View 9 RepliesI just got PSE CS6 and the blur too will NOT work ....blur filters work, but not BLUR in the tools panel I have tried: unintstall/reinstall, updating, using it no a picture straight after opening it, duplicate layers, selecting an area and then blurring....flattening an image, every single different setting in the the blur tools menu bar NOTHING works. And everything I find about blur is the new blur filters....

View 19 Replies View RelatedI've been having this problem since the first Photoshop CS6 beta, across multiple different PCs. And the problem is this:
The new blur filters available in CS6 don't have any on-screen controls visible at all (the ones that let you adjust the position and strength and other parameters), like shown in the marketing videos and tutorials. I don't know if it's a Windows specific problem, but I've seen this problem on multiple PCs.
I was using my blur tool the other day and today it has vanished. How do I get it back in my tool bar? I am using CS4.
View 3 Replies View Relatedam using CS3, and am having trouble with the "Patch Tool" because whenever I select an area to be "Patched over" and drag that to the area I want to replace it, instead of just replacing the former with the latter, I get a blurry combination (think doubly exposed photograph) of the two.

View 9 Replies View RelatedEven though the strength of the blur tool has been set to 100%, the image mode is set to RGD, and I'm applying the blur tool to the right layer, it has no effect whatsoever.

After several minutes installing I get the messgae: Adobe Photoshop Elements 9.0.3 Update.Patch cannot be applied. Please contact product support. But there dioes not appear to be any address to contact support. The cursor on my tools is a blurr of severl + signs and other nondiscript items.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am new at Photoshop.
I have Elements 7, Windows 7.
When working with the blur tool, I see no change to my photograph. However I do see changes on the layer thumbnail in the palatte bin. What am I missing? It worked for a previous photo, but not with a new one I opened up.
I can't find the blur tool/brush /as in Photoshop/. I need to blur parts of the edges of the hair for example after separate it from the background and it's very useful in other cases but I can't find a tool like blur tool.
I worked in photoshop a lot of years and now I started to work in CDX6. Very familiar with CorelDraw but the PP is a unknown land for me.
PSE 7; When switching from text to say clone stamp, or blur tool I get only a cross hair as opposed to the 'pixel' sized circle to see the dimensions of the work that will be affected. If I log out of Elements completely and then re-enter and go to use the clone tool, the brush 'pixel' circle dimension comes up as normal and works as it should. As soon as I go to text mode and then back to clone stamp or blur tool, I just get the cross hair and no circle dimension 'cue' ! how to go from text to clone and get the circle cue dimension instead of just a cross hair without having to log out of elements each time.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI am new to Paint.net and I didn't find the Blur Tool (with a water drop icon). Is there a plug-in to add it the the tool menu?
View 3 Replies View RelatedThe blur tool does not seem to be working like I thought it would work. I am using version 2.8.4.
When blurring a section of a digital painting or photo, it goes to a certain point and then does not seem to blur anymore regardless of how much I keep painting over the area with the tool.
When I apply a gaussian blur filter to the entire image, I can get much more blur to occur by choosing a large blur radius.
I would think my continuous painting with the blur tool would be the same as choosing larger fill radii in the gaussian blur filter. But, as I said the tool stops blurring anymore after a few strokes over an area.
I have tried changing all the different settings - Rate=100, Opacity=100, change the size and style of brush, etc.
I have a created a workaround for the problem by doing something similar to the trick for sharpening that is mentioned in the Blur Tool documentation:
-Duplicate the image layer a few times.
-Go to the duplicate layers and apply different levels of blur.
-Choose the Clone Tool.
-Select 'Image' and 'Registered' from the Clone Tool's control window.
-Activate the Clone Tool on the layer that has the amount of blur desired.
-Switch to the original layer and begin painting the blur with Opacity set to about 60 and use brush dynamics where pressure controls opacity.
This seems to work okay. But, it is a lot of extra steps to get the blur to go further than the Blur Tool allows.
It would be nice to have a blur radius setting in the Blur Tool's control window. Could that work?
I bought and downloaded PSE11. However, I don't think I disabled my virusware. It took an especially long time to download and I don't know if it downloaded correctly. My blur tool does not work and my "guided" options are not there. What is the easiest fix- uninstall and remove the serial number then reinstall using same serial number? My question with this is- how many times can I do this, and or is there an easier fix? I have PSE11 and LR4 and I am going back and forth between which one to use. I really need all the options to work from PSE11.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have some random curves (already created) and I want to blur them just from one side to have the same blur distance and effect one the whole curve.
To more precisely describe what I need, I need to create gradient with direction of normal for every "point". The best example I have found so far are borders in Civilization IV game. Here are two examples:

As you can see, there is a solid curve, which gradually blends (i.e. alpha channel is lowered) till the gradient disappears. I have the solid curve and the question is, what would be the simplest way how to do this (the number of curves is around 100) gradient.
i have outlined this pic and used the Gaussian blur , but how would i soften the edges of the blur so it doesnt look so "sharp"? I want it to kinda blend in so to say here is the pic.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI used to use a tool in PS 5.5 that I can't find in PS7. I believe you would select an area, then you could mirror that area onto a different part of the picture, and it even gave you a display window showing you the original area you selected. Does anyone know what this tool is called and where it's located in Photoshop 7?

View 3 Replies View RelatedDownloaded photoshop CS4....
Tried to do the extract thing...
But the extract control is not under the Image menu.
Whenever I use the find edges thing, the edges appear to be the glowing edges effect.
How do I change that to just black edges?
Im having trouble locating the background erase tool. When the drop menu opens on the erase button, the only options are eraser tool, scissor tool, knife. Where can I find the background eraser tool?
View 2 Replies View RelatedBasically, it was a way of extending the canvas size using the edge information of the image. The reason I am looking for it now is that I imagine it'd be a good way of creating a gallery wrap section for a canvas print, taking the edge detail and reproducing it. If you are not sure what I mean, have a look at this image on my blog. It's the technique I'm talking about. I have access to CS3 or CS4.

View 7 Replies View RelatedWhere can I find the patch tool on Elements 11?
View 4 Replies View RelatedYes, I know where the options to select the arrowheads are (ex: start/end, concavity...etc). But when I create my line, none of the arrowheads are displayed. Not sure what the problem is? Is there an option I may have inadvertently selected which may have turned these off? I am using in Windows Photoshop 5.5. I've used them on this desktop before, again - not sure what's going on here.
Also, is there an option to add arrowheads automagically to the Pen tool in photoshop?
I can select the Quick Selection Tool, which then presents the Quick Selection Tool and the Selecton Brush Tool options in the Tool Options bar (bottom left corner). But nowhere is there an option for rectangular marquee tool or elliptical tool. (This is for Elements 12)
