is there any way to change image placement when dragging it into PS? Now all the images are placing automatically directly in my document (in current tab). I want i to open as a new tab.
I'm using PS 12.1 in Win 7.
Photoshop displaying image differently on a same screen in different placement. Same image when moved a bit to the left changes image saturation. This is happening only in photoshoop CS6. I have two older versions of photoshoot that are working just fine. No other program is shoving behiever like this. I tried different files jpg .psd .png, same behavior.

I just started using Indesign CC a couple of weeks ago and am building a document with a lot of images. I'm dragging and dropping the images from Finder and about half the time the images are coming in distorted and out of proportion, the other half of the time, they are maintaining their original proportions. What is causing the distortion? Is there someway to control the placement so the image maintains it's original proportions?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am running PS7 on an XP SP2 system with 512 MB ram and a slow processor. I have two internal hard drives and have tried many times to assign the scratch disk to my second drive which is the largest and fastest. When I do this, Photoshop will not open and I have to delete the preference file in order to get the program to run. What could be causing Photoshop not to recognize my second drive on startup?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm having some trouble touching up a damaged photo. I have color corrected first then cleaned up with neat image. Everything looks fine until I try to clean up the spots with the clone tool. It's desaturating the photo leaving white spots.
I think it may have something to do with the layer placement so I drag the most recent to the top leaving the color adjustments below and I'm not having any luck. I've even merged the layers thinking that would help:O
Am I making color and noise corrections before I should be?

View 20 Replies View RelatedI am trying to take a handprint such as the one below and change the color of the handprint to say a light pink (or any color) but I want to keep most of the detail of the fine lines that make this handprint unique. The lines could even just come out as white as below. The main thing is to change the overall color while maintaining the fine details. I have been trying to accomplish this for over a week now in Photoshop Elements 11 and I have been unsuccessful as anything I do just totally color fills the image, which does not keep any details of the handprint.

I followed the suggestion of going to Edit > Preferences > General to uncheck the "Place or Drag Raster Images as Smart Obejct" but that option does not appear in Photoshop CS4.

View 2 Replies View Relatedi have a problem with 3DS Max 2011. When I open it up, an error appears that says:
"XAML Parse Error: Error parsing Xaml file: root element is missing."
I then proceed to click 'ok'. Another dialog box appears saying:
"Reset Ribbon? The main Ribbon configuration file is probably corrupt. Reset to factory defaults?"
I click 'Yes', and 3DS Max starts up without any noticeable problems. However, when I open my project and attempt to place bones into my model, the bones do not place properly (it seems that they are being placed along a random axis and they are stretched out. Not only this, but upon placing a bone, the ViewCube stops working. It is still present on screen, but i cannot interact with it.
I've been screwing around with beams in Revit for years and still have issues with the gaps at the connections. There is a shape handle and a structural component end. Either way, the beam decides where it wants to end. If I put two precast beams end to end, resting on an inverted tee girder that needs to have the 9" tee portion extend between the two joists, Revit doesn't like that and does its own thing. I move one, the other follows. I move both far enough away from eachother, then drag one end to where it needs to be, cool, then when I drag the other...boom...they snap together. Yes, I'm aware of the "start and end extension" in the properties window, this is incredibly time consuming and if one of the beams are switched around, I need to remember if this end was the start or end. In addition, the structural component end will go initially where it wants to, so there's no guarantee that if the parameters are correct, the beam/joist will be.
Can I remove all "rules" that beams have so I can place these correctly?
I was going through some exercises in an ACAD book and floating my command line, etc. and now I can't get it back to it's original place. Or at least when I do it's covers everything there.How do I get it back to normal?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI am doing a project where I need to overlay short clips on top of a longer clip, but at exact/specific placements/timecodes.
Try to just constantly drag the overlay and hoping to hit the exact place, is exasperating.
Is there any way to just say "put the overlay at hhmssff"?
I now have VSX4 but could not finds such a feature/option.
Also, another thing that has been annoying all along and still not addressed in X4 is when it comes to rendering/"sharing" a movie. I am always forgetting to turn off the annoying "automatically play the resulting video after rendering".......so I will start a 2-hour rendering process and all of a sudden, from the other room, I hear the video playing.
Isn't there some place to permanently turn off this !@#$%^&*() default?
When i create a part in an assembly, i select a plane or face with the cursor, but then i select again a plane for the sketch.
Why this double selection, and what does the first selection do, if the part is actually sketched on the plane i selected in the second time.
Is there a way to anchor dimensions to views so that when the size changes, the dimensions retain their location in relation to the view?

View 3 Replies View RelatedThe above image is the closest description of what I mean by a "chord" setting. I need to be able to place lines with a specific length and orientation at a certian radius from two nonparallell curved lines. I've been finding it extremely difficult.
The blue lines are the property lines and the circles are the setbacks (hypothetically). To simplify the problem I offset the blue lines by the setback like so. which brigs me to the original problem. I need to place the building at the optimal point. So far, I have only been able to get close and I know/think there should be a better method to solve my problem. In the example I provided, I knew exactly where the building should be placed because the offsets were the last thing I drew. How can I get this result if my drawing is composed of fully drawn but nonaligned components?
How does IV recognize iMate naming. I am trying to use specific named iMates on parts that when placed in the assembly that they can be placed in the correct postions. What I have run into is that no matter how I name the iMates I can place a part with one iMate name on a non-matching named iMate. Ex.- 1601-1 will mate with 2201-1 using the alt-Drag method. (These two iMates are both insert types.) This happens sometimes using the "Use iMate" checkbox on the place component dialog. I thought that the naming and type of iMate dictated what mates with what not just type.

What and how does Revit determine where the temp dimension is based off of when you are placing new walls? I have had the temp dimension jump all the way across a plan to find a wall that I drew 3-4 hours ago and has no relevance to the current wall I am drawing. The space I am currently on has a geometric relationship to the walls around it, not to a partition wall 200 feet away with no relationship to the current space. Yes I understand the building as a whole has a relationship to all parts within, but I think you get the drift.

Im just starting to look at I features to design, but even though my sketch is fully constrained when I place the iFeature with multiple references i can still move it using the arrows. How i could place them more accurately.

Of all the ways to generate a leader (when the correct one to the center of the dim can't be generated), the extremely acute angle version doesn't seem like the best option.
I noticed that some multileader move when editing and some do not. This is very frustrating. Usually this seems to happened when annotative scale is on. I tried to avoid this happening by turning off annotative scale and this does not work. Instead I go to another file to find the other multileader text that doesn't move when I edit. I tried to find what causing this shift in the properties menu but can't see the difference between the two.
How to stop the multileader shifting!? Is this a bug?
Creating a custom title block in innventor seems to be straight foward however when I save the new title block it offsets from the sheet, up and to the right. How do I get the title block to line up with the sheet

I'm tyring to use the 2d Interactive Placment Tool without success. I can see the red box, I can see the arrow cursor and when I click I see the little arrow and box, but when I use the mmb nothing happens. I've seen a video demo and it works there, but when I try it no joy, very frustrating.
I drew a shape with the bezier tool and filled it in with the planar tool resulting in a shape that the Outliner calls a PlanarTrimmedSurfaceShape - I can see the texture, but it's wonky.
Every time I open up GIMP, I have to reposition the Tool Options menu that's all the way to the left so that I can see the menu options at the top (File, Edit, etc.), and I also have to move around the Layers menu as per my own preference.
Is there a way to pin them to a specific spot in GIMP and save them there so that every time I open GIMP they're in the same position as where I left them at?
