Nov 19, 2013May I import a photo from My Documents into Photoshop to resize it?

View 6 RepliesIn previous versions I have been able to resize the canvas and then resize the image. For example resize the canvas to 250px x 250 px. Then resize the image to the same.
Here is the process I am using:
Duplicate the layer and then hide it. Resize the canvas (Image > Canvas Size) to 250px x 250 px. Un-hide the layer and then resize the image (Image > Image Size). When I go into Image>Image Size it says that the image is already 250px x 250px. However if I try to transform the scale the image is the original size and not 250px x 250px
The reason for needing this is I resize image size (in bulk) and the canvas size using the batch process (file>automate>batch) and actions. I loaded the actions file I used in previous versions, but that did not work correctly. I then went in to do this manually and got the same results.
I want to know how to resize a photo without loosing quality....... in the image resize box the is a check box that says maintain file size ......what does that do .
I have tried to resize using it and the file stays the same as the original.
Can i import an image (such as a photo of a plant) into autocad and print it in colour? I can currently print the image but without colour.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI want to print multiple documents with a duplex printer, so I need to set the order in which the documents are sent to the printer. In the Print dialog box, when I select "Documents" in the "Print range", I can select the documents to print, but I cannot set the order in which they're printed. I appears that the order is in reverse alphabetical (how logical!). As far as I can tell, the only way to determine the order is to rename the files (using Save As). Interestingly, if I "Save As" a pdf or "Publish to PDF", the documents are in the order in which they were loaded or created.
If you're going to offer the ability to print or export multiple documents as a single file, it seems that there should be some way to order the documents first.
My photo that I uploaded to the slider in my website is 11.69 MB. It needs to be either 456.64 KB or close to it.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a photo in PE Organizer/Editor which according to the document size it is 6.6667 inches x 8.917 inches. I know to select image from the menu but not sure whether to select image size or canvas size?
I select Print, choose the print settings, print size 4 x 6 inches, image only - don't want a border, then this message appears: the following images will be rendered at less than 220 dpi at the requested size.
This can't be done in PE and I have to use crop to resize. I surprised that PE cannot resize to inches.
I searched further and found a video on Youtube that demonstrated that PE will resize to inches. The steps in the video were:
1. Select resize, image.
2. Document size:
Enter 6 for width, 4 for height and 300 for resolution (for printing)
Check Scale Styles, Constrains proportions, Resample image, Bicubic
3. The pixel dimensions automatically changed to 1800 width and 1200 for height.
In the video the above steps worked. In my PE, I followed the same steps but the Document size for width changed to 2.99 after I had entered 6 and the Pixel size for width changed to 897.
First, PE change resize to inches but for some reason my PE 11 changes the width after entering 6.
how do I make a picture smaller w/o making the document smaller. I just have a large photo to put on a flyer so it needs to be a lot smaller than it already is... I know to go to image and resize and change the size but it always makes the document smaller.
View 1 Replies View RelatedHow can I resize a photo in Elements 12, using the squares around the picture? I want to change the shape of the photo - in my old version, when I changed the size/shape, it would cut off part of the picture (which is what I want in order to get the size I want), whereas in Elements 12 it is just stretching and distorting the photo.
I am using this for a "scrapbook" photo page, where there are multiple photos and text on the page.
How do I resize a photo using pixels as a unit in Elements 12? I do not wish to print it, just to resize to the size it will be viewed online.I have "upgraded" from Elements 8 where this was no problem but I cannot find the option in Elements 12.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am having trouble with Image/Resize/Image Size in PSE7. In the past I had a document size of 4x6. When I wanted to reduce the # of pixels, I just entered new #s and the document size remained the same. A couple days ago I changed both the document size and canvas size. I cannot get my old settings back. I even uninstalled and reinstalled the program, I also have PSE11 on a trial basis and it also only sees the changed settings. I've tried changing Scale Styles, Constrain Proportions & Resample Image, in addition to changing the Canvas Size but cannot get it to work like it did before I changed the settings.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have completed a project and I need to verify that, based on what I implemented, image should be resized but quality of image (both JPEG and GIF) should not be reduced.
My question is it possible to verify the result using photoshop or some other tools? How?
My college said it is hard to check if an image looks different because of image resizing or because of quality loss or because of both. He said I have to create some log files to trace the result. It is a little too much work for me.
I want to resize a photo within LR so the resulting file size is reduced? Is the only way to create an Export Preset?

I want to import a photo, trace geometric shapes over the photo like circles and lines, and then remove the photo. I have a very basic understanding of LAYERS. I have viewed a few tutorials. But I don't know how to import a photo or how to get rid of it once I have drawn the geometric shapes over it.
I want to create a flat image of the tattoo around my wrist. It seems as soon as i place a photo in Photoshop I cant do anything like that with it. I tried using different layers to place the different photos in, but when I crop one, it crops the entire image.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am creating a photo book using LR 4.1 and BookSmart (so that I can design my own layouts which I can't do in the LR Book module). Everything is working fine except for resizing to fit BookSmart photo containers. In LR it appears that I can only resize to an aspect ratio and not to the actual pixels. For example, I have a custom size of 5.7 x 4, which LR crops to the aspect but retains a high pixel count (4798 x 3367 for example). The optimal size for the BookSmart container is 1710 x 1200 pixels. My understanding is the BookSmart downsamples the image to fit the pixel dimensions of its container. I have read that for best results you should have your photos in the optimal size to begin with, which avoids the downsampling. In LR I can't see any other way of doing this except in the Print module, which does not connect back to my collection in Publish Services. I am hoping to avoid having to edit each photo (over 400) in Photoshop just so that the size (dimensions and pixels) is optimal for the BookSmart photo containers. Am I missing something in LR that would allow me to set the size correctly for BookSmart?
View 8 Replies View RelatedSmart Photo Fix box was resizable, or barring that, if the box did not take up over 1/4 of my monitor!
This box obscures far too much of the image I am trying to correct! And it does not need to be this large based on its content!
When I resize or crop a photo, it would be nice to be able to keep all the original information in the exif tag. Instead the tag appears empty. Is it possible to maintain the original, possibly with additional info indicating post-process?
Or, just the original, indicating camera and lens, aperture and exposure?
I imported small (2.25 square) .
All was well untill I tried to print. Preview panel blank Photo in top corner at original size.in cell.
I have signed up for Adobe CC and now have Photoshop CS 6 for the Mac installed and running. When I come to use the image resize feature, I am still getting the same box as I had in CS5 instead of the new much improved feature.

But just how exactly do I resize an image in a layer? If I go Image > Resize Image...the whole image collection of all layers gets bigger...and I only want that specific layer image to get bigger...
