An annoying frame with interrupted lines periodically appears around my photo and goes away when I go to View/Extra and click on it. I can't figure out what causes it to happen--Also, I would like to permanently disable it. Photoshop CS6, Mac OS OS 10.7.3
View 3 RepliesA designer sent me some great logos. But she left grid lines on. I can get rid of them temporary (hide extras), but not permanently. Tomorrow and a year from now, when I open the file, the annoying grids are back. I'm out of ideas. I'd really like to open these files and not see the grid lines.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm having issues with LogTransport program that keeps on creating handles on folders or files that I open/manipulate with Photoshop CS6 (x64).
When I close photoshop, this program is still running and it still has handles open on those folders etc, so I can't delete the folders or files.
Can I permanently disable this program from runnign? I personally don't need it anyways so it's just another annoying crapware that I never intended to install with PS and that keeps making problems. I can't imagine general users dealing with this all the time.
I work on lots of images and sometimes when I get them they new feature 'layer filtering' is set to on, and sometimes it's off. I want it to always be off but can't find out if that's possible. I continually have to disable it manually when it hides layers I need and it's getting frustrating.

I am unhappy with the results and want to remove the watermark. Despite not saving my watermarked photos, I see the watermark. Is there a way to preview the watermark before anything gets permanent? Is there a way to remove the watermarks on all the photos and start all over?

I have downloaded and clicked and dragged the frame to my image, but I would like to reuse this frame. Is it possible to add it to the menu? I can download it to the menu - but it is a temporary item in the list of views to the right, which can be replaced from any of the permanent members of the dropdown selection of frames on the left of the Frame menu. I would like a frame to become one of those "permanent frames."

I know that I can disable this annoying window by running MSCONFIG and then selecting STARTUP and then unselecting CorelIOMonitor and Corel Photo Downloader but is there another way of disabling it (as I really prefer not to change STARTUP.
I have just bought Ultimate X6 and encountered serious problem already.
The question is, "Is it possible to completely disable re-scaling image on the import?"
It seems like it has only 2 options, "Fit to project" and "Keep aspect ratio".
What I want is something "Keep source resolution" because when I put an image of a map, which is 2 or 3 times larger than the project resolution, the image become completely useless due to the re-scaling.
Now, again, is there way to ditch this re-scaling?

I'm having problems creating and recording a suitable photoshop action that would work for any picture dimension and that won't resize the top rounded corners.
I have a new digital photo frame that displays images at 480 X 234. Is there any easy technique in Photoshop to crop images to this size (or close), without manually drawing a rectangular marquee and trying to guess at it's size? Is there any way to draw a 480 X 234 pixel rectangle and then position it over the photo, then crop to the rectangle? Any suggestions would be appreciated, since I have about 500 pictures that I want to put on a memory card for Christmas.

I have used photoshop Elements for years for scrapbooking, but as just starting to use premier Elements. my first project will be using a lot of very old family portraits and put on a DVD. can I put a frame around a photo in premier elements and can i use background papers like I do in elements. I'd like for the 'frame' to make the footage look like a 1920's photo that is damaged around the edges. I want to give the audience the impression they are looking at an old photo that has an animated video in it.
I've exported a few samples as a test. The center was transparent upon export, yet became white when I re-opened the image. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. The background setting was selected as 'transparent'.
I'm trying to use content-Aware fill to enlarge a photo into different aspect frame. The subject is in pool, surrounded by a large area of water. I've put the image in to the larger aspect ratio canvas, with a green solid background behind it, then merged those two layers together as one. I selected all the green and delted using content-aware fill. It did a pretty good job but it's also recreating some of the subject.
Is there a way that I can specify the area that it chooses from, ie the water?
On my website, especially when pictures are side by side, I try to make all the same, i.e. square. To me it looks better. I have a picture that is rectangle and obviously cannot resize to a square - distorts the picture. I know there is a way to copy the rectangle picture into a square picture frame which allows the picture to be square while not distorting the rectangle size.
But I don't know how to do this. I have watched a video on this but still not clear how to do it.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm using CS5, and for some unknown reason a few weeks ago a line started appearing around elements in my photoshop files - whenever I click on any layer in a .ps document, the perimeter of that layer is outlined. I figured out that I can type Command+H to make it disappear, but it only happens for that moment. The next moment when I click on another layer, the outline appears again, and it keeps appearing for any layer I clicked on (including the one I had just previously high Command+H for).

A friend of mine installed "live update" on my pc with the result that every time I opened Photoshop, it would check for new updates on the web. I meanwhile rid myself of that program, but am now stuck with this: Every time I open a new file, it comes with a blue dotted line around it and two little symbols in the upper left. I can make it disappear by unclicking "View Extras" or using keyboard shortcut ctrl-H but as soon as I open another image, it's back and it's driving me nuts! I am using Version 7.0 and I assume it came with an update because it didn't happen in the beginning. I've looked through the "preferences" menu and checked Photoshop Help without any results. how to make this dissapear?

Ive right clicked on the said pics and normally with elements9 it would give me a number of places to which i could sent the chosen frame. But after purchasing elements 11 I am not getting the option to send them anywhere.
