I have PSE11 set as the default program to open .jpegs, for instance......so, if I double-click a picture icon it will launch PSE11, but it's always in "Quick" mode initially......is there a way to configure it so that it launches in Expert mode each time?

How I can make Elements 11 always open in Expert mode?I'd like Elements 11 to do this whenever I either double-click a photo file to start the program or click the Elements 11 icon to start.

View 1 Replies View RelatedPSE11, expert mode, when select enhance/adjust levels/lighting - the histogram does not 'pop up' as it did before, instead the dropper draw icon is enable and the only way to disable the dropper is alt F4, this is happening with other enhance options as well.
Note that the quick and guided mode are still working.
Expert mode was working fine till about 2 weeks ago, the only updates that have been done to the laptop have been the microsoft auto updates.

Have done an uninstall and reinstalled, but the issue still remains.
Need to understand what has caused the expert mode enhance options to be unusable.
When I bring up a picture which I want to edit in the expert mode I can't see the layers I created
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have successfully edited a number of RAW images in Expert Mode cannot find where to click to show that I have finished editing.The result is that I have a lot of images displaying a red band with a lock symbol showing that editing is still in progress and don't know how to let the system know that editing is complete.
View 4 Replies View RelatedEach time I open a new image in ACR and then open image the editing screen reverts to QUICK mode and a smaller screen size. I then have to click to change it to EXPERT mode and then click to make it full screen. I never had this problem with PSE 10.
(I am bringing RAW images in from outside and not via Organiser.)
Is there a way to set these defaults?
Any list of what the differnt levels of Expert Mode do? I can't seem to find it in the product help file.

Just performed 10 installs of CS5.5 design Premium on Mac Intel Towers running 10.5.8 and 10.6.8. On three of the machines the PS app in 64-bit mode crashes on launch from the Standard user account. In the Admin account it opens in 64bit mode no problem. In the standard user account if I switch to open in 32-bit mode it opens without issue.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled three times. ( as per Adobe ) There are no third party plug ins, even if there were why would it run in the Admin account?All other Apps in the CS work fine.
Where is the "Sharpen Filter" under the "Expert" Tab in Photoshop Elements 11?
View 3 Replies View RelatedInstalled PSE 11. OS is Win 7. Worked ok a short time then got message "PSE 11 stopped working". I try to open file from Orginizer into Expert Editor and only get a blank screen now. Tried all three ways of opening into Editor. (Works ok in PSE 9). What other info do you need to solve this problem? This is the second time this has happened. The first time I believe it corrected with out any action on my part.

I would like it to launch like it used to where I can control the window size but can't seem to figure out how to get back to that capability. I have an iMac running Mountain Lion. But double clicking shortcut on desktop does not launch PSE12. It quits trying very quickly. I was running PSE 11 without problem. I was able to start PSE 12 by going to the Program folder. It told me that the Online services are not available. I continued and I had difficulties converting the catalog. I wasn't able to launch the Editor from the Organiser. I decided to try again from scratch by downloading the software with the downloader assistant. All went well, but the Launching.

It quit working in the middle of alternately using it with an online screen of an art class and now refuses to launch. I have done repeated uninstalls and reinstalls to no avail. It's welcome screen does come up but now with the message that my trial version has expired and the only option given is to BUY NOW. I have a licensed product. Is this a program bug as I've read others encountering similar issues.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI get this error message every time I startup the Editor. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the software. The same problem exits. I have tried the Control+alt+Shift when the Editor is starting up and that does not work either.
I am running this on a Windows 7 machine. I am trying to launch the Editor from the welcome screen. The editor comes up and I can see the workspace but then the error message comes up. I get the same error message when I try to launch the Editor from the Organizer.
The error message states: "A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if the solution is available"
I have LR 4 loaded on my machine and do most of my editing there. I tried to open the Editor to create a blank canvas and got this error message. I also get the error message when trying to open a photo in the editor directly from lightroom.
When I attempt to run updates for PSE 11 I get the following error message: "The update server is not responding. The server might be offline temporarily, or hte internet or firewall settings may be incorrect. Please try again alter. Error Code: u41m1c212
Organizer has stopped working for me. When I try to launch it, the "credits" screen flashes briefly, but then nothing is displayed. If I try an option, like "Get Photos and Videos," then nothing happens, and all the options become grayed out. I just upgraded from PSE 10 to 11, and I created a new catalog. The organizer was working fine last night, but not today.

I tryed to remove and reinstall application but with the same result.
When I click in the shortcut (now covered with a shield icon) the programme starts, fails to fully boot and dissapears. Subsequent efforts to start then do not even try to boot.

I've had alot of responses to different options, even from Adobe themselves, and nothing is working. I get the Welcome Menu screen but when I click on either Organizer or Edit nothing happens. I am the administrator on my home computer and tried launching as administrator but nothing works. I've tried launching it from "Program File" exe but nothing. When I do this I get this error message;
"Windows cannot find 'C:Program Files (x86)AdobePhotoshop Elements12PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again."
I've tried a Install Photoshop Elements in a simplified mode, nothing. I've shut down my firewall and virus program and then install, nothing. Looks like I've stooped everyone. Now I can't even return it because the package is open.
My computer is a 64-bit Operating System, Intel (R) Core i7 CPU, 869 @ 2.80GHz, Windows 7 Professional.
When I put a jump drive into my USB port Adobe Photo Shop Album Starter Edition 3.2 launches. It won't go away. I can't see what is on my jump drive. I can only see pictures. It's got to be something on my computer because the jump drives I've tried work perfectly on other computers. I tried a blank drive and it did the same thing.

Is it fully downloaded? I get Read Me file in four languages as well as a PE 11 icon after double clicking the desktop icon.
