Sep 30, 2013Since I capture my images in RAW, when I open them in Adobe Camera RAW (via Elements 11), what information is displayed in the image and the histogram I see?
Is it showing me the jpeg created in the camera? If so, the jpeg settings in my camera are not only important in viewing the LCD and the histogram in my camera at the time of capture. They would also be important in viewing my image when it first opens in Adobe Camera RAW.

Feb 17, 2014I have 26,000 images on an external drive (currently designated drive M), almost all tagged and/or rated and indexed in two PSE 11 catalogs on the main PC hard drive. I am just about to replace my PC. I assume that when I connect my external drive to the new PC, it is unlikely to be Drive M. How do I maintain access through the catalogs with all the stored information?

Mar 25, 2013It was necessary to reload Windows 7. This eliminated all programs (i.e. Elements 10). I reloaded Elemensts 10 but had lost all catalog, category, and subcategory information. My photographs (3,000) had been saved but not "backed-up" (I did not realize there was a difference). All photographs are intact with tags (but not catalog information). Is there some way to restore the catalog and category data?

If I use backup/restore i would need a copy of my pictures on each computer I use and that is not what i want. What i want is to use the same catalog and pictures when i move form one PC to another.

Aug 26, 2011I am a AutoCad drafter for telecommunications and I have utility pole points (long/lats)
I can insert the poles via long/lat and all is great, my issue is I would like more information in those points.
For example, pole number, class, HOA, Make Ready. Currently I create a survey data store and import ASCII Points using PNE(comma delimited)
So with my Excel file (this is where I get my pole information from) I get a point/northing/easting to enter into the formatting section.
I would like to add more information to these individual points, like ploe number, class, HOA...
If I view the point table I see that there are a lot of other columns, can I use them or customize them? is there a quick tutorial on this issue?

Oct 19, 2013I have Photoshop Middle Eastern Version CS5. When I type Arabic the letters are typed backward.
As you know arabic is typed from right to left, but in photoshop they are typed from left to right.
Everything is fine when typing on another program like notepad or MS word, but in photoshop letters are reversed,
Windows -> Character: I chose Adobe Arabic
Windows -> Paragraph is set to right align text and justification is set to arabic, eventhough arabic letter are typed backward and are not connected.

AutoCad 2D :: Reuse Of Typed-in Numerical Input?
Jul 11, 2011Often we have to re-type the same number (value) in the command line. Not the point coordinate triplet, but a single number as input, for example in Move Copy command.
I always wonder if there is a trick in AutoCAD to recall the previously typed-in number quickly and easily (apart from Ctrl+C Ctrl+V method).
Microstation does it very conveniently by pressing up and down arrows in Accu-draw dialog, and even places a graphical mark on the screen when cusor moves over the previously entered value.

Aug 6, 2011When I am using my PSPx3 to enter text on an photo, after I get Colors, Pixels etc. selected, when I click on the subject to start typing - Up comes the last line of text I had used on a previous project. If I delete that text and start fresh, when i click to select the spot to start typing, up comes the "fresh text". This happens as many and every time I click to type.

Apr 17, 2012I am currently running Inventor 2009 64-bit SP2 and periodically (and only recently), I have had the problem of my keyboard keys not displaying what I am typing. This is only affecting Inventor and no other program to my knowledge. To make matters worse, it happens absolutely randomly. In fact, it happened just 4 minutes ago, which prompted this post! I was typing some words out and in the middle of the word, it changed what the inputted keys were. To give an example, the letter P comes in as L. The letter S, comes in as the letter G. The letter M comes in as semicolon. Catch my drift? At first I thought it changed to a Dvorak key setting, but even if that were the case (which it is not), why would it do it randomly?

Aug 16, 2013This is a cropped corner of an illustration I removed from its opaque background and placed on a transparent background. The north and west borders show the whilte line that forms whenever I place objects on a transparent background. The south and east borders are the cropped edges -- they are clean and make the trasition from object to background color without that white line. With some objects, it's possible to use the Plygonal Lasso Tool, for instance, and trim that object away from the background. With portraits or irregularly shaped objects, though, it's necessary to use the Magic Wand or other means to trim the background away from the object, which results in that unwanted white line. Defringing, Removing White Matte, Anti-aliasing, trying to predict what color you'll lay the silhouette on and working in that color, and on and on. It seems as though Photoshop would be relied upon heavily by professionals who need to place objects on top of one another without intrusion.
