View 2 RepliesI just installed GIMP. My experience is with office suites, like WordPerfect and Sun Open Office.
First, is this the official forum for gimp.org?
I need to edit a GIF image file. I have it loaded and converted to RGB. I cannot find anything on any menu about edit a GIF file. It is basically a horizontal rectangle with text on the left and a color on the right, and I just need to replace the text and change the font, without disturbing anything else. It needs to "fit" back into a webpage afterwards. As far as I can see, there is only one layer, if that makes any difference.
I'm want to reproduce a differential housing. Therefor I need a part which is identical to the inside of the housing. In other words, I need a positive part inside of the housing.
I've tried to do this with Derived parts by placing the differential housing in a large block. But then I get a block where lining of the housing is missing. So i can't do anything with this derived part.
I have attempt to upload the file, but it is too large. Even when i try to compress it.
I am capturing a book-case design that I made long ago into Intentor. I am almost finished, and I want to produce .dwg files and a bill of materials of parts that can be held.
For various reasons, almost all the items in the existing design are assemblies, and the underlying parts correspond more or less to half of physical parts that are contained inside a repeating cell. I will almost certainly continue using this approach.
A simplified design that shows this is at [URL]..... in the file Display.iam
I created the file Slat.ipt by using derive (Slat.iam).
If I replace the Slat assemblies with the file Slat.ipt, the bill of materials will show parts that correspond to physical parts that I can hold in my hand, or list on an invoice. I can do this with many, many mouse operations.
To make this modification quickly, I attempted to do Component -> replace on the Slat assembly. I use this operation a lot to replace one version of an assembly with another. When I do it with a .ipt file, the system pauses for some tens of seconds, then crashes.
A brute force work around is to use the mouse to do the replacement, essentially rebuilding the entire project in place.
I have an assembly which I want to replace one of the parts with one of four other parts.
My code reads:
Select Case Width
Case "750"
Component.Replace("part:1", "L:Drawingspart2", True)
End Select
This works fine and when 750 is selected, part1 is replaced with part2.
My problem is then if I want to select "1000" I don't know the part name which I will be replaced by part3 as this could be part1, part2, part4,or part5.
I am trying to make a mouse over text pop up when you roll over each of these lots on this plat map. Basically it shows a price and acreage size for each lot you rollover. Is this possible with gimp?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI scanned some hand-written text at very high resolution.
But when I scale it down and print it at high resolution it doesnt appear very sharp. On close inspection I can see slight jaggy anti-aliasing.
How can I make the edges of the text sharper?
I've enclosed a sample.
Also, sometimes I need to use the graphic keyed over another photo.
What is the best way to make it transparent, while still maintaing the sharp edges?
Is there anyway to turn the file into a vector file so I wont have these problems?
i regulary scan documents with text but find text looks muddy when printed .blocky edges .ive played around with unsharp mask but no joy. if i input text through photoshop 7 its nice and sharp yet scanned text remains poor .played around with scanner using different resolutions and input formats ie colour doc . line art etc tried abbyy finereader but waste of time (need graphics in background)
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am using inventor 2010 sp1. I have a content center part that I want to replace the family template. I am having problems doing so on random components. Sometimes it lets me and sometimes not. I cannot pinpoint any differences or irregularities between the different library parts.
I am recieving the message indicating..."Import Part Invalid"
Here is my process
Open from content center and save to another folder with or without the same name.
Open Content Editor
right click and replace family template
Recieve this message. "Import Part Invalid"
Note that i made no changes to the file.
I'm making my first iAssemblies and have run into a strange problem.
I have the option to add the Table Replace column for iParts, but this option isn't avialeble for parts inserted from content center.
I've got an error everytime I try to replace a Family template in my Content Center (I work with Inventor 2011).
I try with a simple part. Here's the steps:
1- Create a simple part (cube with Width, Height and Depth parameters)
2- Create an iPart with 12 members
3- Publish the part in the Content Center
4- Modify the part (add a column in table)
5- Save
6- Open Content Center Editor and click on Replace Family Template
Got the error: "Import Part is Invalid".
I tried "Save As" instead of "Save" and got the same result.
I'm currently an Art Major in school, and I've been studying examples from the Art Nouveau era. I've been sketching out symmetrical designs, scanning them and mirroring them on Photoshop.
All has gone well so far, however, I'm now trying to figure out how to clean it up and make it look "perfect". In terms of being perfect, I want it to look completely clean. I darkened the lines as much as I could and erased as much as I could, however, I've tried different things such as blurring, sharpening, and adjusting levels, but the lines still seem too jagged from the sketching. I'm wanting to smooth them out and make them look nice.
Here is my drawing:
and here is an example of what I would like it to look like(minus the completely filled in black part)
You see how crisp it is? No jagged edges, completely smooth and clean. This is what I want.

So does anyone know of any ways to get to this result?
I scanned a black and white image and have been trying to touch it up, smooth the edges basically.
It is a kanji character, basically four asymmetrical shapes, but the edges have become very jagged.
i scanned an image. i like the font. what do i do to copy the font, and use the font on the same image?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI've scanned in an image of a drawing that I did on tracing paper with a black ink pen. When the image comes through onto my screen there are some white areas that are 'shaded' a 'dirty' brown colour. I could go through and try and erase all the shading but that would take ages and it's not very efficient.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have scanned in a document and need to change it to digital art. Since I haven't been able to find a suitable font to match it exactly, I am thinking I'll have to do it by hand.
A sample of the text is below. Should I use the pen tool for this? Or some other tool? I would be glad if you could point me in the right direction. As you can see, the document's blurry so I can't just use a marquee.
I scanned a lined image into photoshop, and now I want the lines to have opacity so that I may color underneath them, but I am clueless on how to do this. I have photoshop 7, and the link to my image is below. Code:

My image restoration has one need that I am not familiar with. The photograph was scanned from a textured print, which appears as a bas relief (like a canvas). I would like to remove this texture to help remove the noise and sharpen the photo. Please let me know any techniques for removing this moir?

The original artwork was done on paper with a black marker. The lines are pretty ruff though. I want to smooth out all the lines without using the pen tool to path out all the lines and refill.

I can't quite figure out how to do this using Photoshop.
