View 11 Replies View RelatedI'm using CS5, and for some unknown reason a few weeks ago a line started appearing around elements in my photoshop files - whenever I click on any layer in a .ps document, the perimeter of that layer is outlined. I figured out that I can type Command+H to make it disappear, but it only happens for that moment. The next moment when I click on another layer, the outline appears again, and it keeps appearing for any layer I clicked on (including the one I had just previously high Command+H for).
View 1 Replies View Relatedif there are any packs out for like photoshop extras, for extra filters or something? Cause my girlfriends says her school uses 8.0, same as her version, but there more options under filter>digimarc. My 9.0 only has the two watermark options so I'm wondering whats up.
View 1 Replies View RelatedEverytime I open PS and a picture 'Extras' is enabled (view).
I must press CTRL + H to remove this everytime.
How can I make this NOT on default?
A friend of mine installed "live update" on my pc with the result that every time I opened Photoshop, it would check for new updates on the web. I meanwhile rid myself of that program, but am now stuck with this: Every time I open a new file, it comes with a blue dotted line around it and two little symbols in the upper left. I can make it disappear by unclicking "View Extras" or using keyboard shortcut ctrl-H but as soon as I open another image, it's back and it's driving me nuts! I am using Version 7.0 and I assume it came with an update because it didn't happen in the beginning. I've looked through the "preferences" menu and checked Photoshop Help without any results. how to make this dissapear?
View 3 Replies View RelatedA designer sent me some great logos. But she left grid lines on. I can get rid of them temporary (hide extras), but not permanently. Tomorrow and a year from now, when I open the file, the annoying grids are back. I'm out of ideas. I'd really like to open these files and not see the grid lines.
View 3 Replies View RelatedThe first of probably many CS3 issue:
Extras: can't get them off. (lines -- guides)
I turn off, quit Ps, but they return on relaunch.
After 3 years of use without doing it before, CS5 just started to add and leave a bounding box on items once I select them. How do I stop this? Of course I tried the simple fixes, but they do not stop the box from staying visible.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI hit something on my keyboard and now my photoshop 7.0 version is continually "showing extras" which is under the View column on the top. a.k.a ctrl + h
I do not want it on there, and I want to know where in Photoshop I can alter this and save my settings, so that it will remember it the next time I open photoshop???
Another thing its as if the memory is completely off because PS is not remembering the last custom size I chose for a new PSD file, meaning I'll do 400 x 400 or whatever, and then 10 minutes later I'll need a new file open it up and if I want 400 x 400 again it makes me re-enter it.
I did something when using the grid and now Extras defauls on with each image load. I have to do a CTR H after loading a new image to turn it off. Anyone know how I can set it back to default off.
View 2 Replies View RelatedCS5 EXtended / WIN7. I have two issues.
(1) Every time I open up a new project, I have been getting grid lines that pop up, then I have to go to VIEW, and unclick EXTRAS, or Control-H...EVERY time, which gets annoying. How can I Stop this from happening?
(2) another problem is even though my SHOW TRANSITION CONTROLS are clicked Enabled, they don't show up when I want to use them, SO NOW, I now have to click Control-T...How did that happened?
An annoying frame with interrupted lines periodically appears around my photo and goes away when I go to View/Extra and click on it. I can't figure out what causes it to happen--Also, I would like to permanently disable it. Photoshop CS6, Mac OS OS 10.7.3
View 3 Replies View RelatedI know a while back, Photoshop was offering to save my files as JPEGs as default. But now it defaults to saving as a PSD file, and I am having some difficulty figuring out how to make it save as a JPG file instead.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI was wondering how can we change the default setting of PS.
If you go to "Blending Options" in PS and click on "Outer Glow/Inner Glow/Drop Shadow/....etc" You will see that these options have already some colors as default, means Drop shadow has black color as default and inner glow and outer glow has yellow as default.
I wanted to change these default colors to something else. Like I want to change the YELLOW color of outer and inner glow to WHITE color. Is it possible?
How do I change the default name of new adjustment layers?
How can I make it so that adjustment layers don't come with a mask when I create them (unless I have a selection active)?
Why isn't the Shadows/Highlights functionality an adjustment layer? It's accessable under "adjustments" but you can't use it non-destructive
Where can I find documentation on Photoshop's API? (I want o make tools for it - javascript)
When I double click on a photo in Bridge CC to open it in Photoshop CC for processing, I get an error message. "Windows cannot find 'C:program filesadobeadobePhotoshop CS4 (64 bit)Photoshop.exe." Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again."
I then tried File>Open in and discovered that "Photoshop" is the default instead of Adobe Photoshop CC as the default. I can't find anything in Edit>Preferences that enables me to correct the problem.
CS4 was uninstalled years ago when I upgraded to CS5. CS5 has also been uninstalled.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI need to open a PDF file that has multiple pages. On "FileOpen" it comes up with Import PDF. There are 21 pages. I know how to highlight all the pages so they all load at once. Do to the volume of work this is impractical. Control+A will not work for this.
1. Is there a way to have "Open" select all, no matter on the number, pages into Photoshop 13.122. On "Save As" it defaults to ".psd". I want it to default to ".jpg". I'm doing several hundred plus.3. Also do not want it to ask me if “OK”, just do the save.
All I want to do is bring in the "PDF's" and brake the multiple files to a singe page ".jpg" or "PNG" file and rename the file just before the save.
I was trying to load in some tool presets for my pen tool in Photoshop. Upon doing so I noted that clicking on "Load Tool Presets..." or alternatively any of the quick jump links i.e. art history, pencil brushes, etc... Photoshop would load absolutely nothing.
Upon looking to see where Photoshop was looking for these tool presets I noticed that it was looking here:
"C:Users*********AppDataRoamingAdobeAdobe Photoshop CS6PresetsTools" instead of looking here: E:AdobeAdobe Photoshop CS6 (64 Bit)PresetsTools --- which is where the presets are actually located.
Is there any way to change where Photoshop looks by default? How did it get set to the incorrect location in the first place.
When I click on File, Open in CS2 (it came with the computer) Pictures is always the Library that opens. Can this be changed? I have created a Library called Photography. That is where I download and store my photographs and where I work on them.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have Windows 7 64 pro installed. Tried the CC on Windows 8 64bit pro and they didn't play well together. Windows 7 seems to work fine. Good enough. So, I have the 64 bit version of PS CC pinned to the taskbar. When I click on it, it opens right up. Then if I go to Lightroom 5 and open a file, it opens right up in Photoshop CC 64 bit. However, if PS is not open and I open a file from lightroom, Photoshop CC 32bit opens. Not what I want.
Ok, so you say go the defaults menu and change the default opening program? Doesn't work. Switches right back to CC 32bit.
Once I installed the beta of Photoshop 6, Lightroom 4 will not allow me to edit in Photoshop 5. Photoshop 6 is the default and I can't figure out how to change that.
I can, of course, uninstall the beta and the default should go back to the other installed version. But there's got to be a preference file or something similar in application support that gives the path of Photoshop to Lightroom.

The default resolution when I open a photo, is set on 72 pixels per inch. This produces a photo with not a lot of detail. I have read somewhere that it is better to work on 300 dpi.
Is this correct?
And if so, how do I change the default setting?
Or do most of you work on the 72 dpi- it is just that the image that you see in preview, does not look the same once finished.
I bought X2 Ultimate when it was available and X3 ultimate as well. When X4 was released, I purchased the normal version.
Is it possible to use some of the extras from X2 ultimate and X3 ultimate under X4? I try installing looks pro and it tells me that I don't have paintshop pro installed.
