Photoshop Elements :: Can't Set As Default Photo Editor
Feb 6, 2013
When I right click on an image in Windows Explorer or Adobe Bridge, then click on "open with", in the list of image viewers and programs, Photoshop Elements is not listed. When I browse to the PE11 .exe file to select it, nothing happens. How can I set PE11 to be the default photo editing program?
where I can change what my default photo editor to what I want. Each time I plug anything that MIGHT have a photo on it activates LR3 causing me to wait until it fully launches and then I have to cancel the import process and then go to file and exit.
My LR3 window is a little two large for the screen and I can't see the red X or the min. button or any other options. I also can't see/find the tools that should show up on the left side of the window. The screen resolution is set an the recommended for my computer and all other programs, but I guess I haven't tried to change it to resolve this issue.
I prefer to open photos in default layout rather than as floating window. It was so in PSE9 - now I still have it "floating" and then need to change it manually. make default really default?
How can I change my Editor default back to Elements 8? When I downloaded a trial version of Elements 11, my default changed to version 11. I use Adobe Lightroom, and when I switch over to Elements using "Edit In", it automatically open Elements 11 now.
I've searched for the Camera Raw setting that is available from the Photoshop (not PSE8) menu but it is not even available in Photoshop Elements 8 that I've been able to see. Where this setting is?
I would like to replace Photoshop with PS elements9 as the default editor. This way I can add an additional editor without displacing PSE9. Right now PSE9 is listed as the additional.
I just purchased PSE12 today, and I got it to load correctly in my computer. The photo organizer works, but the editor does not open at all. I get the bar that makes it look like it's opening, but nothing past this point.
I just installed PSE 12 on my new iMac. When I try to open a photo from iPhoto, I am getting the following message, "Could not complete your request because Photoshop Elements does not recognize this type of file." How do I access my photos to edit them?
After initial install on my windows 7 64 bit system , all aspects of the software worked for about a month and then I could not open the photo editor. All other aspects of this product opens and works fine . Unfortunately I cannot use the editor or open photos previously modified in the editor. I can open the editor if I log in in safe mode but no other way. I have done 2-3 clean installs as described in previous articles, there are no errors just won't open.
I reinstalled the PSE12, and when I launch it I get to the Welcome Screen. But, when I click on Photo Editor, nothing happens, no error code. (Organizer starts)
When using elements 12 as an external editor from aperture the elements opens but no photo appears. In elements 9 it worked fine. Do I have a set up issue?
It worked fine with elements 9 always worked well.
I have the main screen pop up and asks if I want to organize my pictures or edit them. Nothing happens when I clock edit. Then I go into the organize and try to go to edit and an error message comes up saying I need the trial to dowload to use this. I try clicking downlaod and nothing happens?
the organizer has stopped sending photo to edit, full edit workspace opens with no photo. I can still pull a photo in from the edit workspace. i use photoshop elements 9
I have upgraded from pse9 to 11 and after selecting a photo in organiser then viewing in full screen and enlarging to 100% then exiting, organiser loses the highlight and reverts to the first photo. This also occurs when the photo is edited and saved you have to find where the editedd photo has gone to, it is time consuming when you have a large number of photos in the organiser. pse9 did not do this. Also pse11 does not sort photos properly by the shot date especially when the photos ard edited
When a new blank file is created at given dimensions ( say 6 x 4 inches) the actual dimensions on screen and the ruler appear approx. 1.333 times smaller than the actual size ( 4.5 x 3 inches ) .How can I correct this?
I am trying to edit a photo that I have in lightroom with elements. Elements is greyed out. Tried a different photo and elements works fine as an editor. do not understand why on this particular photo elements is greyed out.
Every time I create a Photo Email in PSE 11 the email appears in my email client with this text added to it: "Here are the files that I want to share with you". I do not what this text and I have to select it and delete it for every email I create. Is there any way to change and/or eliminate this text permanently within the PSE files?
I found the text in the following file, but eliminating it from that file did not stop it from displaying. How can I get rid of this unwanted message?
I have been using the macro that allows you to use photoshop as the default bitmap editor, however I've just installed photoshop cs4 (i had been using cs3) when I run though the set up instructions and get to the reference file bit the cs3 object library has vanished and the cs4 wont work, I have tried to browse for the file that would link the cs3 object library but I'm unsure as to what it is called?
the reference box will only partially show me some of the directory path name which I presume is similar for cs3.
PSE 9 linked perfectly with LR but PSE 10 is not. When i go to define external editor in LR4 (version 4.1), it lists Photoshop in the top section but I cannot select it as my external editor when I use "Edit In". It also doesn't link when I select PSE as the "additional" external editor. But I'd prefer it worked as the default because I want to use Topaz as my "additional" external editor.
I am only allowed to choose an additional external editior, not the default external editor. I have looked all over for a way to re-point LR4 to PSE 10.
I have exactly same question as here: [URL] .... but this solution does not work in 2012 max.
first of all i don't have that "enu" folder with defaults. however i found defaults/designviz.mentalray/medit.mat (designviz.mentalray is scheme that i'm using) but changes to that file doesn't have any effect. after that i've tried to activate designviz.mr scheme again and restart 3dsmax, still no effect.
I use few image types, 90% are png, the rest 10% are gif/jpeg. When I want to edit an image, I can start the editor from the context menu of the image icon and with almost all the images the default editor is Paint.Net but not for the gif images. how to set it in the registry but ... I didn't found the clean way to do it.
How Paint.net is registering itself as the default editor for the other image types? How can add to this list the gif type?
