When in CS6 I want to be able to move my image where ever I want it, by default it's centered on the workspace. Because my palettes are on the right and I use quit a bit of them it's better when I can move the image moire to the left.

I position the ribbon locked to the side of my display because I have a wide screen & if docked to the top I end up with a very wide, skinny drawing area. when ever I make a change tp the ribbon contents it goes back to the default top position, after which I have to relocate it again. Is there a way to get it to remember the previous position of the ribbon?

When I click on File, Open in CS2 (it came with the computer) Pictures is always the Library that opens. Can this be changed? I have created a Library called Photography. That is where I download and store my photographs and where I work on them.
View 3 Replies View RelatedIn Photoshop CS6 if one wants to use floating document windows (I don't care for tabs) the opened image cannot be moved around the interface. If you drag the image the document window snaps back to where you moved it from plus some amount to the left. Eventually if you keep trying to drag it to a new location it will move all the way to the left side of the screen and will snap back there when you try to move it. I often like to have several images up at once as I do comps and I am very disappointed that such a major interface issue made it through testing un-noticed.
This happens on both my laptop PC and my Desktop. Both Windows 7 64bit pro machines and each have 8G of ram. Desktop has Nvidia graphics and the laptop has Intel graphics. Happens in both 32 and 64 bit versions of windows.
I'm in Photoshop CC 3D, and I have a simple scene with one complex object. I can't find any way to move the position of the camera beyond the default positions, like top, front, back. I can do it CS6, but I can't do it in CC. I can rotate the object, but I want to keep the object where it is. I want to move the camera.

Imagine trying to draw a line but the starting point is a half to a full inch up and to the left of where you wanted the line to start. View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm using the trial version of Elements 11 to see if I should downgrade from an old version of Photoshop. I'm running into two problems:
1) when I re-size an image, it doesn't show pixels in the drop-down box under Document Size, and
2) if I manually re-size an image, I can't get the move tool to nudge it into position.
However for business use I have a need to efficiently send .jpg files to various people and I often forget to change the file type so I have to reload the file, re-save the file, etc. and strangely, I can't seem to find the preferences menu to change this option. Where the default save-as file type can be changed to .jpg?

For example, I open a jpeg, crop it and try to save, but if I then try to save it as a jpeg I get a message telling me I have to 'export' first.
I know the Gimp isn't Photoshop but in Photoshop you get the option to choose the file extension at save or save as without the added step of exporting.
Is there a setting somewhere that allows me to choose as this messing around exporting from .xcf is a real drag when you're editing a lot of images. Plus you can end up with extra, unwanted, .xcf files.
Is there a reason why the Gimp defaults to .xcf for every file edit? It seems unneccesary when all you're doing is a simple crop etc.
Again Photoshop opens, allows edits and then saves in the original's file format, which does make for a more efficient workflow. Plus it doesn't default to .psd for every edit.I'm using Gimp 2.8 with Fedora 17 64bit and will now boot into Windows to work more efficiently in Photoshop till I can find a way to change this in Gimp.There doesn't seem to be anything in Preferences relating to file formats/extensions.
Autocad is saving files to the Temp folder. I like to keep that folder nice and clean. My question is: which file location in the options dialog box that controls that issue?

I finally installed lightroom 3 after many, many months of it sitting on my desk. I have been watching tutorials, and playing around with it, and I have found that the default presets are only on the right side panel in library. On the left panel in develop the heading presets shows up but when I click on the triangle nothing shows up under them. I did see a question already on here to right click on the heading and check it which I did a few times just to see if it would work and nothing.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am using Illustrator on a Wacom 24HD on a PC, which works quite well, except that as a right handed person, the tooltips, which appear to the right of the mouse cursor, are covered by my hand. Windows (and the Wacom settings) both have a left hand / right hand setting which control where a popup menu appears, however, I do not see anywhere where I can control where the tooltips appear, presumably because this is an Illustrator feature, not a Windows feature. Its particular important for this application because tooltips are used for information (such as size when dragging out new shapes), not just for beginners needing a reminder what a button means. To put the tooltips to the left of the cursor instead of the right?

I have a symbol which is essentially 10 images or so side by side, and buttons below that are directional arrows left and right. I want to have it set up where when you hover over one of those buttons, it moves the photo slideshow left and right. I havent been able to find the correct code and it is currently inoperable.
Right now, I have this in the BtnRight symbol, which is the arrow to move the slideshow to the right.

I'm creating a sprite sheet and I need to move my sprites to a specific location.
For example my sprite is 120x120, so I need to place the 5th animated frame at EXACTLY 120x5=600 pixels from zero or at 600, 0. I can't seem to find a way of doing this in GIMP, it shows me a mouse delta position from where I first clicked?
Any way to change the "View" of parts on file open? When I open an .ipt or .iam the Visual style view is always "Shaded". I want this to be "Shaded with Edges".

It's top "grab-bar" and "shadows-value-field" are outside the edges of my monitor.
I cannot "grab" it with my mouse cursor to relocate it. How can I move it into the visible area of my monitor?
When I move a selection of image files from one folder to another within lightroom there is always an error with at least one image and it doesn't make the move and is left. I can then reselect this image and then move it again.

View 2 Replies View RelatedSo I have a lot of 2D drawings (a couple thousand roughly) that I need to go through and shift the objects within to the absolute 0,0 position. That way, when we insert them into a new drawing, everything is centered appropriately and not way off the screen.
Instead of:
Open File > Select Objects > "MOVE" > Specify Basepoint > " * 0 , 0 " > Center View on Newly position Objects > Save File > Close File
... Repeat ...
By way of a LISP routine, or a script that could automatically do the above steps on it's own. Even something that doesn't require me to hit *, then tab, then 0, then tab, then 0 again.
Is there a way to change the selection position and size by entering the numbers exactly? I find it difficult to make pixel perfect movements and it is tiresome to use the keyboard arrows to do this.
When something is selected, the position and size appear in the bottom left corner. Perhaps clicking on this could bring up a window that would let the user enter exact values.
For some reason my cloning start poition has stopped working. Normally you select clone tool / press alt/ right click at position where you want to copy from /right click again at new position you want to copy to / I am now getting: "could not use clone stamp as area has not been defined". I thought it might be fault on keyboard, but is the same with new keyboard and I have reinstalled CS4.

I have downloaded a list of system variables but have been unable to identify a system variable to control the location of the Text Format box.
Every time I double click on text to open the text editor the Text Format box opens directly on top of the text forcing me to drag the Text Format box out of the way to be able to see what I'm typing as I edit the text.
Some one in our office pointed out that the Text Format box is defaulting to open in the center of the screen and that if I want to avoid the conflict I should zoom or pan to a point where the text I wat to edit is not in the center of the screen. This is a major PITA that requires significant retraining as I ALWAYS zooom and pan to place what I am editing in the center of the screen. Twenty two years of AutoCAD use creates habits that are difficult to alter. I would think most people would do this by default and having the Text Format box default to opening in the center of the screen was a rather shortsighted choice by the programmer.
Shouldn't the placement of the Text Format box be relative to the location of the text chosen for editing, say above or below on the screen rather than defaulting to a set location?
I have re-arrange the Properties and Project browser from their original position, I cannot figure out how to put them back in their default position , I'm having hard time navigating thru my project because of this mess.
