View 2 RepliesI've a picture of mom and son so I tried to extract tool every time I made a mistake. How do I extract it without them?
for those who extract subjects from backgrounds on a regular basis, what tool do you now using, seeing the Extract tool is gone in CS4 ?
View 13 Replies View RelatedI read in some website of using the extract tool in photoshop. But when i finally worked on it, it made be to think using pen tool was better way of making a clean cut out and changing the background.
But i still think the extract option in photoshop has some thing more. I really what to master it.
We use lot of cutouts for our feature pages. Say we need a neat cutout of a blond with hair scattered and the cutout should come clean even along the hair lines.
When i used the extract tool along the hair line, it did gave some result, but when repeated with pen tool result was some what similar. I use photoshop 7 and OS windows xp.
Is there a cleanup tool to go along with this so you can cleanup all those nasty edges when after you have extracted it ?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a picture of a friend and they need it on a white background instead of the background she is currently on.
I have done loads of research and tried using the extract tool which cos of the way her hair is didnt work, so then I attempted to use the pen tool but was left with all jagged edges.
I am playng around with changing backgrounds. What can I do to make the foreground and background match?
how can you make the scale match..not having a giant person on a small background?
can anyone who uses this tool for extracting know of any good tutorials. I'm new to photoshop 7 and would like some simple explanations on this tool.

Tried to do the extract thing...
But the extract control is not under the Image menu.
I was exploring Photoshop and came across the 'Smart Highlight' tool via the Extract.
Buy choosing the edge highlighter (b) and holding 'Ctrl' I'm able to use the 'Smart Highlight' tool.
My question is what does this really do? I check the PS help but I'm still confused about its capability as a tool.
I'm trying to figure out how to move from a line of text in Type tool mode to the Marquee [or any other tool, for that matter] by using a key stroke instead of having to select the new tool in the Tools palette. Hitting "m" just adds an "m" to my line of type.
by using the shortcut keys and the drop down menu for hue/saturation it connects to the eyedropper tool and locks up. Hue/saturation window never opens. Not sure what is going on. Running PS7.0 on this computer Windows 7 with no problems for about a year until today.Uninstalled and reinstalled the program twice today and still acting the same. All other commands seem to be functioning properly.

Add a new layer (you should now have a file with 2 layers)
Choose Select>Deselect Layers
Click on the QuickMask
paint within the mask with brush
error:
"could not complete the Brush Tool command because of a program error."
workaround - keep a layer selected.
Is it possible to add a command, say 'laymcur' to a tool pallet ?
View 4 Replies View RelatedSuccess using AutoCAD's CHAMFER>ANGLE command to chamfer in 3D? Distance/Distance works fine, but I haven't yet figured out how to use the chamfer tool to put a 30 degree chamfer on a cylinder (or any angle for that matter) by specifying a distance and an angle. Seems like it should be simple, but I always give up and end up creating the tapered edge by revolving a polyline that already has the chamfer, or using the TAPER>FACES tool.

when ever I enter pedit command, and I move into model space to select polylines to join, my curser/pointer disappears? I can not select any lines because I no longer have the little square box to select lines showing. I have nothing at all. When I move out of model space, my white select arrow reappears?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've just installed 2013 and Service Pack 1.1 and downloaded (and installed) off line Help. All the Tool Palettes except my custom ones, are blank.
I can't find the command line, even after typing "commandline".And the search feature doesn't do anything. And I can't find where to send a helpdesk plea for support.
When I drag a previous custom command into an existing custom tool bar and edit the custom command (then rename the command in the Name and Command Name) it also changes the previous custom command that I originally drug into the toolbar. What am I doing wrong?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am currently writing a series of routines for setting the layers for text, leaders and dimension commands. The end goal is a system where any annotation command sets the correct layer for the duration of the command, then reverts back to the layer that was active before the command.
I have managed to complete all the code, and it appears to be working fine, I just have one question: I have used -layer "m" "Lay_name" etc... for all layer setting commands, rather than any code to see if the layer exists already. In my limited testing this seems to be suitable, nothing that exists on that layer seems to be affected.
I know how to write code to determine if the layer exists already and set the layer instead, but so far it seems unnecessary??
After installing the VBA Module, I get the message "Unknown command "VBARUN"". I've rebooted, restarted and tried reinstalling the VBA Module to no avail.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI press CTRL+9 to make the Command Line disappear while drawing. When I plot (or when doing a plot preview) , the Command Line appears again by itself. So I always have to turn the Command Line off manually after each plot
The bug still happens;
- if Dynamic Input is turned off or on
- if I plot to a real device or in PDF
- if the Cammand Line Palette i docked or floating.
This is not an issue in AutoCAD 2012 so I guess it has to do with the new way they programmed the revamped Command Line palette in 2013.
Using Windows7
I need to save a drawing file and give it the name of my desire using a single command, I don't want to issue "saveas" and then specify the name in the file name prompt. This problem is has been faced when I was using ScriptPro and I couldn't succeeded to do that. Hence I need to know if it is feasible to do the stuff using a single command. It will be preferred if I can choose the location to save the file also rather than save the file to the default location.
