Photoshop :: Four-band/multispect
Mar 3, 2009
I work for an aerial photography/photogrammetry firm and we are looking for some solutions to working with four band images. Our plane-mounted digital mapping camera has 8 different cameras in it which fire simultaneously. Four cameras are panchromatic and are eliminated from our final image leaving us with a red, green, blue and near infrared camera. We run post processing to combine the RAW data into a 16 bit, four band tiff image.
The issue that we're facing is editing these four band images in photoshop. We use Photoshop CS, CS2 and CS3. The restrictions that were finding in editing four-band imagery are:
(a) Cannot change color, can change brightness/contrast, but not in the fourth band (alpha 1)
(b) Cannot expand the canvas to combine two adjacent images and edit without losing the alpha-1 channel (near-infrared)
(c) Cannot create layers (cannot copy/paste). This is a major problem as we often need to place a different image over a warped area of the photo and properly align it.
suggest a good workflow or available plug-ins that will enable to edit all four bands at one time?

I have another paint app where it will do a brush mode that is a rubber-band mode. So if there is a brush that's 25 pixels wide and you go and click once somewhere and then move the cursor... a straight line rubberband appears connected to your cursor. When you click again, the brush is painted in a straight line to where you clicked. It's great when you are trying to quickly paint a straight line to match something in the image. Does PS have a brush mode like this? (I know that drawing paths can be stroked in straight lines, etc. but I need a brush mode that is quickly switchable to as I am speed painting thousands of images and brushing is fastest for this work).

I have been trying all night to do this Photoshop piece and have failed. My vision is to take a Linkin Park band picture and add 2 additional people into them. These people have a stance that could blend in with the band for funsies. I was thinking the male stand at the front because his feet are partially cut off and the females stand in the back.

I'm part of a WW2 Living History group, and I want to fiddle with some of the photos we've taken to make them look better.
That pic was modified by Andrew from Thunder From Heaven, and I'd like to emulate his work. I must confess that I'm quite new to photoshop and photo editing in general.

Is there an easy way to get the geometric extents of a profile view and bands? It appears that in Civil 3D 2013 .NET the Geometric Extents returns the extents of the profile excluding the bands. I don't like the prospects of either doing the math for all of the bands assigned to the profile view or exploding the profile view to get it and the bands as a block and getting the extents that way. [URL]....

I have a band label set up for my cross sections that will show existing grade and finish grade elevations at the 0' offset mark of each section.
However, the band does not show when I create my sections. The only way I can seem to get it to show is by right clicking a section, section view properties, bands tab, click 'import band set' at bottom of window, and select they style i want to use. But I have to do this for each section individually. That is a problem as I have over 200 sections for one piece of this project.

I just spent 30 minutes describing in detail a problem I am having with PaintShop X5, and the connection timed out and I lost everything.
Since Corel stated pushing some upgrade notices to my PC about X6 I have been getting weird vertical noise bands on my images that had previously been fine.
This appears on RAW, and TIFF in the manage window and the edit window. JPEG images appear to be fine.
I have uploaded a file attachment after much bruh hah hah about image size in dimensions and number of bytes thta shows the problem.

I have an EG and FG data band for sections that works correctly. When i plot sections and it asks me specify surfaces 1 and 2, I choose my EG and FG surfaces appropriately. Then when the section displays the Section 1 and Section 2 are both set to the EG section of that specific sample line. If i change the section view properties manually it works but I'll have to do it individually for each section.
Also, is it necessary to create a FG surface from the corridor or can i get the data band to read from the corridor section itself?

Attached is a drawing with my profile along with elevations in the band.
UPPER BAND - has proposed road elevations on the left and existing road elevations on the right.
LOWER BAND - has pipe elevations on the left and the SAME existing road elevations on the right.
I've been messing around in the profile view properties but cannot hide the duplicate elevations in one of the bands.

In the Band Style_A pdf you can see the location of my elevation labels, they are below the bottom line of my profile view grid. In the Band Style_B pdf the labels are showing up in the proper location (above the bottom line of the profile view grid). To move the labels to the proper location I changed the "Gap" setting from 12.5 to -24. Is there a way to change this setting in my "style" rather than have to go make this change to the style every time I use it in a profile?

