Mar 5, 2014Is the trial version different? Mine looks nothing like the ones shown in the tutorials. I'm trying to find the curves tool and it's just not there.

Aug 18, 2009I have a question about the pen tool in Photoshop, I would like to make drawings as a simple colored dividing curves I found no simple way to achieve this, first found solution is to trace with Tool pen the desired shape (open form), then using the Layout panel, apply a color on edge, the problem with this method is that if you change the shape of the trace thereafter, the initial color persists mena sdoesn't move withe resized trace and it's embarrassing. the second found solution is to use a vector layer, but the problem is that traces are always closed(means closed shaps only) and the colored outline is applied on all around the shape , it works well with the closed form but not with the simple forms.

Feb 6, 2013Looking for a nice script that can search a complex design with lots of linework and find all coinciding duplicates and select them all and delete them but leave (1) good copy.
Basically when I use Outline Pathfinder in Adobe Illustrator, then bring back into corel, sometimes get a lot of redundant objects. I already set the settings in Adobe Illustrator to minimize that as much as possible.

May 31, 2012after using the crop tool in Photoshop CS6, the Presets and RGB channels options are greyed out on the curves adjustment layer, IF that layer's Properties are displaying at the time. I find I can get the options back if I open and close Curves Display Options.
I am running Windows 7 x64, AMD Radeon HD 5800 with latest drivers (same problem with older drivers).

Jan 17, 2013I have created a custom measurement tool to measure distances (captured from sattelite imagery, and using the distance key as the guide) and it works great. However, I would like to be able to use the same tool to measure curves/radiuses. Say for instance a mountain road. I know the scale of the photo, and can measure any straight (line) angle, but can I do the same for a curve or radius using the same scale?

Mar 4, 2013Having just entered the world of illustrator (cs6) I'm finding trying to get smooth curves to do what you want is a highly confusing operation.Being a fairly competant user of Photoshop the same task can be acheived relatively easily by way drawing paths with the pen tool and simply adding anchor points to drag out the desired shape.This buisness of dragging out handles in order to create curves in illustrator is crazy, I just can't seem to get the curves to behave how I want them to, I've watched probably 20 tutorials on this now and all demonstrate the same technique for creating curves, is there a more straight forward, simple way to achieve precise smooth curves similar to PS?

Feb 23, 2013I am preparing a batch of images for test submission, for a stock photo library.Recently a person working for one of the visual effects studios in London happened to tell me that these strict agencies use some set of layers that can separate tonality and color values to check for banding, dirtiness, noise and all those technical flaws that the human eye can't notice on a monitor.He said they perhaps have an action for it so that they can review faster.
He said that it is known as 'Craze Curves' or 'Visibility Curves' technique.He further added that all the studios use it before giving the final files to clients so that there is no issue in printing afterwards.It is sort of a quality control check and has been used by digital and advertising agencies all over the world.
But now his email seems to have changed and I can't get in touch with him to know how to use the technique.

Oct 10, 2013I don't need to put text on a curve but need to convert the text of my picture to curves by the company that is going to re-produce it. The require this so that the text won't get distorted if they don't have the same fonts that I am using.
Can I convert whole words or do I have to do a letter at a time? Can I get all the text on one layer and then convert the text on that layer to curves?
Illustrator :: Why Doesn't Stroke Width Tool Create Smooth Curves
Sep 30, 2013Am I the only one who has edited a stroke with the stroke width tool, then outlined the stroke only to find a countless number of points and noticeably unsmooth edges? Is there a setting or certain way to ensure that the stroke width tool won't corrupt the smoothness of my shapes? The stroke width tool is the most handy new feature I can imagine, but this problem makes it almost entirely useless, unless designing something where precision and smoothness are not important.

Jul 24, 2013In Illustrator CS6 and CC, when the stroke width tool is used on a curve, the curve is actually made up of a series of straight lines instead of smooth vector curves:
whereas in CS5 it looks perfect.These images may be too small to see the details, but the difference is there. Is there a workaround for this? Or is it recognized as a bug?

Jul 1, 2004I used to use a tool in PS 5.5 that I can't find in PS7. I believe you would select an area, then you could mirror that area onto a different part of the picture, and it even gave you a display window showing you the original area you selected. Does anyone know what this tool is called and where it's located in Photoshop 7?

Sep 6, 2012Yes, I know where the options to select the arrowheads are (ex: start/end, concavity...etc). But when I create my line, none of the arrowheads are displayed. Not sure what the problem is? Is there an option I may have inadvertently selected which may have turned these off? I am using in Windows Photoshop 5.5. I've used them on this desktop before, again - not sure what's going on here.
Also, is there an option to add arrowheads automagically to the Pen tool in photoshop?
