I've a picture of mom and son so I tried to extract tool every time I made a mistake. How do I extract it without them?
for those who extract subjects from backgrounds on a regular basis, what tool do you now using, seeing the Extract tool is gone in CS4 ?
View 13 Replies View RelatedI read in some website of using the extract tool in photoshop. But when i finally worked on it, it made be to think using pen tool was better way of making a clean cut out and changing the background.
But i still think the extract option in photoshop has some thing more. I really what to master it.
We use lot of cutouts for our feature pages. Say we need a neat cutout of a blond with hair scattered and the cutout should come clean even along the hair lines.
When i used the extract tool along the hair line, it did gave some result, but when repeated with pen tool result was some what similar. I use photoshop 7 and OS windows xp.
Is there a cleanup tool to go along with this so you can cleanup all those nasty edges when after you have extracted it ?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a picture of a friend and they need it on a white background instead of the background she is currently on.
I have done loads of research and tried using the extract tool which cos of the way her hair is didnt work, so then I attempted to use the pen tool but was left with all jagged edges.
I am playng around with changing backgrounds. What can I do to make the foreground and background match?
how can you make the scale match..not having a giant person on a small background?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI was exploring Photoshop and came across the 'Smart Highlight' tool via the Extract.
Buy choosing the edge highlighter (b) and holding 'Ctrl' I'm able to use the 'Smart Highlight' tool.
My question is what does this really do? I check the PS help but I'm still confused about its capability as a tool.
I have a drawing which has hundreds of levels on and i'm trying to establish what the MEAN level is and the AVERAGE level. I thought the best way might be to extract the text to excel and perform it there but at the moment the only way i can do it is to copy and paste the text and its taking me forever. Is there a way to either a) extract text to excel or b) calculate a MEAN value based on texted selected?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI used to use a tool in PS 5.5 that I can't find in PS7. I believe you would select an area, then you could mirror that area onto a different part of the picture, and it even gave you a display window showing you the original area you selected. Does anyone know what this tool is called and where it's located in Photoshop 7?

View 2 Replies View RelatedBasically, it was a way of extending the canvas size using the edge information of the image. The reason I am looking for it now is that I imagine it'd be a good way of creating a gallery wrap section for a canvas print, taking the edge detail and reproducing it. If you are not sure what I mean, have a look at this image on my blog. It's the technique I'm talking about. I have access to CS3 or CS4.

View 4 Replies View RelatedYes, I know where the options to select the arrowheads are (ex: start/end, concavity...etc). But when I create my line, none of the arrowheads are displayed. Not sure what the problem is? Is there an option I may have inadvertently selected which may have turned these off? I am using in Windows Photoshop 5.5. I've used them on this desktop before, again - not sure what's going on here.
Also, is there an option to add arrowheads automagically to the Pen tool in photoshop?
I can select the Quick Selection Tool, which then presents the Quick Selection Tool and the Selecton Brush Tool options in the Tool Options bar (bottom left corner). But nowhere is there an option for rectangular marquee tool or elliptical tool. (This is for Elements 12)