I'm trying to create a profile view band style to display a gradient as a fraction i.e 1/100 rather than a % I've tried creating an expression to do this ( see below) the sum works but I don't get a solution/answer just the sum displayed on the band.Basically the sum is length/change in elevation Â
for clarification / = divide
Expression
(<[Pipe Start Chainage(Um|FD|P3|RN|AP|GC|UN|Sn|OF)]> - <[Pipe End Chainage(Um|FD|P3|RN|AP|GC|UN|Sn|OF)]>) / (<[Start Invert Level(Um|P2|RN|AP|GC|UN|Sn|OF)]> - <[End Invert Level(Um|P2|RN|AP|GC|UN|Sn|OF)]>)

A coworker who is no longer with us set up the data band styles & settings in our template, and they were working fine in 2011. Â Then, on a new job in 2011, I encountered this problem. Â I gave up.
Now I'm working in 2013. Â The template was brought forwards, so it's the same settings, and I'm hitting the same problem as before. Â The difference is this time I'm working on a really long profile, and I really really want the bands to work.
Here's the problem.
The ones I checked in blue are not part of the data band. Â They are profile view labels, and they show the correct stations.
The ones circled in red are the data band. Â As you can see I need to work on my gap settings, but that's not my problem. Â The problem is the location of these labels. Â There is indeed a PVI at station 1+165, but the label is 40m away from that station! Â I don't know where to start digging to find the setting to tell that label to move 40m to the right, and tell 1+135.86 to move 20m to the right.

Is there a way to get the ProfileBandLabelGroup labels from a profile view. I see I can get the ProfileViewBandItems, but don't see a way to convert it into the labels. I'm looking to override the text components. The code below does that, it's just getting the object without having to have the user select it.
ProfileBandLabelGroup labels = ssResult.ObjectId.GetObject(OpenMode.ForWrite) as ProfileBandLabelGroup;
LabelStyleTextComponent textComponent = labels.GetAt(0).GetTextComponentIds()[0].GetObject(OpenMode.ForRead) as LabelStyleTextComponent;
Autodesk.Civil.DatabaseServices.LabelGroupSubEntity label = labels.GetAt(0);
label.SetTextComponentOverride(textComponent.ObjectId, "blue");

I've been working with Civil 3D for a while and I've gotten the Profile View and Data Bands down.Whenever we create an alignment with only two vertices (at each endpoint) and make the Northings, Eastings, and Elevations show in the data bands, the start and end show no data. (As below) Now I'm sure the data band is set up correctly because if I add a vertex somewhere along the alignment, all the missing data shows up.

I'm currently setting up a band set and want to include a band "pipe invert depth" i.e. basically trench depth.
There are properites in the band label style composer for "pipe invert level" and for "cover" and for "pipe diameter" but not pipe invert depth.Is there a way to display the pipe invert depth relative to the reference (design) surface/alignment?
A secondary question to this is can you use basic arithmetic in the band label style composer? eg pipe cover + pipe diameter?

I did a grading, created surface with it and draw a profile view. Everything seems to be good, except with the vertical geometry band. I need to fix slope and length only at break point, means PI (blue line), but aligment has  created more PI with each surface tringular line at intersection (us i note). Is there any why to specify PI only at a break points?
I can erase PI manually on static profile view mode, but i desire to do it in dynamic mode..., in case when conditions changes.

When I generate a band and the points that need to be labelled are very close to each other there is the possibility to stagger the labels (left, right, to both sides).
This works as I would expect it to.What I haven’t been able to determine is whether it is possible to adjust or influence the spacing between the staggered labels.

One drawing we have has a weird quirk. The rubber band line for the Distance command is black. The background of our AutoCAD is also black, which makes it very hard to see. This only seems to affect the Distance command as the rubber band for the Line command is grey (though the current layer is yellow).
I have confirmed this is limited to just one drawing, no matter what machine you open it on. The AutoCAD version we are using is Civil 3D 2011.
I have checked the following: DRAGMODE (auto), HIGHLIGHT (1), restored colors to default, made sure 3D views were not on, rendering off, UCS set to world.
Next step? Repairing the AutoCAD installation is not likely to fix the problem.
