Feb 20, 2014PSE11, expert mode, when select enhance/adjust levels/lighting - the histogram does not 'pop up' as it did before, instead the dropper draw icon is enable and the only way to disable the dropper is alt F4, this is happening with other enhance options as well.
Note that the quick and guided mode are still working.
Expert mode was working fine till about 2 weeks ago, the only updates that have been done to the laptop have been the microsoft auto updates.
OS win 7
Java 7.45
flash player 12 active x
Have done an uninstall and reinstalled, but the issue still remains.
Need to understand what has caused the expert mode enhance options to be unusable.

Sep 18, 2013I have successfully edited a number of RAW images in Expert Mode cannot find where to click to show that I have finished editing.The result is that I have a lot of images displaying a red band with a lock symbol showing that editing is still in progress and don't know how to let the system know that editing is complete.

Mar 15, 2013Each time I open a new image in ACR and then open image the editing screen reverts to QUICK mode and a smaller screen size. I then have to click to change it to EXPERT mode and then click to make it full screen. I never had this problem with PSE 10.
(I am bringing RAW images in from outside and not via Organiser.)
Is there a way to set these defaults?

Dec 15, 2013I am using Windows 7 Professional 64. I have disabled my virus protection. After several minutes installing I get the messgae: Adobe Photoshop Elements 9.0.3 Update.Patch cannot be applied. Please contact product support. But there dioes not appear to be any address to contact support. The cursor on my tools is a blurr of severl + signs and other nondiscript items.

When working with the blur tool, I see no change to my photograph. However I do see changes on the layer thumbnail in the palatte bin. What am I missing? It worked for a previous photo, but not with a new one I opened up.

Jul 23, 2012I just got PSE CS6 and the blur too will NOT work ....blur filters work, but not BLUR in the tools panel I have tried: unintstall/reinstall, updating, using it no a picture straight after opening it, duplicate layers, selecting an area and then blurring....flattening an image, every single different setting in the the blur tools menu bar NOTHING works. And everything I find about blur is the new blur filters....

Feb 19, 2010PSE 7; When switching from text to say clone stamp, or blur tool I get only a cross hair as opposed to the 'pixel' sized circle to see the dimensions of the work that will be affected. If I log out of Elements completely and then re-enter and go to use the clone tool, the brush 'pixel' circle dimension comes up as normal and works as it should. As soon as I go to text mode and then back to clone stamp or blur tool, I just get the cross hair and no circle dimension 'cue' ! how to go from text to clone and get the circle cue dimension instead of just a cross hair without having to log out of elements each time.

Apr 15, 2013I bought and downloaded PSE11. However, I don't think I disabled my virusware. It took an especially long time to download and I don't know if it downloaded correctly. My blur tool does not work and my "guided" options are not there. What is the easiest fix- uninstall and remove the serial number then reinstall using same serial number? My question with this is- how many times can I do this, and or is there an easier fix? I have PSE11 and LR4 and I am going back and forth between which one to use. I really need all the options to work from PSE11.

Nov 20, 2012Installed PSE 11. OS is Win 7. Worked ok a short time then got message "PSE 11 stopped working". I try to open file from Orginizer into Expert Editor and only get a blank screen now. Tried all three ways of opening into Editor. (Works ok in PSE 9). What other info do you need to solve this problem? This is the second time this has happened. The first time I believe it corrected with out any action on my part.

Oct 16, 2007I do a lot of work for TV and as such have to often provide flattened layered art to broadcasters. I flatten most layers and flatten layer styles as well.
Question: is there any way to preserve a layer style blend mode when flattening i.e. I have some rasterized text with an Outer glow. The outer glow has a Linear Burn blend mode (or similar).
Is there a way I can merge this layer complete with style to a flat layer and PRESERVE the way it looks? Often I try this and it looks different (obviously because there is a blend mode being implemented with the layer style.
Any pointers how to get around this? I use CS2 by the way.
Another one - I often whack stuff into After Effects and put on an adjustment layer at the top with a gaussian blue (so it blurs everything below). Is there a way to do this in Photoshop i.e. an adjustment layer placed at the top of the layer stack with a BLUR? Any workarounds people know of or is this just something I can do in After Effects?

Feb 19, 2013I have a PSD file open and I added a new layer via the copy command. I have added a Layer Mask to the new layer and I'm trying to use the Brush Tool with black forground to cover part of the new layer. I'm following an online tutorial step by step, but when I try to use the Brush Tool I get "could not use color replacement tool because it only works in full color mode". The Image>Mode is set to RGB.

The new blur filters available in CS6 don't have any on-screen controls visible at all (the ones that let you adjust the position and strength and other parameters), like shown in the marketing videos and tutorials. I don't know if it's a Windows specific problem, but I've seen this problem on multiple PCs.
