Keep source resolution" because when I put an image of a map, which is 2 or 3 times larger than the project resolution, the image become completely useless due to the re-scaling.
Now, again, is there way to ditch this re-scaling?

May 7, 2013uninstalled all my Nikon viewing etc software and it cleared up. Haven't changed anything since then, but it just started doing it again. Photo looks normal in Adobe camera raw, but when opened from there into CS6 it becomes highly color banded and cartoonish looking. On some pictures it's only happening in the brighter, highlight areas, in others the whole picture is affected. I'm using a high end Alienware computer and didn't have any issues for about the first year, my graphics card drivers are up to date, will check on monitor drivers next I guess.

May 27, 2008My question is, whether Photo Deluxe can be run only with admin privileges or as standard user, too.
A customer of ours uses this program and cannot start it without admin privileges. If logged in as standard user the pd4.exe just doesn't react in any way. No failure, nothing. Executing right is set, so it should work.
