Nov 23, 2007I'd like to Edit a document that's being scanned from a scanner (Epson cx5000 all in one printer)
More specifically i want to edit the text on the document. I know about OCR software and how it will convert the image into editable text in like MS word and what not, but that's not really what i need to do.
i need the document text to look exactly the same after the edit as it does from the scan, if you know what i mean.
I'm editing a certification. I lost my OC cert (oleoresin capsicum, commonly referred to as "Pepper Spray." you only need to be sprayed with it once in your life (so long as you have the cert); and I'm absolutely not about to get sprayed again, as I'd probably rather shoot myself in the leg.
I have another person's cert that i can scan, i just need to change the date and name on the cert.
I'm not having much luck getting the edited version too look right though. The text looks too sharp compared to the other text; matching fonts is proving tricky, and when printed off, the area that's edited looks "whiter" than the areas not edited.

Jan 19, 2013I am using PSE 9 to crop JPEG scaned documents. In the past I have cropped these images and used the crop box to center the scanned image. The crop box usually goes past the edge of the document. When I did this in the past, the area off the document and inside the crop box would turn white, which is what I need it to do. Now it is turning black. how to get it back to defalting to white.

Feb 18, 2013I'm making some graphics to be printed on a car. I have some lines with outer glow on them, but Illustrator won't render these unless I use 72DPI in raster effects reslution. I would like to go higher, but it won't give me anything. Guessing it's to heavy for Illustrator maybe? Is there anything I can do about this? I'm making my graphics in 1:1 scale, but I do it in a lower scale since it's just vector art anyway, however how would that effect my glow? Since it's a raster effect.

Dec 6, 2012I scanned a document into PSP X5 and I am trying to use the materials palette to highlight (in red) certain spots on the document. The palette defaults to grey shades only. I reset the workspace to factory defaults and even tried the SHIFT-START - without luck. However, if I open any color images, the palette shows full color options. if this is a problem with how I scanned the document into PSP X5?

Nov 15, 2004I am trying to figure out how a document is given that old look. I could not find any pictures, but the best way I can describe it is that a lot of documentary/info movies use this effect when quoting text from a report or something similar.
It has the appearance of being neatly torn at the top and bottom (I figured out how to do that step through the jagged effect) the text looks as if it is has been photocopied through a bad copier (I tried the photocopy effect, but it made everything too dark) as it has little tiny splotches here and there.

Mar 27, 2006I scanned some hand-written text at very high resolution.
But when I scale it down and print it at high resolution it doesnt appear very sharp. On close inspection I can see slight jaggy anti-aliasing.
How can I make the edges of the text sharper?
I've enclosed a sample.
Also, sometimes I need to use the graphic keyed over another photo.
What is the best way to make it transparent, while still maintaing the sharp edges?
Is there anyway to turn the file into a vector file so I wont have these problems?

Oct 3, 2005i regulary scan documents with text but find text looks muddy when printed .blocky edges .ive played around with unsharp mask but no joy. if i input text through photoshop 7 its nice and sharp yet scanned text remains poor .played around with scanner using different resolutions and input formats ie colour doc . line art etc tried abbyy finereader but waste of time (need graphics in background)

Oct 19, 2013I have Photoshop Middle Eastern Version CS5. When I type Arabic the letters are typed backward.
As you know arabic is typed from right to left, but in photoshop they are typed from left to right.
Everything is fine when typing on another program like notepad or MS word, but in photoshop letters are reversed,
Windows -> Character: I chose Adobe Arabic
Windows -> Paragraph is set to right align text and justification is set to arabic, eventhough arabic letter are typed backward and are not connected.

Jan 27, 2013I've been using Paint.net for a few years, but only with .jpg photos. I recently scanned some text as a .jpg and cannot figure out how to correct some spelling errors.
Also, the paper I scanned was far removed from the original, so the white blank areas are full of black artifacts. Is there some way to have Paint.net recognize the actual test so I can have a clean text copy?

I've just done a factory reset & it's still doing it.
