Photoshop Elements :: Using 12 As External Editor From Aperture - No Photo Appears
Sep 27, 2013
When using elements 12 as an external editor from aperture the elements opens but no photo appears. In elements 9 it worked fine. Do I have a set up issue?
It worked fine with elements 9 always worked well.
I can't seem to get (my TRIAL Version) of Elements 12 to work properly as an external editor for Aperture.
Whilst I can import RAW or Jpeg images into the Elements 12 programme from my system files I can't export files from Aperture to Elements 12 from the Aperture workspace.
I have set up iPhoto so that I can use Photoshop Elements as the external editor. When I select a photo and choose 'External Editor,' Elements comes up but my photo is not displayed.
I have installed elements 10 but lightroom3 does not recognise it and I cannot use it as an external editor. Do I need to unistall lightroom and reinstall it or is ther an aesier way?
I would like to replace Photoshop with PS elements9 as the default editor. This way I can add an additional editor without displacing PSE9. Right now PSE9 is listed as the additional.
I have Lightroom 3, and just installed Elements 11 on my iMac. When I am in the develop mode of Lightroom, I want to be able to click "Edit In Photoshop Elements 11" to edit my photo and return it to my catalog, just as I could do with Photoshop. When I click on "Edit in Photoshop Elements 11", Elements is activated but the photo never appears.
When I right click on an image in Windows Explorer or Adobe Bridge, then click on "open with", in the list of image viewers and programs, Photoshop Elements is not listed. When I browse to the PE11 .exe file to select it, nothing happens. How can I set PE11 to be the default photo editing program?
I just purchased PSE12 today, and I got it to load correctly in my computer. The photo organizer works, but the editor does not open at all. I get the bar that makes it look like it's opening, but nothing past this point.
I just installed PSE 12 on my new iMac. When I try to open a photo from iPhoto, I am getting the following message, "Could not complete your request because Photoshop Elements does not recognize this type of file." How do I access my photos to edit them?
After initial install on my windows 7 64 bit system , all aspects of the software worked for about a month and then I could not open the photo editor. All other aspects of this product opens and works fine . Unfortunately I cannot use the editor or open photos previously modified in the editor. I can open the editor if I log in in safe mode but no other way. I have done 2-3 clean installs as described in previous articles, there are no errors just won't open.
I reinstalled the PSE12, and when I launch it I get to the Welcome Screen. But, when I click on Photo Editor, nothing happens, no error code. (Organizer starts)
how to go about moving all the photos that are currently on my comp hard drive to an external hard drive without losing all my work labelling the photos in the catalog. I want to avoid having to relink all the connections on >15k photos which are all tagged and in a catalog.
BTW I am currently running on PSE 7.0 but am willing to upgrade.
I have the main screen pop up and asks if I want to organize my pictures or edit them. Nothing happens when I clock edit. Then I go into the organize and try to go to edit and an error message comes up saying I need the trial to dowload to use this. I try clicking downlaod and nothing happens?
the organizer has stopped sending photo to edit, full edit workspace opens with no photo. I can still pull a photo in from the edit workspace. i use photoshop elements 9
I have upgraded from pse9 to 11 and after selecting a photo in organiser then viewing in full screen and enlarging to 100% then exiting, organiser loses the highlight and reverts to the first photo. This also occurs when the photo is edited and saved you have to find where the editedd photo has gone to, it is time consuming when you have a large number of photos in the organiser. pse9 did not do this. Also pse11 does not sort photos properly by the shot date especially when the photos ard edited
When a new blank file is created at given dimensions ( say 6 x 4 inches) the actual dimensions on screen and the ruler appear approx. 1.333 times smaller than the actual size ( 4.5 x 3 inches ) .How can I correct this?
I am trying to edit a photo that I have in lightroom with elements. Elements is greyed out. Tried a different photo and elements works fine as an editor. do not understand why on this particular photo elements is greyed out.
if I choose PSE11 to be the photo editor in Aperture, the selected photo won't be opened in PSE11, PSE11 is started though. However, if I drag and drop from Aperture to PSE11 it works, but saving back to Aperture does not.
I am able to edit a photo in Elements 12 but if it is a raw photo it opens in camera raw. On these .nef files, when I save them, (comand-S) it still brings up the save as box. If I click file-save, same thing. I can not get these particular pictures to save over to my aperture library, which is still in the iphoto library if that matters.
I do have PSE Preferences as Save over current file, always save, file extension use lower case, (save as to Original Folder is checked as well.) When I edit from a jpeg in aperture, it seems to work fine, it is just the .nef files which is what most of my files are.
In Aperture my preferences are External editor, Photoshop Elements 12, Tiff 8 (I have tried PSD as well) and Adobe RGB Color. It seems like this worked in Elements 11, but maybe I hadn't tried a raw file, so I am not sure. Also, is Tiff 8 the best or is PSD better. Do they both save as layers?
