Photoshop :: Logo Design Using Picture And Custom Font
Mar 21, 2006I want to create a logo. The word I am creating is going to be Foxx. I want the backside of the F to have a fox's head coming out of it. I want the appearance of the Fox's had to be growing from the back side of the F. I am capable of pulling this off. I am more interested in the techniques that some of you would use to acheive this task.
1.What I would do is find a picture of a fox's face in this case a profile shot.
2.I'd then import that pic and extract the head from the fox (only in the picture PETA )
3.I'd then use my combination of the pen tool, shape tool, and direct selection tool to trace the fox's face.
4.Finally I'd design the F to match the fox's face.
I do not have Illustrator.
Illustrator :: Converting Design (Logo) To Image
Jan 14, 2013I've created a logo, and I'd like to use it in some PDF documents. I've tried several different methods for converting it into an image, but the image quality really degrades when I do. Maybe I'm expecting too much - since the vector image is essentially perfect - but it seems like there should be a way to come up with a decent looking image. Is there a "best practice" for this process?

I have cropped the photo out as much as I can but have not had enough luck with using the cloning tool on such a large space with a small amount of light change as it comes up looking like the bright blue wall behind us is streaky. How can I do this successfully?

I am using Photoshop Elements 11. I am new to these types of softwares. I used to do this stuff with filters etc in dark rooms developing my own film. I am trying to do some Lynda courses on how to use the software better but am on a time deadline for getting this website completed.

May 29, 2013I've set out to give this logo some 3D elements for some pop. I don't want to just extrude the thing as if it was a cylinder, I want to extrue the Triniti symbol, circles, as well as the black and green quadrants in some way. Not exactly sure, but I'll figure that out later. Afterwards I will possibly be dropping the logo into Aftereffects and making some kind of animated 3D intro with it. Here is the logo:
So I took a png of the logo, auto traced the image in illustrator, and used the 3D extrude effect. This was the result:

Obviously not what I'm looking for. Even if I only extruded parts of the logo, the behavior of the 3D effect would never give me what I'm looking for. Looking at tutorials, the extude effect seems to only be good for text and non layered shapes.

What I'm trying to accomplish is something that I could see working just fine in some kind of CAD software like Solidworks. I would just select the features I want, and extrude them as I desired. I do have access that piece of software, but I feel like that is a wierd work around, and I would have problems when it came time to apply the proper colors, and when I would bring the logo back into after effects for animation.

I also tried dropping the logo into After Effects directly and did the whole "convert shapes from vector layer" and using ray tracing tried extruding it there, but I can only extrude the entire logo, not individual parts.
Illustrator :: Why Are Logo Elements Suddenly Uneditable
Mar 7, 2013the logos i created are suddenly no longer editable, neither paths nor text! i can select each element with the selection tool but anchor points don't show up so i can't edit them, and i can't select the text itself to edit it. nothing's locked, i've ungrouped everything, i can see the specs for everything. yesterday i used save to web a couple of times. today i started recreating the logos and it happened again after i exported (not save to web) once or twice. and today i can select the paths, but they're no longer a single path but a tracing, as if it was bitmapped and then traced. but i haven't rasterized or traced. and the type is still unselectable and uneditable as type. it happened again after updating. i have since reinstalled and reupdated, but i still have to re-create all four logos - and it's possible it could happen again! as it is, one "unrasterized" version of the logos allows me to select the paths but doesn't show the anchor points - and still won't let me edit the text.
