View 1 Replies View RelatedOccasionally Photoshop will crash or I have to force close Photoshop. When this happens the settings within Photoshop reset back to the default settings. This is a pain as I must then go back and reset everything again. This has been happening since CS5 and also happens in CS6.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm running 64bit CS6 and have 24GB of ram. GTX 660ti. This shouldnt be a problem and has not been. My psd which is almost 500MB usually takes 30-60 seconds to open and once i am in it works fine. It just took me a good 5-10 minutes to open the psd. The efficiency is at 19%* and i dont know what that asterisk means. I allocated 22GB of ram to it, 8 cache levels and such and it's still being really slow. Should I try reinstalling? This is very cumborsome and would like to fix this problem asap.
this also happened randomly. The program wasn't even closed. My brushes reset, too. I even tried rebooting, and nothing.also, photoshop now uses up to like 20gb of my ram automically without any files open in the program. Before it was about 6-9gb.
My 3D camera view is acting kooky when I go into 3D mode. It's like I'm underneath the text looking up at it, and no matter what settings I mess with I can not get the view that I want. Yes I have went to all the little drop down window and clicked on default view and I still get this same underneath view. Is their a way to reset ALL default settings in PS Cs6.

We're putting Paint.NET on some public computers. Is there an easy way to reset the program back to the default settings? I'm aware of the "Reset Windows Locations" option. I'm looking for a way to reset everything else back to the "out-of-the-box" settings/configuration when Paint.NET is installed.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI recently installed Lightroom 4.3 on my computer and made an error in setting my defaults. Then I made some corrections using Windows Explorer, now when I try to start program I get message "Lightroom encountered an error when reading previous cache and needs to quit". "Lightroom will attempt to fix this problem next time it launches".
The only option available is to quit Lightroom. After attempting to restart Lightroom several times including a reboot I get the same message.
Do I need to uninstall lightroom and then reinstall or is there a way to delete the catalog and start over.? I can't run lightroom to make any changes unless there is a way to bypass the quit option.
For whatever reason, everything reset back to default in my application settings. The only thing I remember happening was that at one point my Inventor was not able to establish a connection to the server where the liscence is stored and it gave out an error message. Ever since then, everything was reverted to default.
how to change the look of the highlights in the assembly environment when selecting parts? I can't remember where it's at.

When using AdMigrator.exe /reset [see here] you can create a ZIP file with a backup of the user settings. Are there any instructions to restore the user settings from the ZIP file?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am using Paint Shop Pro X6. I am an experienced Paint Shop user. Today, I must have done something strange, because now when I use the clone tool, instead of getting what normally occurs, the cloned area consists only of large dots--similar to what a half-tone photograph looks like under high magnification. The dots are the proper color.
Is there a way to reset Paint Shop Pro to default settings as the software existed when it was installed? That might solve my problem.
We have a big issue where half our users can't open autocad. We have half running 2013 and half running 2006. For our 2013 users we've gone to our start menu and reset settings to default. and then just re-loaded our custom menus. How can I reset Autocad 2006 to default if I can't open Autocad?
We need to get people up and running.
I am working on someone elses computer and the Software settings are different. The old owner does not use this computer anymore. The swatches are set and I would like it to function how it usually does, etc. I mean, even the transparent swatch on the tool bar is not there anymore, so when I use the pen path tool, I get these white and black fills which makes it difficult for me to see the path I am meant to be following.
How do I reset Photoshop so that I can customise it the way I want it? Reinstalling the softwares is not an option.
I would like to reset Illustrator, Indesign, Dreamweaver, etc.
i'm in action schematic and if i reset any node (for example images/surface) then some parameter is still not affected. For example : the blend type and surface type and couple more are not affected by that reset function. Is this a bug ?
View 3 Replies View RelatedAfter slicing an image, choosing Save For Web, and then choosing one of the jpg presets from the drop down list, then clicking on Save, it shows me in the next "Save Optimized As" window that the Save As Type file type is gif - and there is no jpg on the list that I can choose. Why is my ability to save as jpg slices gone? I've not made any changes to the default settings and I'm not sure how to get it back... I'm only moderately skilled at Photoshop (skilled enough to create my web site mockups and slice and so on...) but if someone could point me in the right direction, or to a tutorial for this process that would be great. Am using Photoshop CS (version 8 or 9?)
On this same note, I have noticed that often the slices (when they worked before) will have weird names such as Layout_12-13 or some such "overlapping" of slice numbers although, from what I can tell the slices do not actually overlap... what is THIS all about?
I am using an sRGB workflow as my output is for the web. I am using a NEC 2690 LCD display which is wide colour gamut but I am using in its factory set sRGB (and non-calibratable) mode. I have calibrated the NEC using my Eye One display and this shows as the default monitor profile in the vga card's driver but what effect it is actually having I am not sure (OS is Vista 32bit). My CS4 colour management settings are based round the sRGB Working Space. Normally I convert to sRGB all images before saving them in Save for Web.
I am trying to ensure that the colours I see in images at the Save for Web stage preview are what I will see on the web and in other non colour managed environments. I am trying to achieve:
Preset: JPEG High
Quality: High
Optimize selected (but not Progressive or Embed Colour Profile)
Convert to sRGB selected
Preview: Use Document Profile
In the past (pre-CS4) I've had problems with images outside of CS3 looking over colour saturated and I want to avoid this now.
I need to compress about 1,000 jpg images and I'm using the "save for web" feature in Photoshop 7 but I'm running into problems because my file names are very long and its cutting them off. I found the workaround by editing the output settings and unchecking the "Mac OS" box under "Filename Compatibility".
However, the problem is that the default settings do not stay like this once I hit OK and I end up having to uncheck the Mac OS box for each and every file. Is there a way to permanently change the default settings so I can do batch processing for all my images?
I'm working with CS5 now and I mentioned the following terrible fact: When I open a vector EPS in CS5 raster settings are always CMYK and 72dpi. I know very well that CS2 remembers my first type in of settings (e.g. grayscale and 300dpi) and use it also for upcoming EPS files during a session. CS5 settings are CMYK and 72dpi always... each EPS.
View 4 Replies View RelatedThe only settings I get in "Save for Web / Devices" are "Unnamed" and "-----".
Where would these preferences have disappeared to? I don't recall ever seeing the standard options ever since installing the CS3 Master Collection. ImageReady and Photoshop CS3 usually have a few JPG, GIF and PNG options.
Could I download the original settings file somewhere, without reinstalling anything?
I wonder how i can save the import settings in photo down loader to always have same settings when extracting images? It always adjust it self back to default and i need to find my location again.
Also. When working in CS5, and i want to apply e.g sharpening i go to filters and the slide appears, moving down to sharpen the new "window" appears on the left side and not the right.
I have tried the control/alt trick and it never stays- still defaults to a .gif setting. I want the default setting to be .jpg.
View 1 Replies View Relatedway to simplify the "save as" procedure. I found annoying to have to select say, PNG, from a long list... Gimp remembers the last filter (... reuse sharpen?) but not the last file format and folder?
